Of why Islamists need to be defeated. If Denmark gives in to this pressure the free world will have lost another battle.

Reinvent the British and you get a global finance center, edible food and better service. Reinvent the French and you may just get more Germans.

On one hand, you don't seem to see much disparaging of Jesus from the Muslim world. On the other, you don't seem to see many Westerners rioting over murdered artists or kidnapping/beheadings.
In Denmark, 10 years ago, there was a movie about Jesus sexual life. There was a public outrage, it is the same thing happening in the middle east. It is a shame it is costing danish jobs.
This is officially an issue between freedom of speech and religious tolerance.

This is ridiculous. Ambassadors are being withdrawn over a cartoon in a newspaper? I think some of our Muslim friends need to lighten up. It's not because they are banned from depicting Muhammad that this rule should apply to everyone on this globe, is it?
At any rate it's completely nonsensical to expect an apology from the Danish government. It's very telling that the Danes had to explain to the Arabs how in this part of the world, newspapers can print what they want.
Mind you, I'd be just as annoyed with fundamental christians protesting depictions of Jesus that they think are offensive. If you don't like it, just ignore it already.
Or better yet - forgive the perpetrators.
It is not so much that Mohammad was depicted. It was more the way he was it, eg. with a turban and an ignited bomb sticking out of his turban. That is clearly a referance to all moslems is a terrorists, that is what makes them furious - and with good reason.
These pictures were printed 4 months ago, so the uproar is a little late - that is probably because some forces are trying to use the cartoons as a cover for mass moslem protests and egocentric agendas.

Wow. Talk about losing your focus and getting worked up about the trivial. Saudi recalled an ambassador over a cartoon? Well, huh. If the wahhabis wanted to demonstrate that peacful coesxistence with them is impossible, as our President would say, Mission Accomplished.

My favorite quote from the story: "Enough lessons from these reactionary bigots! There is nothing in these incriminated cartoons that intends to be racist or denigrate any community as such,"

Here, here, France. As usual, when something good comes out of France, the government, especially Chirac, had nothing to do with it.

The caricatures are being reprinted all over europe.
I heard that in America there are 'Buy Danish' campaigns. In order to help out danish industries, lol - this is becoming the clash of the civilizations.

What really gets me is how they expect us to live by their religious tenets and now draw muhammed.
As an amateur opinion on the situation, I think that before we can expect some of those there to understand the principle of freedom of speech, they have to first see a way to the truth that is not solely through their Imams, Muhammed, or the Qu'ran.
Although the cartoons are offensive, I almost wanted people to print more of them too. I fear that provoking them more is a little too 'standoff-ish'.Here, here, France. As usual, when something good comes out of France, the government, especially Chirac, had nothing to do with it.
I was just going to go to the store and thought to myself, "I'll by some Danish stuff," I hope you guys make some good CHOCOLATES that I can find.I heard that in America there are 'Buy Danish' campaigns. In order to help out danish industries, lol - this is becoming the clash of the civilizations.
I hope none of the countries back down and prosecute out of pressure.
