[I]"Who are they to say they are separate? They are Rus and so are we, and we must unite!" Mikhail's army cheered: "Mikhail! Mikhail! Mikhail!"

Mikhail had sieged Smolensk, and the Grand Duke has sieged Moscow.

Soon enough, we attacked. "Ladders move forward!" Mikhail ordered.

Wait! The rebel infantry rode out, and Mikhail ordered his troops to drop ladders and fall back, now the archer cavarly and archers are firing at the walls, then he will order the ladders to them.

As soon as the barrage ended, Mikhail ordered the ladders up on the walls. One set made it unopposed.

The other set, however, climbed into archer militia, an easy group of men to handle.

Eventually, the army hits the square and heavy fighting ensues.

    VICTORY!

And thus ends the Siege of Smolensk

    The Sally of Moscow:

After 1 more turn until Moscow fell, the Rus rebels sallied.

Kazakhs and archers fighting Kazakhs, and my Kazakhs were preforming a circle dance of death.

It was going to be a battle decided by arrows, after the axemen's failed assault.

Russian Archers prevail, and we chase the general into the square!

    Screwed

Victory, but at a heavy cost

Yselevod would mourn over those dead, until,

His only daughter was married (to a 3 star general, mind you) the Novgorad's rejoices all over the Empire, even in the newly conquered Moscow, who's citizens accepted Novgorad with open arms.

The royal council asks Mikhail, who had made himself well known as a general, was to march to Ryazan, his army now bolstered by 3 new units of Boyars Sons

Mikhail met a beatiful women on the way, and they married, his wife has been escorted by royal cavalry to Moscow, to present herself to the Grand Duke

    The battle for Helinski

As Novgorods economy worsened, Grand Prince Vladimir decided to take the coastal town of Helinski

Immediately, the rebels sallied, and the first arrows, Novgorod arrows, were fired.

The first attack wave was shrugeed off lightely and now mass Norse corpses lay on the ground

A dissapointing battle, Vladimir would later say, as the enemies routed by arrow fire

Thus ended the Battle of Helinski.

I noticed Mikhail's name was Mikhail the Wrathful. Mine took another route and is Mikhail the Chivalrous.

Good story so far. Your campaign sounds like it's going good. It's good to see another Russian fan. Good job!

Nice, I like the battle pics. Couple of questions though: what are the specs on your computer, and what tool do you use to take screenshots?

I use the Print Screen and upload my pics to Imageshack.

Thanks for the comment, I like Russia for it's favorible starting position (especially on VH/VH) the challenges you face (Mongols, Timurids, Poles, Hungarians, Byzantines, Turks).

Hopefully my economy will rise up again

Ah yes. And the units aren't all that bad either. Boyar Sons, Druzhina, Kazaks, all later replaced by even better units. And the location is pretty good. Far from enimes at first and able to hold a ton of land. I hate it whenever I need to take out some rebels and it takes forever just to get there cause there's so much land... but eh. It's good for the men to get some exersise. I've got several that get a + to thier movement points.

Where I last left you, Prince Vladimir had conquered Helinski. Now, we have come to the scene of Ryazan, where Mikhail "the Wrathful" has sieged Ryazan. But now, I have news from the World.

    While at the same time,

Interesting, the Catholic forces clashing with the Muslim forces, while the Orthodox scoop up the remains.

"Damned rebel cowards! Execute them!" Mikhail the Wrathful barked. Ryazan fell with no fighting, and the rebels surrendered. The rebel soldiers were tooken to barren waste land of Russia, and were executed. This is why he is known as the Wrathful. His name strikes terror in his enemies eyes.

Mikhail left two units of mercenaries and marched toward the West, to Kiev, and Grand Prince Vladimir marched toward Riga.

Riga was a simple village, and the Grand Prince attacked immediately.

[I] The garrison was infantry only, which was good, as the Grand Prince ordered his archers on the flank, his plan was this:

The plan fails, the rebel infantry run toward the archers who pull behind safe infantry lines

The plan soon changes, as the infantry attack the peasent army, the archers rain fire from the sky, while two other archer units attack crossbows, opening a flank

Vladimir though, if the rebels were this hard, what challenge will the Poles be?
