Nice! And I just started a vanilla RTW campaign, too
The art of war, then, is governed by five constant
factors, to be taken into account in one's deliberations,
when seeking to determine the conditions obtaining in the field.

    These are: (1) The Moral Law; (2) Heaven; (3) Earth;
    (4) The Commander; (5) Method and discipline.

    UNIFORMOLOGY - Lesson 2
    MOUSQUETAIRES DE LA GARDE:
    UNITS PREVIEW

    PREVIOUS LESSON:
    Bombardiers de la Marine: https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showt...s-de-la-Marine

    NEXT LESSON:
    Gardes Francaises & Gardes Suisses

    MOUSQUETAIRES DE LA GARDE

1ere Compagnie – Mousquetaires gris (Grey musketeers)

In 1622, Louis XIII replaced the carbines of his Compagnie de Carabins with muskets, renaming them Compagnie de Mousquetaires. Until 1629, this company was subordinated to the Chevau-légers de la Garde.
In 1634, Louis XIII became captain of the company which was disbanded in 1646. On January 10 1657, the company was re-established. It now consisted of 1 lieutenant-captain, 1 sous-lieutenant, 1 cornet and 2 maréchaux des logis. Louis XIV then added an ensign and fixed the number of Mousquetaires to 150. This company was added to the Garde to fight mounted or dismounted just like the dragoons.
The company was quartered at number 2 rue du Bac in Paris.
During the Seven Years' War, the company was under the nominal command of king Louis XV but under the direct command of a lieutenant-captain:
since May 21 1738 till 1767: marquis de Jumilhac

2e Compagnie – Mousquetaires noirs (Black musketeers)

This foot company was created in August 1660. It was the guard of cardinal de Mazarin who gave it to the king. In 1663, it was transformed into a mounted unit. On January 9 1665, king Louis XIV became captain of the company and integrated it into the Maison du Roi.
The company was quartered in its own hotel in the Faubourg Saint Antoine in Paris.
During the Seven Years' War, the company was under the nominal command of king Louis XV but under the direct command of a lieutenant-captain:
since April 1 1754 till 1766: marquis de la Riviere

In 1734, each company counted 250 troopers. Thus 100 troopers of each company could remain with the king while the other 150 troopers would participate to campaigns.
The unit was disbanded on December 15 1775. It was re-established in 1789 and soon disbanded again by the Republic.

    Service during the War

By August 1 1757, the 2 companies were stationed in Paris. The unit did not take part to the early campaigns of the Seven Years' War.
In 1761, the unit took the field with the army of Soubise. It was present at the battle of Vellinghausen on July 16 but was not engaged.
In 1762, the unit formed part of Condé's Lower Rhine army. It was present at the action of Nauheim on August 30 but was not engaged.

Over the last few days I was preparing beta of the European Wars. I finished it to do over the weekend. To this day, I did test the mod. I think what I have achieved the result fully satisfied me.

The mod, which I have prepared is a submod to the Lordz mod - Napoleonic II Total War. Move to the time of the 18th century - the age of swords, muskets, wigs and smoke that filled the contemporary field of battle.

The player now has the opportunity to play in the battle against the computer and the other players in multiplayer mode. At the moment there is no campaign, because I'm working alone.

In this version you can choose from 6 European factions:
    - Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth,
    - Kingdom of Spain,
    - The Habsburg Monarchy,
    - Kingdom of Prussia,
    - The Russian Empire
    - Swedish Kingdom.
A complete set of 16 factions I prepare the final version (including the military power such as France, Great Britain, United Provinces).

Each faction has two types of units:
    1) The early period - 1700-20,
    2) The late period -1750-89.

Compared to the previous version of the European Wars has changed a lot of things:

    - The Polish faction has changed roster of units. Other factions have so far makeshift units. I will be presenting the final rosters remaining factions.
    - Change units stats and combat mechanics cavalry (in contrast to N2TW, cavalry can shoot). I hope that now it is more historically.
    - Improved stability has been playing. It shouldn't now crash to desktop.
    - The names of units are now in two languages: English and Polish. I did it in order to facilitate the game. The menu is in Polish, but for RTW players shouldn't be a problem to find an option. In the near future I plan to patch only in English.
    - Changed the graphic design and interface of the game to give the climate of the 18th century.

    INSTALLATION GUIDE:

-install Rome Total War ver. 1.5
    -download European Wars from link
-unpack folder to: 'C:\...\Rome Total War'
-run mod using shortcut: EW- Total War

Thanks for the use of the Napoleonic II Total War developed by the Lordz. I also thank the team of 'Fire and Sword' for the use of some elements of the models. Full Credits are in the game.

I ask to make a list of bugs. I encourage you to help work on the European Wars. It is possible that players post your patch files in this thread.
