I stopped reading partway through, maybe it differs substantially somewhere down below. But all of Sigurd's "recruits" would have one. If Populus is one of those, he wouldn't have to forge anything about it (unless, again, he changed or added something). He should have no need to forge anything. So what's he saying he forged?
