Thumbs up Byzantium TW Update #4

    Welcome Byzantium fans!!!
This is our 4th update. Yes, I know we promised that we are gonna do only faction previews, but it's going a bit slow the progress because of the lack of skinners and modellers. I hope you will enjoy the units of this update, and prepare for a faction preview soon. :D

Work on the BETA is continuing, the Byzantines being completely worked out, Crusaders being at about 50%.
Here, we included some Crusader units, just for you fans to see. :)

Blindfaithnogod did by himself all of these wonderful units, belonging to the Catholics and Bulgars...

    Feudal Foot Knights

Feudal Foot Knights represent the upper class of swordsmen, being heavily armed and armoured. They are expensive but powerful infantrymen, capable of delivering a blow to the enemy. They have high morale, so you can send them into the middle of the fight, to get that small advantage on the enemy, which you can exploit later with heavy cavalry. They make the basic upper class swordsmen of the Catholic, Normans using them extensively.

    Feudal Sergeants

Feudal Sergeants are better than normal spearmen, because of chainmail armour, better shield and better morale. They made the backbone of Crusader armies, being extensively used in the Sirian heat. They can hold the first line for some time, but they can't hold too long, especially after a charge of heavy cavalry. They have the same weakness as the normal spearmen: rear or side charges will break them easily. If they can be protected, they can make a powerful defensive tool.

    Mounted Sergeants

Mounted Sergeants provide realiable and powerful cavalry, for their equipment. They can be considered light to medium cavalry, not having enough armour to be considered medium cavalry. Their main advantage is the speed, capable of doing charge-and-run attacks. In case of hand to hand fighting, they can't fight for extended periods of time, except against light cavalry. They are armed with a lance for attack, and a big shield for protection. Mounted Sergeants make good cavalry units for the price.

    Crusader Norman Foot Knights

Norman Foot Knights are recognised as one of the best infantry on the Catholic plateau, being capable of delivering a hard blow to the enemy. They have took the road of the Crusades, and arrived on the desert plains of Siria. Hard for them to fight in these conditions with their norman armour, they changed a bit their armour to make them lighter and more mobile. They can easily defeat the normal infantry of the Saracens, and with the heavy infantry, they can go really well against them. Against horse archers, they are a big disadvantage, and can get killed easily because of exhaustion and arrows.

    Crusader Norman Sergeants

Norman Sergeants are better than the other Catholic counterparts because of better training, in the hard Norman style. They too took the path of the Crusades, and served up as the backbone of the Crusader armies. They were more expensive than the normal sergeants, because of the improved armour. They had a large shield, being able to protect them against the showers of missiles of Saracen cavalry.

    Bulgar Christian Swordsmen

Bulgars had a long tradition of swordsmen. These swordsmen were less powerful than their pagan counterparts, but paganism had dissapeared because the slavs have been christianised by the Byzantines. They can deliver a good blow, being mobile medium infantry. They can be relied up on most fights, but a charge of Tagmata Klibanophoroi will sweep them away from the first charge.

    Let me add:

    Crusaders are about 90% complete.

We just need the descriptions and to do the coding and the BETA will be out.

Those Norman Sargeants look awesome mate, any screens of the map?
    When I was a child
    I caught a fleeting glimpse
Out of the corner of my eye.
I turned to look but it was gone
I cannot put my finger on it now
    The child is grown,
    The dream is gone.
    I have become comfortably numb...
