No wonder Felix had been on edge – that cat had been hearing the cries of his fellow feline long before El Barto could.

He had to intervene. Grabbing the shotty he kept by the door, El Barto stepped onto the stoop and scanned the terrain. Setting the shotty aside, he knelt down and cradled the skittish and injured kitten. The leg was definitely broken.

El Barto was hammered flat by the dive-bombing attacker, and was in no position to defend himself when he was scooped up and carried unceremoniously to his backyard.

The maple that grew there wasn’t particularly tall – the sandy soil of a barrier island is a better home for pines then for maples – but it was tall enough. A noose was produced and fixed around his neck while others held his arms and legs. El Barto was tied hand and foot and then the rope was hauled. Up he went as the main branch took his weight, kicking and thrashing as he strangled. His attackers tied off the rope and then watched until his struggles ceased, then the half dozen strong party doffed their hats and filed away.

El Barto’s corpse swung gently in the breeze, back and forth, with only Felix’s silently swaying head watching from the kitchen window to bear witness.

Askthepizzaguy: "Last night, the following citizens were attacked and survived: Ameranth, Cecil XIX, Chaotix, Craterus, Secura, Slysnake, Lord Brennus, and Taillesskangaru. Unfortunately, the following Fatlings did not survive: Arjos, El Barto, Tincow, and Xenoneb.

Police reports are understandably hard to come by, but in this reporter's opinion, this is what happened:

Arjos was probably attacked by a team of 4 vigilantes, who failed to accomplish their task. However, two mafiosi finished the job.

Chaotix was attacked by a team of 5(?) vigilantes, who nearly succeeded in their task, but were prevented from their coup de grace by either two or three defenders. I would double-check on that as two defenders seems unusual, I may be misreading.

Taillesskangaru was attacked by a lone gunman wearing a trenchcoat and fedora, who obviously works for Mizza Mut, or used to work for that company. Police aren't concerned with this man because he seems to be quite the amateur. Also found at the scene was the body of a dead kangaroo, missing its tail, hanging by a rope. Quite bizarre.

Craterus seemed to have been attacked by a pair of gangsters dressed as Soviet Russians, but survived due to luck.

El Barto seemed to have been attacked by a group of 6 vigilantes, and died on the scene.

Secura seemed to have been attacked by a group of 5 vigilantes, and then protected by a group of 5 defenders, and a rather dashing, heroic young man named "Reenk Roink", who makes all of the ladies and 10% of the guys swoon.

Slysnake seemed to have been attacked by a group of three wiseguys or three gangsters, but they were unable to make the kill, possibly due to luck or another trait... bad luck? Slysnake has been injured twice now.

Lord Brennus was nearly slain by the same two gangsters that killed Moros last night, and left the same evidence behind, "Seward's Folly" It is pretty clearly the same group.

Tincow was slain by two gangsters, one wielding a Garand. Interesting to note that Tincow actually fired back before he was slain, that's something we don't see much.

Cecil XIX appears to be the target of a lone vigilante, possibly of the same stripe that is wandering around pretending to be a pizza man.

Xenoneb was slain by a particularly brutal serial killer wielding a sickle and hammer. Yeah, sickle and hammer. No communists in Fatlington? I don't think so.... they're here.

Ameranth seemed to be attacked by a group of 5 vigilantes, but he survived due to luck.

Hmm - I've only read each part of the thread once but I didn't see The Strangers name mentioned specifically in the write up doing protection? I don't doubt that you are aware of his actions though, in which case there are a handful of others who would be able to corroborate. If anything else comes up that looks more lynchworthy then I'd certainly consider changing my vote, but for now I'll stick with what I have: and that is a vote on someone who has gone out of their way to misinform and distract town, and who is desperate to avoid the lynch.

One man, watching in the crowd as Brennus was loaded into the ambulance, was surprised to be talking to a masked man standing next to him. With all the attention on Brennus, nobody really noticed details about either of them. Besides, it was Halloween, and a surprising number of folks were wearing masks of one sort or another. A few questions were exchanged, a matter of a few minutes hushed discussion, and the masked man said, simply, “I will look forward to your call.” He melted into the night.

Alongside what may be a number of wiseguys trying to become mafia, I find it most prudent to lynch Chaotix, who may be at the center of this operation.

Presumably Pizza is saying that with the wide spat of kills going on concurrent with protections that needed The Stranger's aid for success, he is not responsible for those kills by mafia families etc that are going on and I'm guessing accorded some leeway to a certain extent.

Naturally it doesn't clear him of anything though, just provides him with a personal alibi for 2 straight nights.

your entire reasoning is wrong. i was opposed to the doublelynch based on the affiliation of GH with both. when GH posted he would lynch both if that was what the town wanted i no longer opposed it and even made effort to ensure that it happened. so what do you have left? nothing...

but since ive been helping the town by protecting ppl and creating doctors and was for sure not involved in any killing, i wonder what you have done for the town in order for you to judge me with the self-righteousness that can only belong to the wicked or the most sacred of men?

As far as you doing protections etc, I didn't see pizzaguy's post when I wrote mine. I was off vigging lurkers. Maybe I even vigged one of your protection targets, I dunno. Could be you're on the up and up, could be you're pretending to be helpful now and will turn later. I haven't decided yet.
