    Why Aries?
    He hates me!

Chances are most of the actives, shlin, reenk etc are likely innocent, and those who lurk like taka and glyphz win like previous, most active players sometimes without even realizing it, our the innocent ones even if there is some very circumstantial evidence against them at least they explain it, those that avoid the thread cannot answer questions, there worthless to town. They rarely vote and they make easy mafia bate even if they are town.

I read the summary of scourge of ephesus but not the game itself. Can someone who played in it compare glyphz posting there to this game?

edit: I just remembered something. Curio unvoted me to put Lord Winter in the lead. Worth considering for sure. Glyphz is probably the better choice, no excuse for that kind of lurking.

I am voting for glyphz as there he already has a vote and theres more chance it will be successful, since him, taka and gaius are all shifty IMHO

Gut instinct, more or less. Tevash's continued silence is giving me the bad vibes, but could be nothing. I do however remember that Tevash was (one of the) first to elect shlin28 (again could be nothing, but just pointing it out)
Saw the discussion against Gaius(& me), but I do not have the time right now check on Gaius' behavior.

Eh, this is why the town loses so many games. So many people just lurking by not posting much that it's hard to pick out the mafia. "RL stuff"...comparison to ephesus would be helpful in determining how likely this is.

I don't necessarily believe it, but I haven't checked how frequent he has been online and there are still lurkers that haven't addressed themselves at all.

    Day 8

As the day dragged on, Chief of Police shlin28 gradually dropped his facial expression from that of a wicked grin (in anticipation of using his awesome lynch method on somebody) in favor of lots of nervous glances. Sweat started to run down his face as it became clear that he was in the lead in votes.

There was a lot of opposition to the shlin execution movement, however, they were utterly disorganized, every single individual throwing his vote in a different direction. Eventually, after somewhat extending the process in a last-ditch effort to survive, shlin closed the voting.

"All right," he said to the small crowd gathered in the Gameroom Park, "by a count of 5-1-1-1-1-1, I'm dead. I shall perform my final duty in the same way I have performed my other duties as Gameroom Chief of Police: to the full extent of my abilities."

The Chief's "aides" all broke out into tears, running over to their boss and "consoling" him for a couple of minutes before shlin finally motioned them away. With lipstick all over his face, shlin, now wearing a slight grin, made the announcement to the crowd what the execution would be.

"Okay folks," he said, "I have here four small hot air balloons. Each balloon will be tied, via rope, to one of my limbs. Naturally, these balloons will float, taking me along with them. Now, I'm sure you people that voted for me will be happy to join in the next part. You'll notice the ten cannons nearby? It will be your job to load them with fireworks as well as sharks with frickin' lasers. These cannons have been set at a precise angle, so don't mess with 'em. Most likely I will die due to shark bites, the lasers, or the explosions from the fireworks. However, in case I don't, there is still a backup plan." He pointed to an open-ceiling salt hut slowly dissolving in the Gameroom Pond.

"Boombox guy, 'Taps', if you please", shlin said, and the man with the boombox obliged, even saluting the soon-to-be-former Chief of Police.

Slowly, shlin's aides tied the four balloons' ropes to his limbs, and eventually, he rose up into the air, waving goodbye to everybody. After about a minute, he shouted down. "FIRE THE CANNONS!" All ten cannons were fired, and everybody watched as the sharks with frickin' lasers and fireworks launched right for shlin.

The lasers flashed everywhere, the fireworks exploded in a multitulde of colors, and one shark even bit a grasp of shlin's shoulder. However, aside from a few burns and bruises, shlin was pretty much unharmed. He couldn't say the same for the balloons, however, as they were all ruined due to the stuff fired at them.

shlin screamed as he dropped right into the open-ceilinged salt hut...

...followed by the sharks with frickin' lasers and a couple of fireworks with longer fuses than the rest. After it was all over, nobody found any trace of the former Chief of Police's body.

Everybody was about to go home, however, the clouds opened up and a beam of sunlight descended upon Reenk Roink. Reenk, just as confused as everyone else, looked around in shock.

"I feel oddly compelled to go to shlin's office and assume his former position," he said, unsure of the words coming out of his mouth. Nobody else had a problem with that, and they all went their separate ways.

    Day 8 tally:

shlin28: 5 (pevergreen, taka, Beefy187, Gaius Scribonius Curio, glyphz)
Andres: 1 (Reenk Roink) (Reenk forgot to unvote, thus leaving his vote on Andres valid.)
    glyphz: 1 (White_eyes:D)
    Reenk Roink: 1 (Chaotix27)
    Gaius Scribonius Curio: 1 (Andres)
    taka: 1 (777Ares777)

Oh My God. My self lynchings have to be the least effectual ever. I mean I didn't even get this vote to count.

I cannot believe you guys let me go just because I vote for myself and made a give up post! Come on, it could have easily been a trick! Too bad the Godfather didn't choose me.

I didn't want to see shlin go, but I will say this you did a great job sir, much better than I could have done (and now it's on me ). You made the game funny and I enjoyed your humorous posts even when there were times of tension. You also did a good job of defending yourself and I for one believed you.

Atpg: about that quote sorry there was supposed to be a laugh smiley there, it was meant as a good hearted tease and I'm really sorry because it did sound mean.

I still am not a fan of SkyNet though.

Now with the 10000000 trillion dollars I won from ATPG, I shall live happily ever after in a tropic island in the middle of nowhere with my loyal "assistants"!

I think removing Reenk's ability to vote is a positive thing. No offense, Reenk.

With shlin dead and the game not over, I am currently out suspects. The rest of you living people all look a bit scummy to me, so I shall sit back and observe for a while. I'll speak up if I see something worth mentioning, but will keep quiet otherwise.

Unless they got something to say.

Won't be me. Though they were very well done, I didn't see anything useful in those analyses. As someone (Sasaki?) pointed out, even deviation from normal posting frequency didn't seem to indicate innocence or guilt for anyone. I think most of the Org mafia players have simply gotten too sophisticated to be caught by such a system.

another thing that has got us by the is that.....we messed up....shlin never should have been lynched....I am more worried about the lurkers...many who are left have not really said much... we also scrambled our votes EVERYWHERE....makes it easier for the Godfather and his grunts(?) to hide.....

If we're going for a lurker, then I strongly advice to take out Curio.

I won't be able to vote though, since I'll be out of town from tomorrow morning until Monday afternoon/evening, with no internet.

If nothing suspicious/incriminating can be found in the posts of people who are active, it's probably decent advice to lynch the lurkers.

@ Beefy: Apparently my last post was 'scummy'.

Andres: Everything you have said in response to ATPG's questions with regards to your accusations against is true. It was neutral, it was complimentary to others, and I voted when the post itself seemed to come to very little actual conclusion. To these particular points I shall respond.

Neutrality: Since when have I not been neutral. I'm not the sort of person that bandwagons shamelessly, I don't tend to hold grudges, I certainly don't tend to aggressively go after people (except in exceptional circumstances, as discussed below). I prefer to give everything that I am considering at the time a thought or explanation, and if I am undecided then I shall say quite openly, that I'm undecided. I'm also just the sort of obnoxious person that thinks they are always right and doesn't like being contradicted, as such I attempt to think of any major challenges to my thoughts that may arise, and post them too, so noone can go, 'I told you so...'

Compliments/ Flattery: As my friends say I want to be loved. A major character fault in these sort of games I know. Mafia VIII I went after disco quite hard (I was mafia), and he rebuked me quite harshly. I immediately sent him a PM apologising for my harsh words, but asking for a more concilatory defence (he also posted as such in the thread if I recall correctly). In fact I dislike anybody acting aggressively towards me, as such I tend to be very concilatory, and if I think that somebody deserves congratulations, or a defence then I shall oblige. In fact the only time that I've acted quite aggressively were in Mafia VIII (mafiosi) and the latter stages of Midgard II (where you are quite correct LG
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
I was a god, and part of a townie network that had been infiltrated, I knew this and was trying desperately to find out how everything had collapsed so quickly, leading to me attempting to destroy the network from the inside, it didn't work well....
    ).

Voting: Possibly your best point. Yes based on my points and the neutral tone the most likely option would have been an abstain. However at the time, my line of thought was that a vote for someone would be better than no vote. The most persuausive argument that had been made that day was by Tincow against Shlin, and nobody has given any thought to my suspicions of Quintus (ergo to vote for him again would be a wasted vote...).

The only other thing people seem to hold against me is my lurking. Since lurking is reading and observing whilst saying nothing, I say to you look at the times I've been online, and how often I have spent observing. I've been working almost every day and have sporting commitments, but I haven't not missed a vote and have at least acknowledged my presence when I haven't posted a thought out opinion. I can see where this in itself is an issue, but rest assured that next week when I'm back at uni, and not working so much my activity level will jump. Be back tomorrow...

True, but at least its giving the players some direction to go to. Right now none of the living players looks particular guilty, and no one’s really sure what to do. Seems most people are satisfied with lynching a lurker right now.

    Night 8

Chaotix27 was living in the newly built, Gameroom bomb shelter prepared by the previous Chief of Police for his own protection. After the recent bombing of LittleGrizzly and over half of his neighborhood with it, Chaotix27 was more then a little nervous about having visitors. He waited by the corner of the bomb shelter telling himself, "The Godfather is dead, yes, we lynched him today there's nothing to fear" holding his knees and rocking back and forth while saying this.

Then he heard a knock on the bomb shelters vault door almost giving him a heart attack. "Who is it? what do you want? are you with the Mafia?" Chaotix27 blurted out. The person behind the vault door responded with "No, I was just dropping by to tell you that the Godfather has been confirmed lynched, and we are all stopping by the new Chief of Polices house, to have some drinks". "Rea-really?" Chaotix27 stuttered, "yeah" said the voice behind the door. After this, the voice behind the door said "are you gonna come or what?" Chaotix27 responded with "OK, just give me a minute to open the vault door".

When he opened the vault door, he saw the voice that spoke from behind the door was a man in a business suit and hat. "Ready to go and die?" the man asked. Chaotix27 tried to shut the vault door but was too late as the man readied a switch blade and quickly ran towards him, Chaotix27 saw this and then tried to protect himself by grabbing the mans hands. The man saw this and moved the blade swiftly towards Chaotix27 throat, cutting it cleanly as if he had done it a hundred times before. As Chaotix27 started choking to death on his own blood, the man merely whistled quietly to himself, while preparing something in the center of the bomb shelter. Twenty minutes later there was a HUGE explosion coming from the bomb shelter, that was felt across the gameroom. All that was found at the scene was a DVD entitled "For Reenk", just outside the bomb shelter.

Chief of Police Reenk Roink knew nothing of this, however, as he was deep within the catacombs of shlin28's old office, making preparations. Of course he knew that there would be a murder; the confirmation of such would only waste time. Reenk would be efficient, if nothing else.

Nobody knew where Reenk was though, until an incedibly-magnified voice boomed throughout the Gameroom, easily drowning out the sound of the "Atom Heart Mother Suite" by Pink Floyd, coming from the boombox.

"COME TO THE GAMEROOM SQUARE," the announcement boomed. "YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO." Everybody obliged, and the voting began.

I don't like post grunge very much, but thank you for the gesture anyway. Thanks for getting rid of Chaotix too in such a blatantly obvious way that it clears me much better than I could do myself.

I URGE EVERYONE TO VOTE ANDRES

Town's been shooting itself in the foot the last couple days. I do believe glyphz and curio should be up next--curio despite his putting LW into the lead. I would have to reread the circumstances of that anyway.

edit: when this game is over I'm going to post a rant about townies who don't post enough to reveal anything about themselves. It's hard to get a clear picture of about half the people remaining. Glyphz is #1 imo.

    Why Andres?

I thought you were gunning for Chaotix? Obviously he's dead now... but why Andres?
