Thread: Rome release confirmed by Activision

  1. #1

Default Rome release confirmed by Activision

ROME:TOTAL WAR, is scheduled for Worldwide Simultaneous release on 17th September 2004.

This is straight from Activision... no 'gamesites', no 'rumour'.

(please note the word 'scheduled' to stop any law suits from landing at Scar's door)

    SCAR HAS PHONED ACTIVISION

I only just spoke to a very nice lady at Activision Europe (the 'Rome' Lady at the Press Office. This is exactly what Scar was told...

The demo was scheduled for release this Friday, but its not ready.

Picked this up,let's hope it is true...

hey au_dut you're in HK? Like, Hong Kong?

But the demo sounds nice. It'll be a test of whether my trusty old rig can handle the game. :) I'm still sorry that they missed the summer though.

I think it'd be earlier than BME, which is a good thing for sales' sake.

I have a friend that works for Activision and as far as Tucson, AZ is concerned (where I am) local stores are scheduled to get it Sept 23rd with presell orders being shipped on the 22nd.

I live in Adelaide Australia. From the previous experience for VI/MTV/STW, although it anounced for worldwild release on such a fixed date, by the time I can get it here would be at least 3-6 weeks after. Is there an explaination? anyone has any idea what would happen this time?

I really want to arrange a week holiday when it's out, but I need to arrange it with work in advence, without knowing the true date that I can get it in Adelaide is a pain

Cool Re: Rome release confirmed by Activision

Just remember Murphy's First Law: If something can go wrong, it probably will.

Still, it has been a long time coming. Lets pray it's all worth it.

And, geesh, I was just getting the hang of MTW/VI. sorta.

The trouble is, the countdown starts now. Only forty days now...

I've already started to only play Byzantines because it's the closest I can get to RTW

It can't come quick enough for me, the whole MTW, MTW/VI experience has been a big disappointment and I'll be glad to see the back of it. As Kafir says, let's hope all this waiting will be worth it

The top pc mag in Britain (PC Gamer) has confirmed a mid september release also and they are always near the mark on these things.
What i am personnally doing is telling myself that it will be out in October and that way i will be ecstatic if it arrives in my local store in September.

I hope for a quick release, because honestly, I can't play MTW/VI anymore. They just seem so dull and drab, now that I am waiting for Rome. And since a huge chunk of my free time was always spent playing MTW, I am in a perdicament till Rome is released!!
