Was playing as Knights of St. John, quickly clicking End Turn (since there's not much that changes when you're that small) and after a few too many clicks perhaps, this is what happened...

I have seen them. Just press the G several times and they appear.

All I want to know from CA is:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
"Romanes Eunt Domus"
- Brian of Nazareth
"We always have been, we are, and I hope we always shall be, detested in France."
- Arthur Wellesly
It is a known Easter Egg. Clicking "g" (government screen shortcut) repeatedly will result in the same effect.
Once you restart ETW, the kittens disappear.
On a different note, oh man........ I just noticed your ivory price and that (indiamen) stack of doom you have sitting on the node
Have you measured if the last indiamen you added actually earn ANYTHING beyond their upkeep?

I am not skilled enough to hack such a thing. I thought I had read another thread about this months ago, but couldn't be sure, so I figured I'd just go ahead and post this one.
There may be multiple triggers as this happened to me not from clicking G a bunch of times, but from using the mouse to click on the End Turn button faster than I usually do (since, as I said, as KoSJ there's not a lot to do from one turn to another).
On the Ivory trade ship stack of death, that was the only trade port not held by the time I was finally able to get a trade ship built, so I abused it thoroughly. I also used it as an opportunity to test the diminishing marginal return idea. Turns out the first one grants you 20 units and all others grant 15, even the last one. The diminishing returns come from the fall in market prices as your ships flood the market with Ivory. The size and length of that red arrow next to the Ivory price is because the last thing I did was drop the full stack back on the node. I've found prices tend to rebound eventually, as the population of your trading partners increases over time, while the number of units you produce does not, leading to another shortage and thus higher prices.

i didnt say you hacked; i said you edited the pic with potoshop or something. but i tried it and it does infact work.

Yes the are real! They were even mentioned pre game release…no photoshoping.
