ANNOUNCEMENT: THE GATE TO THE BIO-LAB HAS BEEN OPENED.

November 28th, 7:45 PM (Phase Eight)

    CUE THE MUSIC

The man stood on the rooftop, aiming his shiny golden sniper rifle directly at the figure shuffling down in the streets below. From his rooftop fortress, he could fire at will and keep himself safe at the same time, while also seeing further than he usually could, thanks to his sniper weapon. He held his breath and gently squeezed the trigger. The Dragunov discharged, and the bullet streaked through the night sky, impacting the figure... but only slightly. Other than a hole torn through clothing, there was no damage.

The sniper cursed, and tried for a second shot, but it was too late. The figure sprinted north, and hid from sight. He contemplated chasing after the figure down below, but also considered simply finding a new target.

The long train ride was no time for rest. Ingrid paced around while the others engaged in civil conversation. Sure, they were planning something, but the best laid plans...

More important than planning, was deciding and acting. She gripped her pair of automatic pistols and waited. Checking out the windows, there was only darkness. Surely, even in these dark times, there would be an eventual end to the darkness... a light at the end of the tunnel. One could only hope.

Hope... that's a funny concept. It doesn't change the facts of the situation: The tunnel could be collapsed. There could be zombies everywhere. There could be assassins lying in wait. The power could go out and they could all get trapped down here. Hope doesn't change any of those things. Hope can mislead you into false confidence, and false action. Or even inaction, which they simply could not afford. Ingrid knew... time was running out. This city would be swallowed by the darkness, just as this gathering of survivors had been swallowed inside the dark tunnel. Would they emerge alive?

The train slowed to a stop.... and the doors opened.

Cindy ducked behind the polished rows of seats. The bloody corpse in the middle of the room was plenty of warning that danger was around. Not to mention, she had seen the assassin enter the building. She knew that he was probably still around. She tried to keep hidden. It would have worked, if she hadn't already been spotted. From somewhere high above her, a man with shiny golden pistols dropped down, and landed right behind her. The man stood and raised his weapons just as she turned around to face him.

    *BANG BANG*

One of the bullets impacted her below the shoulder, causing severe internal damage. She counterattacked with the rifle, turning just in time to fire one of two rounds into her attacker, but her aim wasn't very good. The man fired once more at point blank range, shooting her in the stomach.

Reacting quickly, she ran and crashed through the window, and rolled out into the street. There, she clutched her bleeding wounds and ran off as fast as she could, still clinging to life.

"Please! Help me! You've got to kill this thing!" shouted Tyler.

Olga responded. She charged toward the creature, her SL8 Rifle in hand, and fired rapidly into its chest. The towering foe, not even remotely human, swung a massive claw at Olga, knocking her down. She rolled out of harm and fired once more, aiming for the chest and head of the thing. The rifle rounds impacted everywhere, causing the creature to roar with frustration. However, it didn't seem to be in any PAIN.

The thing grabbed her and started dragging her closer and closer, preparing to spray its paralytic slime all over her body. She fired again, at close range, wounding the creature just enough to release the grip. But it swung it's massive claw once again, slashing her back, and causing severe wounds all across her spine. She needed to withdraw and take care of those wounds before she ended up dead. She took off into the nearby building, and started bandaging herself up. Looking back, she saw the large creature hand the paralyzed man over to another figure that had just arrived... a large tentacled demon.

Tyler, although usually a very brave man, could not help but PANIC.

Ingrid stepped off the train and tumbled to the ground, rolling to avoid being hit. She aimed forward, and then to the sides, looking all around for danger. Seeing none, she twisted back around to see a man clinging to the side of the train, bleeding from the stomach. She had seen him before. Without hesitation, she fired.

Sam Hunnigan watched it happen in slow motion. Both pistols unloaded simultaneously... and he felt the impact of each bullet.

    One.

    Two.

    Three.

    Four.

This was the end, he knew it... there would be no way he could survive this. He fumbled for his weapon, but he couldn't aim. His body was paralyzed by the pain and the sudden shock of it all.

    Five.

The bullet impacted him in the heart. He cursed at the young woman, and cursed the name of Scott Kennedy. An almost inhuman roar came out of Sam Hunnigan's throat.

    Six.

The final bullet impacted him in the brain. Then there was silence.

    CUE THE MUSIC.

The sniper's bullet almost impacted Arnold Grande in the head. Wounded already from previous battles, and with seemingly no escape, the man in the long black coat unsheathed his Golden Lugers, and stepped out from the shadows underneath the bridge.

The group was ready for him. They had spotted him before, and were eager to pay him back for his misdeeds. But Colmillo, as he was known in Spain, had decades of training, and hundreds of kills to his name. They had no idea what they were about to face. He was known as "the Fang" for a reason.

First, he aimed at the sniper standing at the far end of the bridge, and with a single shot, blew her head clean off. Veronica King fell to the ground, lifeless.

Next, he sidestepped, to avoid the incoming fire, and twisted his body just enough to dodge Edward Marini's shotgun blast. He fired, and he hit Greg Patrick clean in the eye. His body also crumpled to the ground.

With a Luger in each hand, he returned fire at Edward Marini, just as George Rodruigez started shooting his RCP90.

Edward Marini felt the bullet hit him in the neck, blowing a hole in the side of it large enough to fit a fist through. Everything had happened so fast... but it was now over. As his consciousness faded, the last moments of his life were nothing but a haze of blood and gunfire. He saw the wounds as they appeared on the chest of the trenchcoat-wearing assassin. He hoped they would be fatal ones. He fell to the ground, and looked over at his partner George, and was saddened to see that George had also taken a fatal wound. A bullet went clear through his head, and the exit wound destroyed the back of his skull. He fell to the pavement, dropping his RCP90.

Edward saw Colmillo take 5 bullets to the chest. The man was still gripping his weapons as if nothing had happened. He couldn't believe that the man was still standing after the punishment he had taken. He tried to raise his shotgun and finish the man off, but he couldn't lift his arm anymore.

Arnold Grande turned around and began to walk toward the other end of the bridge, leaving a massive trail of blood behind. His hand released the weapons, and they clattered against the ground. His steps became heavy, and his knees began to buckle. Suddenly, he stopped, and fell face first into the pavement.

Edward Marini faintly smiled as he saw this... they had gotten the bastard.

The smile faded when he saw all his friends, lying dead next to him. The cost was too great.

Edward wasn't much for regrets. But he wished that he could have gotten them all out of there alive. On the bright side, Colmillo would never harm anyone again. And with that thought in his mind, he drifted off into eternal sleep.

Mister Kendo gripped his Killer7, aiming it left and right, scanning for anyone who might be around. He advanced, heading toward the building up ahead.

He spotted her... she must have followed him in. She was staying in the shadows. He recognized her... that was Claire Raval, the Umbrella Special Forces Assassin! He readied the pistol and prepared to end her life. She spotted him, too, and pulled out a pair of pistols, ready to do battle.

But they weren't alone. The darkened buildings all around them held a secret... there was something waiting for them. From all directions, they came.... it seemed like there were hundreds of them. They crawled out from the bushes, the jumped off from the rooftops, they burst through the windows, and they surrounded the two humans. They were hungry... they were vicious... and they were wielding all manner of weaponry. Knives, pipes, pitchforks, and torches. Claire was caught off-guard. She did not expect to be surrounded so quickly... now she had other things to deal with besides the man standing next to her. They turned their backs to one another, and fired into the crowd.

With a Custom Eagle in one hand, and her Custom Beretta in the other, the Umbrella Assassin went to work, shooting them one by one, not bothering to aim, only to squeeze the triggers as rapidly as possible. But they weren't stopping... the bullets weren't enough to even slow them down.

The first zombie lunged at her, and she quickly sidestepped the charging brute. A second one came grabbing at her arm, and she twisted it loose, unfortunately losing the Custom Eagle in the process, as it was wrenched from her grip by the zombie. She delivered a swift kick to the creature's head, knocking it down. She delivered a fan kick to the third zombie that approached, sending it flying into its comrades.

She was then tackled from behind by a lurching corpse, and it bit down on her neck and tore at the flesh viciously, ripping a chunk of it away from her body. She couldn't get away! And it bit down on her again, this time in the shoulder, with inhuman strength. She cried out in pain, and then headbutted the creature. It wouldn't let her go, so she reached back and shot in in the head, causing it to release its grip.

She was gushing blood from her neck, and she turned to finish it off, when she was mauled at the leg by a zombified dog! It ripped her leg open with its fangs, and she quickly turned to shoot it off of her, but she couldn't break free. She fell to the ground and she was pulled away from Kendo, towards the horde. She kicked the dog off of her, and weakly got back to her feet, aiming the Beretta at the swarm. Then, a very cunning zombie jumped off a nearby rooftop, butcher knife in hand, and tackled her to the ground, and began stabbing her in the chest. She fought back, but she couldn't stop the blade from penetrating her heart.

Dozens more zombies crowded around the fallen woman, and began to literally tear her limb from limb. She let out one final, bloodcurdling scream, as they began to feast on her torso. The leader of the group, Annette Burnside, devoured her still-beating heart, ripping it apart with her fangs and relishing the warm blood pouring down her face.

Frank Kendo wasn't having much better luck. After being slashed in the chest by one of the zombies, he delivered a leg sweep and knocked it to the ground. A trio of zombies came after him, and he sidestepped the first one, and hit the second one with a a mid-air kick to the chest, sending it flying into its companion. But the next zombie was a bit luckier, and bit him in the arm before being pistol whipped and kicked off of Frank. The Annette Burnside zombie charged at him, with a zombified dog leading the way, and Frank had to think fast. He catapulted himself off of one of the zombies he had knocked on its knees, and vaulted from its back over the pair of undead attackers, landing safely out of the circle of death.

Now Frank could have run away, as there was a clear path to safety, but instead he turned around and unleashed hell.

With a pair of bullets, he shot the next zombie he saw in the head. He turned and aimed at the zombie dog that was chasing him down, and ended that puppy's miserable life with a single bullet through the skull. He shot another staggering zombie in the chest, and when it didn't stop advancing, he removed its head with another bullet. A fourth zombie approached, getting too close, and he shot it in the knee, causing it to fall to the ground. Laying prone, it was easy pickings for Kendo's final bullet, aimed at the back of the head, which blew the skull into a thousand pieces.

Frank had counted his bullets, and when he heard the telltale click click of an empty weapon, he tucked it back into its holster and unsheathed his Wakizashi blade.

He severed the arm of an approaching zombie, and kicked it to the ground. There was only one more zombie standing between him and Annette Burnside. He lunged, impaling it through the chest, and swiftly withdrew the blade, then decapitated the zombie.

Annette charged towards Kendo, butcher knife at the ready, and Frank sliced into her collar, digging the blade deep into her chest in a downwards diagonal strike, trying to sever the creature in half, in badass style. But the blade stopped halfway, and Annette seemed almost unaffected by the wound. She stabbed Frank in the chest, but the blade was stopped by his kevlar vest.

He withdrew the blade and prepared to finish her off, but he saw that he was about to be surrounded once again, so he fled the scene with his life intact, and 5 kills to his name.

The zombie horde scattered, heading off in many different directions, looking for more fresh meat. Only Annette and one of the zombies were left behind, as they were both wounded. Although a great blow had been struck against the zombie horde, there would be more coming.
