So in your experience, that's not how he reacts to that level of fluff/type of play?

Novice and Viper's nitpicking about whether or not Logic has played with anyone here before is a very odd thing to choose to be nitpicky about.

Someone appearing to contradict themselves and say two opposing things at once is always noteworthy, I think, especially when they continue to dodge explaining that contradiction.

except he explained himself quite clearly and it's honestly just pointless at this point

i don't mind it if you note that he, in your opinion, "contradicted himself", but grilling him over it on a point so unessential, in particularly one that i'm fairly certain is mostly a misunderstanding on your point, seems suboptimal

he literally said he's played on the playground for three years, and one game on the org recently

so he played with a couple of players on the org, and apart from that unless you've played on the playground during that time span he's never played with you

i don't understand what exactly you don't understand, but i hope that makes it clearer

source: am also from the playground

Questioning a contradiction is almost never suboptimal. Questioning contradictions and challenging people is how you play the game, you don't just wait for scum to hand you blatant slips and clear evidence.

Except that likely is what he meant, but it's not what he said:

I've only played one game on this forum before, and I recognize a handful of the players from that game in this one. Unless you've played on the Playground in the last 3 years, no one has played a game with me before.

And when asked by novice, he didn't clarify that was what he meant, but continued to talk about himself:

The second sentence was an incomplete thought; there was supposed to be an additional clause in there, and I didn't notice it until you pointed it out to me. So, besides the one game here on the Org, all my mafia/werewolf experience is from the Playground.
So I asked him exactly that myself, and he hasn't responded as far as I can see while I'm typing this.

You're answering for him. I hope you understand why you really shouldn't be doing that.

    okay

    i'll leave you alone then

i've read it multiple times and i'm still not seeing a contradiction, so

It isn't a slip though. Not a game relevant one anyway.

If he forgot that he played with someone recently or didn't, what does that have to do with anything in game? Or are you thinking that scum will pull a "I can't read this guy, because I haven't played with him before/recently"?

Nitpicking about game slips, sure, go ahead! I feel though that those are most often made by townies, because in my experience scums quality check their posts more.

That conversation's over anyway. Any other thoughts or reads?

My point was not to wait for "game-relevant slips".

That's not what he said and I never thought it was. N/A

That can be true, but how far does it go? If I say anyone who makes a contradictory/strange/suspicious post should be left alone because scum would be more careful about what they post, I'd get nowhere, accomplish nothing and lose. Better to take the risk and push anything, and leave it to the player to convince me they're town. There are times they will, there are times they'll fail and get mislynched, there are times they are scum who can be made to slip from the pressure. But holding back does nothing.

I merely disagree that I was nitpicking...

I expected to learn whether or not Logic had played with any of us before.

    Saying "I'm not X, I wasn't nitpicking" implies X was nitpicking...

    But anyway, understood.
