Thread: Vbulletin upgrade

Wow...haven't been here in a while...new forum looks meh.
And when the brazen cry of achilles
Was heard among the trojans, all their hearts
Were troubled, and the full-maned horses whirled
The chariots backward, knowing griefs at hand...

Started on creating a skin. It's really learning the ropes again, so it will take time to get it right.

Is it that different, or can you copy and paste chunks of it, but you need to get it in the right places, etc. As some things changed which need extra code? etc

Gotta say, what you've done already has improved reading the forum markedly, for me at least!

It seems to be a common feature of VBuletin forums that the Quick Reply text box likes to play air hockey with your typing cursor. :

I am now using "The Guild" style.

I like what I am seeing so far. It is much better, albeit the posts themselves are still a bit white for my taste.

I'm still working on our own styles, but it's going to be a lot of trial and error (I can't invest every hour of the day). I've checked the fan made styles and I guess style breeze is at least better than the vanilla one.

I'm using The Guild skin and I would like to point out that "Notifications,My Profile,Settings,Log out" buttons on top of the page are not visible. You can notice them only when hovering your cursor over them.
Other than that this is a nice skin. Like it better than that Vanilla one.

EDIT: Seeing that things change here every minute or so I'll check the forum tomorrow..
    Anyway, good job so far!

Still working on it, getting the hang of it. There seem to be more elements to control. So, for a real artist it should be very possible to get something very nice and subtle.

On the default skin, the font colours are currently light grey on even lighter grey.

This color, as it is, is an enormous, mega-improvement.

Just to clarify, I meant the font for the posting times, as shown in the index. Go to any forum or forumset and you'll see what I mean.

Do they still exist? Are they backed up? Will they work like they used to?

Tosa: would it be possible to restore the full width posts, instead of the margins left and right? That would save about half a page per mega post (1280x800); like some of our forum members (including me ) have a habit of writing. Thank you in advance,

I love that the brown is back, thank you so much, Tosa.

I just noticed that in the list of threads the color of the time of the last post is in the same color as the background so it not readable. But I guess you already noticed that.

Just one more thing. I noticed that it is no longer possible to see if the recipient of a pm to has read it or not, any chance that feature will return?
Or am I just too stupid to see it?

    Hello Joooray,

That was always an option that needed to be toggled to on in the vanilla versions. It was modified to be on by default, but that's not done yet in this version. I sure hope to do so, it's one of the many tweaks that make it easier to use.

    Greetings Tosa

I am having an error in my Resident Evil Game Thread.

I have several of the images in spoilers, but the spoilers do not open when you click on them, but that only happens if there are several spoilers in one post. The posts with fewer spoilers allow the spoilers to open, which is even more odd.

    https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showt...=1#post2403205

EDIT: Even odder, now that I follow the link I provided, the spoilers open. But then a different post... the spoilers didn't open for that one, until I clicked on the post number and re-loaded the page.

    Odd bug

    Hello Askthepizzguy,

Those work/don't work bugs are often the hardest to fix. It works for me on Firefox. Those spoilers expect something from your browser. When you have opened them before, they may still feel they are.

Would it be possible to look at last post time? They're currently light grey on lighter grey, and are nearly invisible.

I haven't found all variables yet, but it's getting closer.
