Default Muntazer al-Zaidi Tribute Act! (Shoe tossed at Chinese PM)

Yes thats right another man has tossed a shoe, in Britain at the Chinese Prime Minister during his 3 day tour in britain!

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/7865868.stm

Muntazer al-Zaidi was the Iraqi shoe tossing Reporter, he seemed to have a far better aim, then again he was closer to his target than this Cambridge student whos shoe landed a metre away when from the back of the hall.

So who do you think is next? Robert Magabea hits a sandal with wad of Zimbabwean Dollars large enough to buy you a can of spam? Hugo Chavez blows a imperalist Nike trainer away with a AK47? Vladamir Putin has a Spy remove anyone wearing a shoe size larger than 7 before he does a speech? You decide!

Everyone attending political speeches will be required to go barefoot. Check your shoes at the door, ladies & gentlemen.

I'm really torn on this one.

Part of me backs the shoe thrower as the Chinese premier is the head of a system that even makes the one in the UK look good (and here the corruption is pretty endemic).

But pissing off China isn't pragmatically a good idea.

I think that Cambridge should have more class than let him in. Let him spend his tour in the parts of Britain that are already corrupted.

It's a shame that guy was allowed in Cambridge in the first place.

And it's a shame the student missed him, because I'm pretty sure he's not as good as good old Dubya at shoe-dodging.

Doesn't make much sense. Blatant copycat, and it misses the whole cultural significance of the shoe as insult. Plus, the shoe was probably made in China, and now the guy will have to buy another pair.

I thought I heard "Get out of here!" from the shoe-hurler, in a Chinese accent, as he was being escorted out. A countryman's protest?

There's got to be a way to make shoe-hurling an Olympic event, in time for London 2012.

Gotta standardize the shoe size, distance thrown; whether to make cardboard poli targets, or just measure distance and accuracy. Windage, elevation, hurler motivation can all be scorable, if we work at it. Much more fun than the shot-put. Maybe include some taunting audio from the targets.

I think it's clear we'll have to outlaw any underhand hurls, and allow only overhand. We'll probably need rules on pre-hurl wind-up.

Women's 5 inch spike heels will be absolutely forbidden, of course, though I admit to harboring a fondness for them.

Not a Chinese student/dissident apparently, but a European looking guy. I would say German because of his accent in the video.
