Gah! All post/PM features have been disabled for me -- the bold/italics/underline functions, the Insert Link function, the smilies -- nothing works. Is this anyone else's experience as well?

The PM functions are working for me also. It could be attributed to JavaScript being disabled, which is what the functions heavily rely on.
In Firefox you can check whether JavaScript is enabled by going to "Tools" menu and selecting "Options". Once the preferences windows has appeared, select "Content" and then ensure that the "Enable JavaScript" box is ticked.
If you've recently installed NoScript, it could also be attributed to that. You will need to enable scripting on the page for the functionality to work. To do this, right click anywhere in the page, select "NoScript" and then select "Allow totalwar.org".
Hope this is useful to you
BTW, just another small glitch I've noticed - the "Edit Favourite Smiles" option lacks an icon in the posting/PMing view. This causes a slight layout problem in Firefox due to the way it handles broken image links.
As I've said before, thank you for all your efforts so far Tosa![]()

When the board was back at ~3 AM it was mostly a standard install (only the LDM and another essential were updated). Confirmed to work: read posts, create posts, create topics and send/receive PM's.
All other things have to be re-acivated and/or modified and that will take time: hours and days at least. The data is there, it's just not visible.
Among the re-activated items are:
-Favourite smileys
-Userpage (the standard vbulletin makes the shout redundant, but it's nice to have the page)
-Usernotes, it was in the database all the time, now it can be read and updated in your usercp
-Username management (change your forumname)
The ancient tablecode kept working, that's nice.
Glad you got it working Martok.

Hello Martok,
Do you not see the bar? Then you may have some sort of minimalistic editor. https://forums.totalwar.org/betavb/p...do=editoptions Miscellaneous Options

Nice icon for the smiles Tosa
Sorry, but another glitch appeared when you added the favourite smilies button - in Firefox 3.0rc2 there is misalignment on the top bar of the editor:
There is also a milder level of misalignment in IE 7 which is of the opposite way round to the Firefox alignment (slightly lower than the table function rather than higher).
In Firefox 3, the editor area now seems much wider compared to how it appears in IE 7 and the smiles on the right hand panel are much more spaced out than they are in IE. The result of this Firefox 3 wideness is a vast expanse between the "wrap text functions" on the left hand side of the main options and the choose favourite similes button, which, as you can see, is grouped together with the table function on the far right hand side. A little bit of extra wideness has appeared in IE, but it's not quite as large as Firefox 3's.
Hope this is useful
BTW, in the UserCP, shouldn't favourite smilies come under "Setting & Options" rather than "Your Profile". It seems a little more logical since it is not an item which others are able to view.

Tosa, there is a new feature that let me see the edit history. Can mods see members edit?
Names, secret names
But never in my favour
But when all is said and done
It's you I love

Some things I have noticed:
Scrolling in a thread is incredibly jerky, even though the page has loaded.
Typing in the quick post box is very unresponsive, at the worst requiring a full second between keystrokes to recognise them.
As for using the scroll wheel on a mouse, mine works fine by just scrolling, no clicking it. As above, it is very jerky and skips around though.
What browsers and systems are you using?
I use Firefox in Vista and I have no problems with scrolling at all. there has to be something that's different.

It's a minor thing, but I was curious as to whether/when the "PM member" icon (at the bottom-right of posts) will be restored. That was another handy little feature.
