Haggis throwing, you've got to catch your own.

As I'm only 1 hour away from London I might see if I can go some of the Olympics. I don't think that Chirac done himself any favours with his racist comments about Brits.

Hopefully they'll add rugby too, preferably 15s, but 7s would do at a pinch.

Snooker and Darts, because we'd be unstoppable.

Rugby and Cricket, I'd fancy us to get at least a medal.

Also, we should definately be able to field a Great Britain football team. Its a complete joke that the very inventors of the game are not allowed to field an Olympic football team because of a technicality.

That's bloody optimistic in view of the Lions lamentable performance...still, cricket looks more hopeful.

I'd add dominoes to the list of sports, bar billiards would be obvious, and as the world nettle eating championships are held in England each year nettle eating should be at least a demonstration sport.

I suppose this means I will have to move out of London fairly soon to stop my council tax doubling when Ken completely cocks up the construction projects by insisting on employing only lesbian crane drivers etc?

Darts would be fantastic, but I wouldn't rule out the Dutch - Barneveld, Stompe, Van Der Voort, Schoelton - reckon we'd have a challenge on our hands there!

Strange thing was that it was never a race between London and Paris, but London and Madrid for most of it.

So true, it is lucky we held them off to get into the final vote so they could give us their votes for the win!

    Congrats to the Brits.

I'm sure Blair is rubbing it in to the French at the G8 summit.

Our genes maybe in the basement but it does not stop us chosing our point of view from the top.

Congrats to the Brits for landing the 2012 Summer Games

We hosted the 2002 Winter Olympics, Mrs ichi and I got to attend a few events. Definitely a good time. I hope that you'all pull it off, avoid any 'security' problems, and get something lasting out of it.

Not at all, the money is being put up separately from general taxation and the fools tax - the national lottery - so none of those problems. The things you can do with a fast growing economy and growing taxes, eh?

And the development of the areas where the games will be held will have a huge impact in helping an area of east london which has been run down for years upon years. Fully worth it and it is great to get the games.

I'd love to see 20/20 cricket at the Olympics, even though the Brits are dominating it...

I was surprised at how much I enjoyed the first game I watched. Electric.

Congrats to the Brits! Better you than us! (Nobody in their right mind wanted the O's in NYC -- what a nightmare.)
