Last night I decided to scrap my initial campaign at default/default settings, and begin a new one at VH/VH. At the default settings I had never lost a battle, though, of course, I'd made many *newbie* Campaign Map errors in judgement.

Some of my experiences are posted in this thread, but my last post is most particular to this thread:

Number of Battles and Strategic AI

The subject of this thread is in regard to two Strange Occurrences within my new campaign. As I stated in the above thread, the Campaign opened with a Senate Mission. I'm playing as the *red* Romans:

1) As instructed by the Senate I took the Rebel city of Sebastia (sp??). The thing is that I had TWO Generals in my 1/3 stack. I won the battle EASILY, but when the battle was over and I came back to the Campaign Map, one of the Generals had EVAPORATED!!!!

The Family Tree shows him as having died, but he did NOT die in Battle, nor of old age. The game was less than 10 Turns old. He just evaporated!!!

2) Similarly, several turns later, my capital city, Atrinium (Sp??) was beseiged. A couple turns latter the Guals decided to *Take* the city rather than wait it out. I had THREE Generals!!!!! I won the battle, and this time TWO generals EVAPORATED!!!!

WTF????

I've rebooted and am starting a *new* campaign, particularly for the above reasons.

Thoughts?
