Thread: Type 4 Governments

    Default Type 4 Governments

Hi, can anyone tell me why my settlements disappear after its client ruler dies. I mean i have to station a unit outside the city in order to see its income and happiness etc. Also, for Meroe, whenever i build a type 4 the general spawned doesnt have the client ruler trait, so he is no help. Lastly, what do most people do to their settlement when the client ruler dies? Do you guys upgrade it to a better type before he dies, because alot of the time after my client ruler dies i level the type 4, do pacification again, build a new type 4 and recieve a new client ruler; im jsut wondering what the most effective way is.

I can't say anything respective the buggy parts, but for strategy I say it's absolutely after your personal liking whether you leave this settlement as an independant state (that's what they think they are after all) or integrate it more into your empire with a type 3 / 2 / 1 government. Of course changing government from lvl 4 to lvl 1 isn't very feasable, and to lvl 2 at least has to go hand in hand with some rebellion in most cases.

Both type 4 governments and the overall client ruler system are receving a mayor revamp in the next release, so stay tunned.

Aem 91 I tend to roleplay so I do what you do in rebuilding Type 4 in certain areas such as North Africa, I play Rome a lot after the lives of a couple of client rulers I will then progress to type 2 or 3.

I would advise putting a decent army next to Tuat and Garama in the Sahara for when a client gets close to death I don't want them part of the Empire but you have to take them to destroy Carthage and when they rebel they always cause me a CTD!

I knew 1.2 was going to be out in half a year at the most ever since I officially joined .Org and that is why I have only played the Romani campaign in depth. Desert made a very good question though. I am now wondering if I should finish my Romani campaign (I'm out to conquer the entire known world) rather than starting another campaign. I have heard it was going to be out the next year's spring. Is that true?

You can start all the campaigns you want. Just don't download 1.2 if it comes out before you finish them.

Well, the thing is that I wanted to benefit form all of the goodies of v1.2 will bring without having to replay my 1.1 campaigns in 1.2 or prematurely end the 1.1 campaigns in favour of 1.2. Therefore, seems like the wisest thing to do right now is to finish one's current campaigns and wait 'till 1.2 or EB II comes out.

    We've all been there.

By tradition, the new version of EB always gets released when I am in a Roman campaign and near to getting the Marian reforms. My current Romani campaign (I'm also playing a Pahlava one) is in the 230s BC, so no chance for a month or so.

There is no need to quit an ongoing campaign or start a new one because of a new EB version. If you have enjoyed your game so far you should finish your campaign as planned and install 1.2 before starting the next campaign.

I am pretty sure that v1.2 won't contain any new content so don't let this keep you from starting a new campaign. Also, its release may still be sometime off (although it will almost certainly arrive a long time before EB2).
