Trouble with RTW and barbarian invasion on windows 7

Hi guys, basically I've encountered a number of problems during installation of rome total war, including;

- RTW not being updated after I have applied the patch, in the options menu it still says v 1.0 when I have applied both the 1.3 and 1.5 patches (in order)

- I then installed barbarian invasion and it wouldn't play because mss32.dll was missing, so I moved the BI folder and exe from activision folder in program files (where it had been installed) to the rome total war sub folder in program files (x86), where RTW had been installed. This stopped the mss32.dll problem but now it gets as far as the loading screen, it then says "error loading mount database".

PLEAAAAAAAAASE someone help me, im getting so stressed lol

ok now this isnt the best forum for this sort of thing. meaning: i have no idea so i would reccomend going to either the entrance hall or the apochetharapy.
