    6. The Guard Post

During the Day Phase, you may experience zombie attacks which will pick off players. Those manning the Guard Post are easy prey if there are very few of them, but they are better protected than those out foraging, because they can combine their defensive ratings together, unlike the foragers.

I think you get the idea about guard posts. We are not sure what would happen if the guard post was totally unmanned, but I would advise caution.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
    8. Foraging

You will need items. Most of you have abysmal traits... you're sitting ducks unless you mass yourselves behind a barricade or guard post, and weapons wouldn't hurt either. Get some weapons and ammo... pronto. Just remember those you send out foraging... well.... some of them don't come back alive.

    9. Escaping

Eventually you will need to Escape. However, with an ever-growing Zombie Horde, that is nearly impossible. You will need items which can help you escape, or at least enough weapons to survive their attacks.

I think you get the idea why we need to forage but caution should be exercised especially in the first round when we don't know what is going to happen. Perhaps some of the people who played the first game or YLC himself can tell us what happens if nobody mans the guard post?

Originally? Those who did nothing during the day became freebies, allowing me to not have to WoG anyone at all

As for right now, not sure. ATPG has refined the rules to a different degree. Originally, there was only a forage and capability stat to determine everything, now we have 4 stats...

I agree with DIY we need like 2 players on guard duty, and the rest can forage. We need more to forage now when we can, because we need supplies, and there are less zombies, but we still need a few of us to guard our fort so to speak.

FYI, in keeping with the Original -

stats range from 1-5 for players
Zombies have stats ranging from 3-4

Dice are rolled to see if something is successful.

Example - Defending yourself from a Zombie.

Player has 3 Capability (or in this case Defense)
    Zombie has 4 Lethality
Player rolls a 3 six sided dice, and get 12
Zombie rolls 4 six sided dice and gets 13
    Player is eaten
Player screams about the injustice of the Random Number God

Why the Guard Post, afraid you won't be able to murder any of us if we all go out foraging, is that it? Huh?

If we all went foraging, at least most of us would return better armed, and could easily take out any zombies that wandered into the town. Logic will prevail!

Meanwhile, what weapons do we have? Karate chops? Kicks? They don't work on zombies. So far, no one has confirmed anything on guns. We are defenseless, really. Although the umbrella agent would surely have a limited number of bullets.....

    No ham, pepsi.
They make deli slices of frozen pepsi now? Awesome!
You also need to purchase a small freezer for storage of your pepsi.
It runs on batteries. You'll need a few.
Uhh, I guess I won't have pepsi then. Do you have change for a twenty?

Surely[i]anyone/i]with a gun or any sort of weapon that requires an ammo, would have limited supply of it..

Maybe ammo is something you can scavenge, too.

I think that a few of us have ammunition. However, if no one has any guns, the ammo will be useless. What, do we throw it at the zombies? Fed them lead in the hopes that it will poison them? Well that won't work, because they're zombies!

Some people have claimed to have guns (Diana for one. ), others claim having ammo. Someone seemed to have both. (I am too lazy to actually check for the names, I just remember Diana, because, well, she's evil.)

    @ TheFlax
I thought I did answer your question, I'm not a zombie, I am a townie, a horse rancher, with crappy stats. The only fairly good stat I have is a 2 on foraging, that is why I chose to forage. I also said that we need most all of the players to forage, we need supplies. I have a rifle, but no ammo. Also in the write up of the rules, we are alone when we forage, so worse odds on getting killed, but we need to do it now, before there are more zombies.

Might I ask what caliber of gun?

If we've got a shotgun with no ammo, we should know that so we can help that man out!

    I have a G.I. M1911 MEU, 8 rounds standard, with 3 clips of .45 ACP.

    And terrible aim

    Nice, terrible aim?

Does it say that? Maybe we could find someone with good aim to take it from you, or borrow or whatever I don't know.

I've got no weapons sadly, minimal skill as well. Hopefully I can get something more than a few rocks while foraging.

Hunting rifle then? I'll mention any ammo I find for it.

I have zero offensive capability, and the gun gives me only a tiny boost. Knowing what a .45 ACP round does to a person, I inferred that not only can I not hit the broadside of a barn, I couldn't hit the earth it I put the muzzle to the dirt

I'd advise not posting defensive ratings =), so pever doesn't have more help.

Especially an unarmored person. Oh yeah, I supposed to be RPing.

IC: Gee, you're mightily lucky to have a gun. At least you can defend yourself.
