They all woke the next morning, to find themselves alive, and the painful curse seemed to have disappeared. Their flesh seemed normal.

"Have we done it? Have we finally killed them all?" said Diana Abnoba.

"I believe we have. Is everyone all right?" asked BSmith.

"I feel fine." said landlubber.






The only question: was it over? Would lynching another one of their own put the Darklings to rest for good? Or had they already succeeded?

Should they lynch at all? Or was this all a ruse?

Begin the final day.

Well, so it's down to this is it.

I must say I'm in a mixed mood at the moment. You see, I'm sorry that BSmith has to die now, and not suffer unending amounts of horrible and excrutiating torture, but I'm also glad that we have completely massacred this town of backwards peasants. Though, I will be able to take that sadness out on numerous other towns, all waiting for me and my friends to say "hello". I am going to enjoy eating your flesh BSmith, it will taste of victory, all the more sweeter since I was the one who chose you to be infected. My lovely target has stayed alive all this time, just ready for me to taste that juicy, delicious meat. It's quite delicious you know, much more nicer then any other kind. There's just something exhilarating about eating something that's alive, and can feel your teeth sink in as its life is devoured. As I slowly dine on your lively body, I hope that you manage to stay conscious and preferably breathing, live meat tastes better and your screams of agony is like music to my ears.

I don't think I can explain in words how much fun I have had over the last few days, setting up the lynches on the innocents, which unfortunately, I couldn't eat as a Mr. Askthepizzaguy did a good job of destroying the body. Though that was for the best, as it sets you up, my friend, for a delightful treat. I would have liked to extend your death as well as the others, but alas, it is not to be.

Might as well go through the formalities.

BSmith was disappointed to see that even after everything he had been through, he was now being accused of being the demonic creature that had been terrorizing them all. Worse, it looked like he was going to be lynched by the judgment of only two people. He was almost certain one of them had to be the Darkling. Diana Abnoba pointed her finger in his direction, suggesting that perhaps it was the Banker all along. BSmith was about to react to the accusation when Visorslash stepped forward. "Yes, BSmith is the one who must be destroyed. It is the only way we will survive..." he said. Landlubber quickly interjected. "Look at his eyes!"

Visorslash stood before the survivors with glowing eyes.

"Time's up. The votes have been counted, and BSmith will die... HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA!!!"

Visorslash leaped across the town square and tackled BSmith to the ground, and began strangling the Banker with inhuman strength.

"Someone stop him before he kills us all!" shouted Diana Abnoba.

The townspeople tried to pull Visorslash off of BSmith, frantically, but to no avail. BSmith was going to die.

Askthepizzaguy fought his way through the crowd, and aimed the blunderbuss with deadly precision. But Visorslash pulled BSmith in front of the blast at the last minute, shielding himself from the shot and killing Bsmith instantly.

"This isn't over, Visorslash. I note that you Darklings have struggled to murder anyone outright. Since right now I count there are two of them and one of you, I'm going to put an end to this, once and for all." said Askthepizzaguy. "I'm running this show. It's curtains for you, Slashy my boy."

Askthepizzaguy reloaded his blunderbuss.

"Sometimes in a democracy, you have to do a manual recount of the votes. Let's do that round again, one more time..."

Visorslash suddenly came to his senses. He was about to be lynched for sure this time. And so, his confident visage vanished.

"Wait! I'm not the Darkling! Don't do this, I was being controlled by the forces of evil!" he pleaded, but the others weren't having it. They began to approach Visorslash armed with knives and torches and pitchforks... and the Magistrate, still wielding his blunderbuss, was at the head of the mob.

"A likely story, Slash-ling. Time for you to die..." shouted Askthepizzaguy.

Then, Landlubber stopped dead in his tracks. He looked down at the knife and torch he was carrying, and then looked back at the others with a twisted grin on his face.

"I'll see you in hell, Visorslash..." said landlubber. Then he gouged out his own eyes with his knife, and set himself ablaze with his torch.

"NO!!!!" cried Visorslash, unable to stop landlubber in time. Diana stood back, watching the horrific scene unfold.

"You've killed for the last time, you spawn of evil" Pizza declared, aiming the blunderbuss at Visorslash.

Then, without warning, Askthepizzaguy turned the weapon around and blew his own head off with the gun.

"Ha ha ha ha ha ha...." Visorslash laughed. "Watching you humans kill yourselves has been so very enjoyable. Nothing pleases me more than to see you suffer..."

"This can't be happening... why are you doing this? Leave me alone!" said Visorslash.

"You're alone, all right. Everyone else in this wretched village is dead and gone. And your torment is just beginning, little piggy. Prepare for an eternity of unimaginable suffering... you'll wish you had never been born!" Visorslash shouted.


Visorslash then turned and looked at Diana Abnoba.




"Yes, meatbag..... Look into the face of pure evil, and remember... I AM YOUR GOD NOW!

MWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!"

Visorslash continued laughing, as Diana Abnoba tossed him her pitchfork. Visorslash continued laughing gleefully, as he began stabbing himself in the stomach with the farming tool, ripping out his intestines. He then wrapped them around his neck, tighter and tighter, until he stopped laughing permanently.

• If the farmer dies, the benevolent witch's powers become useless that night, because she is grieving.

The Darklings must choose someone to torment at night with their evil powers. They may target someone other than themselves, including an allied Darkling.

Tailor's Affliction: Pain- covered in painful sores. Anyone who comes into contact with you that night also gets covered in sores. Those sores do not go away unless the curse is removed.

Surveyor's Affliction: Madness- That night, if anyone visits you, the writeup will show you attempting to murder them.

Blacksmith's Affliction: Lust- That night, you are forced to visit someone against your will, redirecting your action there.

Doctor's Affliction: Possession- The next day, you are unable to speak except for certain phrases provided to you by the Darkling. You must vote for who the Darkling commands.

A curse cannot be used twice in a row- A new curse must be used every night, unless all curses have been used.

If only one Darkling remains, that one may murder.

A sole remaining Darkling regains use of all curses.


Priest's power- stops use of black magic on target, including the Benevolent Witch's power.
Witch's power- stops curses on target. Does not prevent prayer from working.
Vengeful lover's power- vigilante against anyone who voted for the Witch

And the sores did nothing besides be gigantic red distractions.

Technically they "tagged" someone who visited the target. Perhaps useful for the mafia to determine who visited whom, so they can deduce who is or is not a power role.

Also very good to make the townies paranoid as hell. I think they were very, very useful actually... precisely because they did a whole lot of nothing.

I loved your last posts here, so into character. Pizza told me this was all you. Very enjoyable. Yes, you almost had me, but only at the end. It was a real nail biter, this last day phase.

The basic premise behind this game is that the mafia have to win by misdirection, not brute force. The mafia had no murder power until there was only one of them remaining, or... if they could force the vengeful lover to murder someone using "lust".

But the sores, the "madness", the possession... all those things were designed to throw suspicion onto, and off of, people. Not much more than that. No brute force.

Very challenging for the mafia, especially when the vigilante could only target those who voted for White_Eyes, and every single mafioso alive had done so. Ouchy.

Still, the mafia pulled it out. Well played.

Much kudos to Diana Abnoba and edse. You guys pulled my strings like a damned puppet, and I did exactly what you wanted me to do. I'm still finding it hard to believe Ishmael and Arjos were innocent, just because of how much sense edse's claim made.

I had a good laugh at this.

Pizzaguy hates absolute scans, your going to need more to convince me that Jarema is scum.(can't discount it though)

I mean if you look at the write-up, it seems to be telling it from LazyMcCrow's perspective. All I see is that LazyMcCrow is a little crazy.

White_Eyes is always a combination of brilliant and utterly baffling. Sometimes he's way smarter than me, and other times, I think he's forgotten to take his meds.

Here, he was mostly in the brilliant camp.

Well played mafia - you had us all confused to the end.

I think the biggest hindrance to the town's success (for better or worse) were the red sores. As a townie, I was utterly convinced that it was an alternate 'kill' mechanism, which allowed the infected to vote but would count as a mafia victory if everybody was infected. Thus, Diana was able to fly under the radar for much of the latter half of the game, and by the time we realised the red sores didn't work like that, it was already too late.

On the plus side, I got the chance to eat human flesh for the second time in a mafia game! (the first time being Andres' 'The Island'). Let's make it three!

EDIT: Yeah, White_Eyes cottoned onto that pretty quickly. I/we probably should have seen it sooner - if simply visiting a mafioso would reveal them, it would be a game of 4 mafioso vs. 16 detectives - kinda' unbalanced.
