no not by posting lots and lots of posts, just by doing special things for the .org I would say.
There are awards ?
Yes, Iraq is peaceful. Go to sleep now. - Adrian II
yes there is / was a thing called "'Hall of fame '' don't know exactly what it is m, but some members have an ''edit'' ''screenshot'' award and some other m,embers have other awards
Don't know hoe hall of fame , award giving works...
Maybe a mod knows ?
There hasn't been a Hall of fame this year, but if I remember correctly, there is a period of nominations for the awards, and then there is a vote that all members of the .org can participate in.
LordHugh is correct about the HoF award. As for the others, they were awarded in a couple of different ways. Ones like the Edit and Map(?) were awarded by the staff based on the contributions of individuals in those categories. The Screenshot award was part of a screenshot competition organized by patron Alrowan. Several catagories were created and any patron could submit his/her screenshots to the appropriate categories. All patrons were then invited to vote for their favourites in each category. The winners in each category received the Screenshot badge. (BTW, go back to page 6, January 2004, and you'll find the voting threads and most of the screenshots are still there)
As you can see, there is no set formula for these badges/awards.
This space intentionally left blank
will there be a hall of fame this year ?
cause I heard there wasn't one last year .
just wondering.
Is there an award for best spammer? Best pointless poll maker? Or do they only do serious awards? For guides and stuff..
Jag already has the award for best spammer.
Check his icon, it is a Kensai with dark red lettering above it SPAMMER..
Serious awards. I would also like an award for best old school style poster (back in the old days before MTW)... with the rose coloured glasses it would be someone who is polite, helpful, informative and fun.
*laughing*....
Are you gonna give awards this year?! Ask Tosa, maybe he'll do it....
If you are gonna give awards, I want one!!!

I truly hope so!Originally Posted by Craterus
I think it is like Senior Membership. Great contributions to the .org will provide you with an award. That's why you'll see that most people with an award are senior member too, or moderator.

We have had plenty of "more fun" awards in the HoF... Somebody Else, for instance, got into the 2003 Hall of Fame for having the most original/fun nickname.
On a more important note, I would really like to see a HoF again this year. :]

I really like the sound of this HoF awards, hopefully it will happen.
We should definitely have another hall of fame, it was a good way to recognise those in the community who put in a lot of input and time.
As to my avatar, this is what you get when you tell Soly to use his imagination and surprise you!
GARCIN: I "dreamt," you say. It was no dream. When I chose the hardest path, I made my choice deliberately. A man is what he wills himself to be.
INEZ: Prove it. Prove it was no dream. It's what one does, and nothing else, that shows the stuff one's made of.
GARCIN: I died too soon. I wasn't allowed time to - to do my deeds.
INEZ: One always dies too soon - or too late. And yet one's whole life is complete at that moment, with a line drawn neatly under it, ready for the summing up. You are - your life, and nothing else.

I also want a Hall of Fame... Well, I want the prizes

Count me in on the fans! I'd love to see a HoF this year.
JAG, do you mean the member 'solypsist'? That guy has such a great avatar himself too.

isn't he the guy that has the MTW assassin avatar with the little blinking light in it ?
That really rocks, I had to look twice at it before I noticed it was part of the avatar and not my imagination....
Me too. Three times.Originally Posted by Dutch_guy

When I was a member of a Heaven Games forum there was a yearly Forum Awards which sounds very similar to this. Yay!

What's this wonderful 'H' meaning 'Historian' under my name (amongst quite a few others)? Well, whomever thought this up, and carried this out, thanks a lot!!

Barocca made that badge. It's for members who are adding neat content about History. There are some others deserving such a badge, but we are only starting.

The H looks like a certain H I've seen somewhere else...now where could that be?
But congrats. I like the little award thingies.

Mark Twain 1881"If you don't want to work, become a reporter. That awful power, the public opinion of the nation, was created by a horde of self-complacent simpletons who failed at ditch digging and shoemaking and fetched up journalism on their way to the poorhouse."
Thank you all for the Historian badge, I'm honored to accept, and I'd like to thank my Mom, Dad and my cat.
"But if you should fall you fall alone,
If you should stand then who's to guide you?
If I knew the way I would take you home."

Like in the Monastary? In general? Or in modifications? It's for members who are adding neat content about History.
Wah! Medal-envy.
And congradulations to all recipiants.
the plan is to wait for BI to be released,
then when I have seen the colour scheme i will make a HoF badge for 2004/2005
we have done combined years HoF before and there was quite a bit of turmoil around the time when we would have normally held HoF last year,
with a number of key staff resigning due to real life commitments,
my good self changing jobs, moving house, and my other half getting ready to have our first child - i almost had to leave because of everything going on but "she who must be obeyed" would have none of that
the "H" is from the Rome Font, but all squished and reuced like it is, well yes, i suppose it does pay homage to another organisation that is big on History
B.
The winds that blows -
ask them, which leaf on the tree
will be next to go.
Wiz and steppe and BKB all deserved it.
All of the recipients, you deserve it!!!!
As I said,
Medal-Envy!!!!
