The skies above them all began to rumble....
Vance spotted the creature, which had doubled back in the opposite direction, much to his surprise. He chased it down as best he could, and aimed his Golden Dragunov at the creature. His aim wasn't very good, and he merely clipped the creature in the shoulder, which quickly regenerated.
The creature spotted Vance, and raced toward him at blinding speed. The creature pulled out a samurai blade, and was upon him in seconds. Vance withdrew his own blade, and met the oncoming blow with his own deadly steel. The creature's eyes were glowing white, and moving faster than Vance could even see. He was forced to back up steadily, and deflect the blows as fast as his reflexes would allow. This creature was fast, but not particularly skilled at using the weapon. Still, one false move and Vance would be dead, because each of the rapid swings was directed at a vital area... this creature meant business.
"I know that you're in there somewhere, Yuri.... there's no need for this. Leave us alone, and go hunt elsewhere!"
The creature just snarled and continued with the deadly swings.
"You can't win... now leave before I have to finish this! There is still good in you... escape while you still can!"
The creature laughed and replied:
"It is too late for me, Vance... and it will soon be too late for you as well. If you wish a quick and painless death, lower your sword. Or just allow the virus to transform you into something far more glorious... far superior to your weak, primitive flesh! It doesn't matter what you choose, because there is no escape from your inevitable death!!!"
The creature sliced deep into Vance's arm, causing him to spurt blood everywhere. It was a deep wound, possibly fatal if he didn't get medical attention.
"I didn't want to have to do this, but you leave me no choice...."
Vance suddenly found the strength to press forward. He held his wounded arm at his side, and turned his body so that he could attack with the Wakizashi as if it were a foil. He was able to deflect Yuri's blows and keep his body safe behind the blade. He was a much better swordsman than Yuri, and deflected Yuri's furious strikes with ease.
Up in the sky, there was the sound of thunder and the flash of lightning.
The flashes of lightning illuminated Yuri's twisted face. Her eyes were cold, and faintly glowing. She had a look of pure malevolence upon her. The rain began to fall in a severe downpour.... quickly filling the street with splashing puddles as they battled. Vance's blade continued to strike against Yuri's... and she grew more frustrated, more contemptuous of Vance, whereas Vance remained calm and focused.
Yuri was now the one moving backwards, warding off Vance's blows. She tried to become even more aggressive, swinging wildly and without purpose, just in sheer rage and madness. Vance deflected one blow, and moved in. He was underneath the blade, and with a flick of his wrist, he twisted the samurai blade out of Yuri's hands and came in for the kill. He slid the blade deep into her chest, impaling her all the way through, and then kicked her in the knee, knocking her to the ground, and delivered a swift roundhouse to her jaw, sending her skidding into the flooded ditch.
Yuri was not finished, because she immediately got up and attacked Vance, charging at him unarmed, trying to rip his face off. With another smooth motion, Vance stepped aside and the blade slid through her stomach and the side of her torso. She didn't even react to the pain, she simply turned around and charged at him again. Vance ducked as she tried to tackle him, and he sliced off her leg, flipping her over onto her back, slamming her into the street once again.
Yuri cursed his name, but was quickly to her feet once more. Her leg was already starting to re-form, albeit not as sturdy as before. She searched through the rainwater, looking for her blade, so she could finish off Vance. When she found the blade, she turned around to face him again.... and he was gone.

Michael Otto gripped his Broken Butterfly... an antique weapon, but extremely powerful. He made his way through the streets of Dark Falls, searching for more pathetic fools to slay.
He stopped for a moment, listening carefully. There seemed to be noises nearby.
He was almost certain he saw something move in the darkness nearby. Michael Otto grinned... this must be his lucky day. He aimed at the movement in the shadows and fired. But to his surprise, the figure did not drop to the ground. In fact, it moaned loudly and charged forward from the darkness, accompanied by several others.
Michael turned and fired upon each of the figures coming towards him, but they were almost on top of him and he was using an antique revolver. There was no way he would be able to shoot them all, so he turned and started to run, only to find a group of zombies behind him as well. And to the left.... and to the right. Michael was entirely surrounded. He fumbled to try to put more bullets into the revolver, and aimed once more, and fired....
The Edward Marini transformation took 2 bullets to the chest, and fell to the ground. But the Ramon Regan transformation was on top of Otto in a flash, beating him to death with an iron rod. Greg Patrick impaled him in the side with a pitchfork (where did he get a pitchfork from?), and the Jack Davidson transformation threw a long butcher knife and impaled him in the neck. Soon enough, Edward Thompson tackled Otto to the ground and began biting his face, tearing the exposed flesh from his skull.
Michael Otto fired blindly into the horde of zombies with his revolver, but it was too late... Edward Thompson bit down on his throat and ripped it from his body.
