Well it would seem obvious, they have an army on my border still from last turn. They never intended peace.

There's no making peace with bullies. When Savoy left, their claims on Italy left with them. And they never even publicly claimed Italy.

France didn't claim it either. His reasons for declaring war on me are illegitimate. And I was going to give him the land I got from Spain. I rather thought it was a diplomatic coup on my part, that he was going to benefit from.

The French snob gets nothing, deserves nothing, and will BECOME nothing.

Knowing ATPG "Who conquered Medieval 2 as the turks in only 40 turns?" he will likely out maneuver France...:

The wars on here are going to make it hard to win...or even total eliminate your opponent

Even if he has one hex left, he still will muster troops and annoy you

Oh I predict France will crush me this turn. But the current state of affairs is such that most nations presently have cause to see France die. No one wants to see a belligerent and unfriendly France turn into a superpower, and France has already made several enemies.

I can't believe he'd pick his tiny neighbor and friendly ally to declare war on first. Utterly foolish maneuver.

Guys, claims on neutral territory mean ABSOLUTELY NOTHING in this game. If I said "I claim Ireland!" no ones gonna listen to me. Hell, if I said "I claim Georgia!" and someone else was bordering it and that was the best way to expand, they would take it. And no one is going to listen to a bum who says he claims Italy when he's 10 hexes away and just started war with a friendly nation.

Too long have my peoples been subjugated to the cold, harsh, unforgiving winters of Poland and/or Lithuania.

Should I find any Italian territory in my possession, it is merely to hold it until I transfer it to my Polish friends. You know, Milan is lovely this time of year.

I would just like to add that there will be a Dutch settlement near the Polish beaches of Italy, filled with Austrian citizens. And they will eat Turkish cuisine and sip Spanish wine.
