    Default Paeninsula Italica

    PAENINSULA ITALICA

Syracusan heavy hoplites, and Syracuse's gallic mercenaries:

A partial view of the Syracusan roster out in force:

    Graphics and shield blazons:

The faction roster, nearly complete (almost all units in these factions are also done). Here we see the mighty Gallic Senones, and if you look carefully you can notice the intricate patterns of carving on their symbol.

    Various faction rosters:

We are making very good progress and looking for people to help finish the mod faster, so PM me if you want to help out.

This already looks promising, though buildings certainly will be the major obstacle for this mod.
    Good luck.

Sig, good start with PI-2 in M2TW. Hope CA reveals how to mod M2 fully.

Thought I'd give you guys an update of what's what.

First, some tests implementing our Roman units in the M2TW Kingdoms. Here is our dear hastatus strolling through teutonic germany:

Proof of concept completed, this can be done. Then -- test of our actual PI strat-map models, an Celtic Cenomani general walking through medieval germany (the irony, I know):

And finally, put it all together, the grand whammy:

You can see a lot here. A nice and pretty completed mini-map; detailed city models; detailed Classical ships; local villages thrown around the province, that tell about the population density throughout this area; and of course, Classical strat map models for our PI factions (by the way there are like 3 vanilla factions left in the game, we've coded in all of our factions from scratch).

We also have a LOT of unit models done from our RTW version, and work is going on right now to convert them to M2TW.

    thank's for the update Sig.

    Looking great.

With recent tools, I'm building my mod fairly quickly but I suspect i'll hit a brick wall sooner or later. you seem to be far along in your conversion and as you said, you already have alot of the meshes already done from RTW-PI.

One question I'm interested in, how are you going to implement Roman diplomacy. ie roman citizenship and Roman garrisoned towns in enemy territory.

I don't know, we haven't thought about that much. To be honest with you it's not as important as other things we could do, such as election and replacement of Roman generals every few turns, and Greek philosophers traveling southern Italy. For now, the typical conquest seems fine in light of those other fascinating possibilities we could be working on instead.

    It's not a map.
