    OLD METHOD

9.2 Creating a map for LMM to process

    9.2.1 Set up
First you need to have a MAPTEX image. Use the low resolution version (2048 x 1536 pixels) as LMM works best with that, or actually, it doesn't work with high resolution.
Open this image in your painting program, which should have the ability to use layers in a image, since the next step is adding an empty layer. Select the empty layer and fill it entirely with black and make sure that this layer is on top of the MAPTEX layer. Now adjust the Layer Opacity so that you can see both layers.

9.2.2 Adding features to the map
These features are recognized by LMM because of the colour codings. In all painting programs you can make a colour by setting the Red, Green and Blue value: the RGB-value. So R:0 G:255 B:0 will be a green colour as both red and blue are zero. In LMM you can add the following features:

    Boundary
    Colour code: R:255 G:0 B:255, pink
Description: Essential if you want to define regions. A region needs to completely enclosed by a thin pink (freeform) line. LMM will correct thick lines, but try to get it 1 pixel wide.
NOTE: If you have for whatever reason a pink cluster of that is 3x3 pixels then LMM will no longer recognize it as a boundary but as water-on-land

    Castle
    Colour code: R:255 G:0 B:255, pink
    Description:

    Origin
    Colour code: R:0 G:255 B:255, turquoise
    Description:

    Port
    Colour code: R:0 G:255 B:255, turquoise
