Hate to bring the bad news and it makes me feel even worse that it took me so long to care to look up and find out a few years too late. Anyway...
Many years ago it so happened that we "met" with Adrian II, ie. exchanged real names and even had a couple short phone chats. It was extremely important for him that I shouldn't reveal his identity, to which I promised and with which promise I'll remain bound to the end. A few weeks ago I did a web search and came up with his obituary :(

Ouch. Really sad to hear that

Dreadful news. Any details?
There are times I wish they’d just ban everything- baccy and beer, burgers and bangers, and all the rest- once and for all. Instead, they creep forward one apparently tiny step at a time. It’s like being executed with a bacon slicer.

Well wish I hadn't read this topic now.
Enjoyed Adrian's contributions seemed like an intelligent guy who knew what he was on about.
Hore Tore was a great guy as well, after reading up on it's even sadder than I thought, guy was so young as well.
Getting older sucks.
In remembrance of our great Admin Tosa Inu, A tireless worker with the patience of a saint. As long as I live I will not forget you. Thank you for everything!
That's all I can muster.
Ja mata, TosaInu. You will forever be remembered.

Been to:
Swords Made of Letters - 1938. The war is looming in France - and Alexandre Reythier does not have much time left to protect his country. A novel set before the war.
A Painted Shield of Honour - 1313. Templar Knights in France are in grave danger. Can they be saved?
Sad news indeed brother Mouza, as Adrian often referred those he appreciated. He was one of the patrons here who brought the discussion to a higher level.
For those who didn’t know Adrian – a thread with a potential flammable topic. Yet the clientele around Adrian always seemed to keep it cool.
He was sorely missed even before he passed.

I remember Adrian quite well. This sucks :(
Incredibly sad. RIP Adrian.
I don't there was ever a time that it wasn't partisan in here. A lot of the older partisan debaters seem to have left or passed away but I still enjoy coming back here and mostly reading the various opinions here and on rare occasions participating.
The monastery used to have good historical debates as well but seeing as everything seems to come down to racism now all debates seem to really occur here.
I've seen far more hate and inflammatory debates on the now defunct militaryphotos.net forums.

Four stage strategy from Yes, Minister:
Stage one we say nothing is going to happen.
Stage two, we say something may be about to happen, but we should do nothing about it.
Stage three, we say that maybe we should do something about it, but there's nothing we can do.
Stage four, we say maybe there was something we could have done, but it's too late now.

I know who he was than. How horrible all this. In his way too short life he had a whole lot of fun, that's comforting

Life is fundamentally pain. :(
There, but for the grace of God, goes John Bradford
My aim, then, was to whip the rebels, to humble their pride, to follow them to their inmost recesses, and make them fear and dread us. Fear is the beginning of wisdom.
I am tired and sick of war. Its glory is all moonshine. It is only those who have neither fired a shot nor heard the shrieks and groans of the wounded who cry aloud for blood, for vengeance, for desolation.
No it isn't you just get hurt once in while. I am really sad he's gone but I'm sure he doesn't mind that I do
