b/c frankly, i think its a really awkward point of attack and think it was more natural than other early TRs on me. wolves aren't srsly gonna "lockclear" a town post 1, espec a town they probs don't want to waste an nk on. think the reasoning others have expressed is pretty weak here, so i'd like to hear yours.

Not all that cobalt specific tbh.

Villagers are more off the cuff and more likely to underexplain while wolves are ready to (over)explain and their pushes are more calculated.

Saying less leaves you open for scrutiny.

And I don't think Cobalt as a wolf wants to get bad heat early (which is where the read gets back to being somewhat cobalt-specific).
His biggest weakness is not getting a foot in the door of the village from my limited (and outdated) pov which can result in flaking.
Once he gets a grip on the game/state he has an easier time staying within the group.

I think the answer to this is sorta like, I had been approaching this start-of-game maybe like a turbo game of mafia. my brain is just auto-filtering posts like I think that's a scummy post, that's a towny post. I think other people have been similarly going "this person is towny btw" and I just subconsciously didn't really value those explanations rn yet.. idk. THat's what my TKON vote was originally supposed to be; like "I scrolled through a couple times and he felt scummy, and off the top of my head I wouldnt be sure why." but then stett asked me, and I was like sure I will rewind and try to get into why I didn't like him, this seems fun / interesting and I am free right now

I think if this was a turbo mafia game I would probably be pushing TKON after that much because simply "I didn't feel those things, so I think his thoughts are more likely fake than real" and that's the extent of it

Or, I guess, I also just sorta did became able to see why someone would find dya's post wolfy (after looking at it again and considering insomnia could see it too). hence I re-framed it right after-"I fel like his thoughts are surface level 'ok fine' but my gut didnt believe he believe them". I admit now I can see why someone would prob say dya's post is scummy, so that is not really a question I have, I just really did not feel it when I was reading which is slightly slightly >rand scum because it is just >rand not real for page 2

like my newly reformed take is in a way abt opportunism.. surface-level I can see why dya's post would seem scummy (I assume I sorta get what TKON's thinking was) but as a villager in this game I didn't see it at all, so maybe it's scummy to hop onto that seemingly logically fine take. the stett thing (taking stett's towny spoiler and then treating that nugget differently from me) is kinda similar.

why gemma? I vaguely agree with the other 2.on the same line.

For gemma I only really remember loose questioning which sounds great but meant nothing to me.
It is the minimum hurdle of competence as either alignment.

Sheep posts wrt knights pinged me a bit about wanting it TOO much, like in some places it seemed like it started from the assumption

E.g. i think dya opening is neutral--> knkghts pushing it is wolfy

Idk i find the confidence and reasoning of his knights read a bit backwards (starts frkm knights wolf and thrn justifies it)

But (here comes the hedge eheh) when i used to play woth sheep like 3-4 years ago i mislunched them a bunch so ya

it's a little ego-y but I think i'm gonna townread ladd for this; I think the threadstate thing I posted before going to bed is one of those things that only crystalizes with a certain amount of experience and especially its relevance only really sticks out if you're thinking about the game in a certain way. Not that that way is explicitly good or the right way to play or anything, i'm really contorting my arm to avoid patting myself on the back here. But basically like, thinking about the game in terms of overall mafia archtypes and what kind of game it feels like compared to the breadth of your mafia experience, that is something it makes sense for ladd to recognize and then vibe with.

And in running the mental cross check for pocketing and TMI I don't like... exclude it categorically but it definitely feels more in the goldilocks zone than not.

I also think if that's actually a pocket w!ladd attempt I'm not sure he could resist a subtle prop or jab at the accuracy of the "0-1 wolves" thing? That's maybe stretching the mental map of ladd a bit too far to be comfortable. Feels right though.

i guess another thing i feel like bringing up is that newcomb feels too chummy to me. but it's a bad thing to say cuz it opens up for interpretation and also if he's villa i don't want him to think he needs to play some sort of way (ofc he wouldn't / shouldn't even warp his posting just to not be wolfread by me or anyone), but it definitely caught my eye. didn't wanna say anything cuz i reckon it's easier to tell with him once he just doesn't pound wolves with logic that opens up your third eye or something
