The Mafia's comeback
He looked up at the blue sky. It was a very nice day, early Spring. The sort of day on which his father used to take him out to go fishing. He remembered those days as about the happiest ones in his childhood. Not that he liked fishing. In fact, as a child, he found it a pretty boring sport. "Sport". Ha! Sitting down for a whole day and just waiting for a fish to bite. No, he loved those occasions, because his father used to tell him awesome stories.
There was this one story his father loved to tell him. And he loved hearing it again and again. It was about a boy named Richie.
Richie was a fat kid, living in his father's town Gameroomville. He was the son of a butcher, named Luciano. Luciano was an Italian immigrant, a hard working man, who paid his weekly contributions to the local mobster, Don Patino.
Don Patino had a son, Vincenzo. Vincenzo wasn’t exactly the brightest bulb, but he was his fathers’ son, so nobody dared to touch him. Vincenzo knew this and he enjoyed his status. He was a bully and Richie, the fat kid, often was his target. Every time Richie walked by Richie and his friend, they called him names. Sometimes they pushed him away and when Vincenzo was in a bad mood, Richie got punched and kicked.
They also did practical jokes with Richie. Just like his father was a hard working man, Richie was a good student who did his best at school. He loved reading and could often seen walking around with books, he bought with the money he earned helping his father in the butcher shop during the week-ends.
One day, Richie made the mistake of walking through Vincenzo’s street with his newly acquired books. Vincenzo and his friends forced Richie to stop. They punched him in the face and of course, Richie dropped his books. That day, Vincenzo took things a bit further than usual. Two of his friends forced Richie to watch while Vincenzo urinated on his books. But this wasn’t enough for Vincenzo, no. After that, he lit a cigarette and he threw the match on the books. They caught fire.
Richie yelled “Noooo!” and this was reason enough for Vincenzo to kick one of the burning books in Richie’s face. The child’s face got scarred for life.
Being the coward he was, deep in his heart, Vincenzo ran away, his friends with him.
A year later, Richie walked through Vincenzo’s street again. The Dons’ son grinned and his friends walked up to Richie, planning to give him the usual treatment. But Richie wasn’t there to be bullied again. He pulled a handgun and pointed it at Vincenzo.
Two days later, a 14 year old kid killed Don Patino.
From that day on, Gameroomville was no longer terrorised by mobsters. Richie's tradition was continued and this particular neighbourhood never got terrorised by the mafia again, until...
This was little Santino’s favourite story and he smiled while remembering it.
It were his last thoughts before the silenced gun finished him with a bullet between his eyes.
The mafioso looked down on the body and started shaking his head. “I liked you, I really did. But we can’t allow people standing up against us.”
He shrugged and stepped back in his car. His colleague nodded in approval and both men drove away quickly, leaving the body uncovered.

Day 1
Chief of police Andres read the report with a worried look on his face. The news that the mafia was in town would probably be a disaster for the regular deliveries of Belgian beer in this small town. Sure, he had enough booze in his cellar to survive a few World Wars, but still, it was worrisome.
He never understood why they made him chief of police of this small town, some told him it was because he was good at swinging sharp objects around and in making things swing from a rope.
He picked up the manual "How to be a completely incapable chief of police and doing minimal damage" and particularly liked the chapter where it was explained how to let the townies figure it out themselves and doing nothing more than what he was good at: lynching people and drinking beer.
He started to prepare his opening speech, but not after opening his third bottle of Duvel. After all, breakfast was the most important meal of the day.

Welcome to "The Mafia's Comeback", a large VANILLA mafia game:
The set-up is pretty simple:
- 30 players MAX;
- 2 mafiosi who get 2 kills each night;
- no detective or other pro town role;
- roles are not revealed upon lynching;
- mafia needs to provide the host at least a schematic kill write-up;
- 24 hours night and day phases;
- dead players are allowed to talk in the thread;
For those not familiar with mafia gaming, I'll explain the basic rules. In this game, this are the only rules you need to know, which makes this perfect as an introduction for new players:
