    Welcome to step-parents.

You are not their child, and usually never will be. They will always prefer their children over you, and they have far less patience with you then they would give their own children.

If they never even had children themselves, the situation is even worse.

I only actually get on with my step-parents (both of them) since I am in adulthood and rarely see them.

Thats what my older brother says. Apparently he never got along with his step mom, but now he does since he only see's her once in blue moon.

I dont think she will warm up to me to much as time goes on and I never see them. My sister recently came back from NY and she got into a fight the first night back.

Last night i worked out a deal with my dad, since I can't get a job I have to start doing house maintenance and have to keep a B or above in my summer classes. My part of the deal being I want my privacy. Hopefully it works, it hasn't before but it might now.

If it's a step parent, get them drunk and have sex with them. Then use it as blackmail. (Where's DD at?)

Reinvent the British and you get a global finance center, edible food and better service. Reinvent the French and you may just get more Germans.

Try being polite and brief in conversation. Be understanding and agreeable even when it is not what you are thinking. Avoid interaction when you can. Unless you have already tried this it might work, otherwise, I have no useful advice.

if his step mom is a hot MILF, then it could be a great idea... but when she was another old hag...

Your dad is taking side for her because he fears he could loose her. So the best thing you can do imho is to prove that fear right. The only problem is I doubt she would go to bed with you. Why don't you hide male underwear where she keeps her stuff and let your dad find it? Or fake telephone calls. You know ...

I doubt he wants to hurt his own father. Sometimes you have to put up with the worse parts for the greater good.

I think Veho Nex has come about with the better idea, of trying to sort it out with his father. I think the father understands he is finding it hard, but his father is between a rock and a hard-place, he loves his son and he loves his new wife (I am amusing this is the case).

One of the otherways is simply not to put up a fight, even if she nags. Perhaps even on her birthday, or a mothers day something, approach her with a nice gift (infront of your father and possibly others) and go "I apologise for any of my actions which have upset you, I understand we have had our disagreements, I hope we can improve our relationship, Happy Birthday/Mothers day/whatever" (or similar). As this is sort of done publicly, it starts putting you on a moral highground position. When she gets upset with you about not washing dishes correctly, just simply "I apologise, I will attempt to improve", if they attempts to grab them off to you show, just simply pick up another and mimick.

Ultimately, the agenda is, to make you look like the good guy. If she is seen as the one causing the hassle and the fuss, it will formulate the position she is in the wrong. If she gets worse or stay bad, just go to your father, and go "Look dad, I know I am not perfect, I am trying my best. How do you suggest I improve things?".

This would get him onto your side of things, as he will see you as one getting pushed around needlessly, and might say something about it, or have a private chat with her, and hopefully the situation improves.

If all this fails, work on getting a job/going to uni/getting out of the house as realistically as possible, because it will never work.

I dont want to goto uni, im back from 12 hours of CC and still have more work before i can sleep. I dont know how you higher edumacation people do it.

Other than that, Beskar, I see what your getting at but its all what ive tried before. I even went as far as calling her mom a couple times to see if that improved her attitude towards me. She hasnt been around since I called her out to my dad about entering my room while I was away. I still don't know if she will go for my deal though. And yes, I dont want to hurt my father.
