Unit Description
Viking Carls are available to all factions from the Scandinavian provinces during the Early period. They are not as good as Feudal Men-at-Arms and have a higher build requirement, so Catholic factions probably do not have a need for them, but they might be useful to other factions if they can conquer some of Scandinavia in Early. Viking Carls have a large shield which helps protect them both from missiles and in melee. Carls can be used as front line troops or as flankers, they are competent in either role.
