As always, my work is 100% original, custom and created from scratch. This one in particular is created from images that are layered and reworked, additional special text and background, and a custom texture. I'm quite happy with the result, and the old Soviet style posters does make communism look good, which is the effect I was going for.

Edit: I uploaded it to imageshack and then added the image code in my signature, but I was wondering how I could make it bigger?

When you upload it, you will see a couple of links that Imageshack creates. You want the one that says "hotlink for forums" or something similar. What you have now is a thumbnail. If you are unsure, experiment with all the links by previewing them in the signature field.

Oh, and when you upload to Imageshack, make sure that no picture resizing option is chosen.

I usually put these tags [IMG] followed by the address to the picture such as for example http://www.imageshack.com/img/90463 and [/IMG] at the end. This should display the picture cleanly without linking to anything.

I LOVE the sig, but the text seems to purposely (or at times accidentally) misspelled to create a faux-Cyrillic look. The text means to say "Narod i Armiya Yedinni" or "The People and the Army are One" (translated by meaning rather than literally), but actually, it says Ndrod i Drmiya Edinb and an English "i" in the end of the last word, which does not mean anything in Russian.

The last two letters in the last word in the sig are an attempt to recreate the letter (more correctly the sign) "ы", but what you did was put "Б" and "i" for a bad impersonation. The first and third "Д" (sounds exactly like the letter d) should be replaced with "A" and the "H" (sounds exactly like the letter n) should be replaced with "И". Also, the "Є" should be dropped out in favour of "E".

Finally, the the correct way to write what you meant to say would be to put "НАРОД И АРМИЯ ЕДИНЫ"

It isn't actually misspelled, but the font I used (called Kyrilla) is not an actual Cyrillic font but a faux one, as you noted. It's probably designed to overexaggerate the foreign look of Russian text in the eyes of a westerner. Therefore, some characters get warped or switched when trying to write actual Russian. Here is the text I tried to duplicate:

I'm sorry if you feel offended but I will not change the text. I'll admit that when I designed the sig, I didn't count on an actual Russian person to read it, but merely wanted a reasonably accurate impression of Cyrillic text that looks like we westerners imagine it to look (which is very very foreign).
Latin or Arabic is also a bit "gibberish" to us brutes, and people often have a romantic and stereotyped picture of what these languages look and sound like.

many fonts are downloaded, if a site doesnt have an authentic russian font then we can't use it unless you hand draw it, which is terribly hard.

Hey, I am looking for a sig because the bottom of my posts are bland and I loved the USSR style, especially as it looked like a great properganda poster from the Soviet Union, which is probably what you were going for. I am looking for an Empires themed sig with the words, The Sun Never Sets In the Empire. Preferably I would like a line of redcoats with some kind of effects on them, but to be honest I would like something original.

If you need me to get you some kind of image then just say so, or even if it is a too big demand I will ask for something simpler. Thanks in advance.

I made i just last night, about 3 hours to figure out what I wanted and to find the images.

The person is rendered by myself (hence why it's not amazingly good), background is a stock photo, text is F'Donkulous (1001fonts.com) and some gradients and brush patterns applied.

Any good?

I'm not really looking to have a sig made, but since this is a thread about making them I thought I'd ask about your opinions of some I've made to replace my old one. Not sure which one I like best..

I've been messing around with Picasa, which I know is far from the best medium to make these things...






















The one I go with will obviously be sized down some. Any input would be appreciated, I like them all.
