The Assassin is used to eliminate troublesome individuals. Dropping the Assassin piece on an agent or army stack will assign the mission, and the assassin will attempt to kill the agent or general, following that piece around until the attempt is made. The Assassin will either succeed, or get caught by spies, Border Forts, or the target's bodyguards, and be eliminated.
The Assassin can also counterspy, attempting to catch enemy spies or assassins entering a province.
