    Excellent.

Finally I can put away the saucepan helmet and dustbin lid shield I always wear whilst playing M2TW.

This is the era of well dressed soldiery and even better dressed Generals. It is also the era of fantastic facial hair and some of the best hats ever invented. If there is ever an era to be dressing up for, then this is definitely it.

The Org totally needs a fancy dress contest to see who can come up with the best costume. Bonus points for replica weapons and equipment.

I already owned a tricorne and captains coat before I even heard of Empire :P unfortunately if you wear then in public you get funny looks and/or insults and things thrown at you. So sad. :(

And don't let's forget the wigs!

I'm definitely hoping for some good wig/facial hair based ancillaries.

Full-Blown Handlebar: "This man's facial hair is so elaborate that he can barely talk through it, but it certainly unmans any enemy unfortunate enough to face him in combat." -1 Command, Scares Enemies.

Absurdly Pretentious Hairpiece: "This man wears a wig large enough to stop a cannonball, but it looks ridiculous and is hardly practical on the march" +1 Hitpoints, -1 Morale, -25% Movement.

I'm also hoping for that most dreaded of military technologies, the sideburn, to be included as a researchable late game technology alongside the steamships and machine guns.

Well here are some more uniforms. Mostly army but a few choice naval uniforms.

For those who just want to see lots of uniforms pictured for the American Revolutionary War…

Oh yes, if we are moving on, would anyone be interested in some slightly used chain mail.

If it wasn't so expensive I'd love an overcoat.

Tricorne hats are actually pretty commonly available and reasonably cheap. Go and find a decent costumers shop that caters to theatre and you should find they have a few.

I might have the wrong impression, but I think that Methuselah may very well be living in back of beyond.

The Great Prairies of the central United States and Canada are not widely renowned for their shopping opportunities.

Minneapolis and Calgary have some of the largest shopping mauls* in the world, but it doesn‘t mean he is near to them.

Maybe you should ship him one?

You're right, didn't think of that. Guess it's because if you live in England you're never more than a dozen or so miles away from a decent sized town or city.

It should be possible to find somewhere online prepared to deliver though, albeit for slightly more money than shop-bought.

And I would send him a hat if he was prepared to pay for buying and shipping it :P but it would probably be easier and cheaper to go through a store.

Under those conditions I would also be happy to supply you with your much needed Leaderhosen. I am sure you have English billy goats and chickens a plenty.

Awww man. Now people who haven't read my post in the dream thread must think one of us is really, really weird. And not even for the right reasons! (I am pretty weird in person)

To be fair though I do actually know how to get my hands on both goats and chickens.

Lederhosen would have made an extremly effective military uniform for an army. Can you imagine trying to fight a man dressed like that without giving in to laughter? The enemy force would be so busy laughing they wouldn't have time to notice or counteract your strategy to win the battle.

    Humm

That could be why the Tyrolean Militias were so feared…could also be why Bavaria managed to keep it independence until it joined with greater Germany as an autonomous region.

They dressed for success. Which will hopefully be repsresented in game with a couple of fashions researchable in the tech tree.

Well, Regina isn't too bad of a city! I'm sure I'll find a little theatre shop somewhere...
