TheFlax tends to expect the worst concerning his own demise. In his mind though, Secura was an obvious kill choice, but he didn't see the kill on YLC coming. Since you had made up your mind, TheFlax had no chance to finish by saying that he preferred that you protect Secura rather than him. It is not proveable, but TheFlax is selfless like that. I also don't understand why TheFlax, if he was mafia, would warn you about one of his targets. I think he understand that anything he says on MSN can be used against him in the court of public thread opinion.

TheFlax realises he pushed for killing White_Eyes, he did vote for him in two rounds. Yet, by then, TheFlax had serious doubts about his very fallible instincts. Unfortunately, he didn't know who to choose from all the candidates at two votes. I have it from good authority that he was simply trying to avoid another bad lynch by giving more options to the Naib. Of course, atheotes made all of this talk pointless after only 15 min by voting for the defunct Mr. Eyes.

About 45 min before the end of the round, IIRC. Still, I see what you are getting at.

I had not jotted down atheotes as particularly scummy, so I would like to hear more about this "case" against him. I would look for the evidence myself, but since this is not a weekday, I will be away from the computer almost all day. In the meanwhile I will indulge you on your second choice since I cannot in good conscience vote for TheFlax, who is a known innocent to me.

    Vote: atheotes

Anyone could say the same to you, since random yelling is just about all you do. By the way, tell me again, how many of your picks for lynches were bad?! Csargo? Not guilty. Askthepizzaguy? Not guilty. Seon? Not guilty. (That's round 1, 2 and 3.) So you also have "yelled" the wrong names for 3 days. Awesome.

(I'm also sure this applies to many of us and probably to me to, that's how mafia works, but then again, we are not as awesomely good as The Stranger...)

I don't have any argument to defend myself. Look at this thread, I am doomed no matter what. But if abstaining is what's botherting you, fine you got it.

Why would a mafioso try hard just to get you lynched?

If it fails they usually just try to lynch someone else. Then you wind up dead a few days later.

#1: TheFlax, who continues to be ever-so-helpful over MSN. Yesterday's helpful suggestion was to protect Secura (or himself). Lovely ESP, that, just like Sasaki but in the opposite direction. He also offered to create a tie yesterday toward the end of the day, between white_eyes (then at four votes, including Flax's) and my choice (not his) of any of the several players then at two votes. Considerate, that, especially as poor white_eyes was a townie.

#2, who would have been my top candidate if Secura had not been killed and maybe still should be: Atheotes, who removed the option of any such tie creation by showing up to vote white_eyes only minutes before the end of the round. Who were you protecting, Atheotes? Atheotes has been scummy otherwise, as well, and I would greatly appreciate it if any of those who have discussed this with me in private or who have come to the same conclusion themselves would make the case, since I am away for the weekend and will not be able to.

As a bonus incentive for voting Atheotes, I already have a really nice death scene planned. But I'm sure I could come up with something for Flax as well. If you guys don't return me as Naib (and Diana is a fine choice if you don't), then please at least indulge me in this.

    elect: Renata

I'll reveal my protection choices if it's clear I'm not going to be re-elected. I didn't get a PM about last night, though I assume the result was the same.
you were trying to create a tie with 3 votes?

here is the tally for that phase:
White_Eyes:D: 5 (TinCow, atheotes, Romanic, TheFlax, Diana Abnoba)

Beskar: 2 (Captain Blackadder, The Stranger)
    The Stranger: 2 (Beskar, Choxorn)
    Romanic: 2 (White_Eyes:D, Beefy187)
    Beefy187: 2 (Jolt, pevergreen)
    Kagemusha: 2 (YLC, Secura)

your plans would have been foiled by me if i had voted for any of the five
If you wanted a tie, why didnt you say it in the thread along with any case you had? Surely that would have been a better way to achieve that instead of hoping no one votes for any of these people...

But i do agree that Flax is behaving outside his norm...and is in my list of suspicious people along with Beskar, Tincow and yourself

Nervous, Atheotes? That's not so hot on the reading comprehension. I did not want a tie. Flax came to me and suggested one, which made me aware of the voting situation, that anyone in white_eyes' bandwagon had the power to force a tie with any of the 2-vote candidates with a simple change of vote. That list of five contains at least a couple of decent candidates for mafia. Now what would a mafia teammate of someone in that list do? They'd chuck on the best vote they could make up for white_eyes. And that's what you did. Couple it with your scumminess in general; you're an excellent candidate for lynch today, though few seem to be listening.

And I have SUCH a good lynch scene ready for you. It'd truly be a shame to waste it.

can't think of anyone who would take their actions as a Naib more seriously and put more thought into their actions than Renata. I'm sure Diana would be great as well, but it's hard to compete with Renata. elect: Renata

I am willing to indulge her and vote: atheotes. With him we have a concrete reason (his vote switch), for most others it would just be gut feeling. I'll say more on that matter after the lynch though, to avoid falling into a mafia-esque trap.

    Day 7 - Conclusion

There wasn't much talk that day. The brotherhood decided that the youngest among them, Romanic was the one to be lynched today, for reasons unclear to the lynchee. What had he done? He was innocent!

But the decision was irrevertable. The daggers were looking for the Naib to perform the execution, but she seemed to be gone.

Suddenly, all dressed in black, Renata slowly strode forward.

"Our dearest Benjamin," Renata started. "I must say I am deeply impressed, young one. You're our newest member and yet, you did very well, until now. Unfortunately for you, your brothers and sisters think you could be a vampire. I don't necessarily agree and I think there are better suspects, but the brotherhood has decided. I cannot ignore the decision.

Since you're so young, however, I'd like to give you a chance to prove yourself and who knows, save yourself today."

Renata waited a brief moment and then she continued: "I challenge you to a sword duel."

Her words were barely cold as Renata unsheethed a silver blade. After a brief moment of reflection, she took the blade in her left hand.

"I don't want this to be over too soon," she said.

She handed a package over to Romanic. "Please put on this armor and cloths".

Romanic started to put on the armor and the garments.

A minute later, Renata asked: "Hey there. Are you doing ok?"

Romanic looked up, a bit annoyed. "I don't mean to be rude, but this is not as easy as it looks, so I'd appreciate it if you wouldn't distract me."

    "No problem, sorry."

    "Thank you."

A few minutes later, Romanic was ready and he unsheethed his blade.

The Naib calmly waited for Romanic to make the first move.

Quickly, the young dagger stepped forward, trying to kill Renata fast and clean, using the point of his blade. The Naib simply deflected the blow. Romanic stepped backward, paused and also took his blade in his left hand.

Now the Naib attacked, but the young dagger was strong. He parried the attack and riposted, causing Renata to step backwards. With a few quick blows, Romanic forced the Naib to keep stepping backwards. When she almost stumbled, Romanic struck with his blade for the final blow. Renata's reflexes saved her life and the blade barely missed her. However, the Naib lost her blade in the movement.

Romanic stepped forward and swung his blade. Renata jumped and then jumped again and then she jumped towards a post, made an acrobatic swing and came down next to her blade and picked it up in a gracious movement.

Romanic threw his sword next to that same post, jumped to it and made TWO acrobatic swings, after which he landed very gracious on his feet to take his blade again. Without hesitating, he attacked the Naib. The blades were swinging back and forth with the speed of lightning during this deadly dance. Suddenly, they stopped.

Renata was trying to catch her breath.

"You're... good... I must be ... getting... old."

Romanic looked a bit embarrassed. "I didn't expect to do so well, Naib. Maybe I'm just being lucky."

"Not lucky," Renata replied. "You're better than me."

Romanic smiled at the kind words, but something made him feel suspicious.

"However, I know something you don't know," Renata said, mysteriously.

"Let me guess. You're not left-handed and now you will defeat me in seconds with your right-hand?"

"Oh, I'm left-handed allright," Renata answered, laughing.

    Romanic looked confused.

    "It's just that..."

    "BANG!"

A rifle broke the silence. Romanic fell down, the bullet had made a hole between his eyes and his brains were splattered all over the courtyard.

    "... I cheat," Renata said.

Smoke on the rooftop gave away the position of the dagger who had been waiting for Renata's signal.

Slowly, the Naib stepped forward and seperated Romanics' head form his body with her blade.

Exhausted, the Naib put away her sword and looked at Diana Abnoba.

"You'll be our new Naib, sister. Good luck."

The daggers left the Generalife, except for one man: A Very Super Market. Still shocked by the spectacle, he walked towards Romanics' body. He picked up his sword and pierced it through his own belly, yelling "Goodbye, cruel world!"

What made me an obvious kill choice? Why didn't you suggest protection on me if that was your suspicion? It's a similar outcome to the first night, where people said "autolycus was an obvious kill choice" and yet nobody messaged me to protect him. -_-'

I think it would be nice to play a large game and actually make it to the last ten players or so ; I haven't made it to end-game in a 40+ since Noblesse Oblige... the first game I played here. Not sure whether that's the mafia perceiving me as a threat that needs neutering or something not as complimentary. Good luck to the rest of the town, though. :3

Good luck, Diana, I have a good feeling about this.

Also @ Andres -- that was sheer perfection, thank you.

Didn't you read the "case" against me? Renata suspects me because I did exactly that. I told her I thought you might be one of the targets. She then told me she had already chosen someone to protect. What more could I have done exactly?

Yes, I saw that... but what made me an obvious choice?

What more could I have done exactly?
Don't worry about it; it happens, alot unfortunately, but it's not your fault... or is it?
