Machine Gun Preacher
I was bored, saw it available on Netflix, remembered someone recommending it, and watched it. I thought it was pretty good. I felt they could have covered his decent into madness a bit better, but overall it was an enjoyable movie.

I've been recommended to watch "Now You See Me". Any thoughts on the movie?

Just saw Tucker and Dale Vs. Evil. It is an absolutely awesome comedy in the vein of Galaxy Quest of Kung-Fooey.

This movie got mainstream snubbing because of its religious undertones. Without religion, it is like a hundred other movies that both my friends and critics would laud, but throw in a little Christianity and suddenly people avoid the movie like the plague. A story is a story is a story, as far as I am concerned. And Gene Simmons was right about Tim Tebow :)

Gemini, strange! Same frustration as always with Japanese movies, their (traditional) culture is so different I don't understand what is going on in social interaction and lore, and this is made by Japanese arthouse so I have no chance. But without understanding this movie I really enjoyed it. CREEPY. Fantastic music.

I have this desire to go and watch old 80s movies and just bask in the glory that was the comedy of all of them.
Rabit Hole, good movie. More importantly, I will never get tired of looking at Nicole Kidman. I love that 'matter of fact' attitude. If she was mine I would dissapoint her at least once a day because she's at her prettiest when angry. Yes babe, I just did that. Love me.
Gravity. Wonderfully different film, throws out most of the rules for film storytelling. Worth seeing for the strange use of composition, if nothing else. Oh yeah, best depiction of microgravity yet, and a good (if simple) story. Just go see it, on a big screen. Srsly.
Broken Flowers, great. Bill Murray is awesome as always, it's impossible to not find him sympathetic
Gravity actually made me laugh. Sandra Bullock is the unluckiest luckiest person ever.
Sunshine on Leith. Loved it, even if a lot of the songs were signposted. Been singing Proclaimers songs all week. Especially this one:
Finally saw Avengers. Was not really impressed. The visuals were fun but I never really knew who the bad guys were or what the plan was. Looked nice, plot was pretty dumb.
Finally got around to seeing No Country for Old Men.
Definitely a very interesting movie to watch. Chigurh is certainly a fantastic character, but I felt like the movie, when looked at as a whole, lacked a clear direction, as if I wasnt exactly sure where all the pieces of the puzzle had to go. But then I looked at different parts of the movie and it was much clearer. I personally feel as that Javier Bardem's performance was amazing. He really plays a psychopath extremely well.
Also I keep mistaking Tommy Lee Jones for Edward James Olmos.

Incredible movie, the Coen brothers have yet to make a movie that isn't pure genius.
Edit: Away from her, very moving. I like movies like this. You can feed me a blockbuster any time, but I am more an arthouse guy who likes small stories about normal people. Highly recommended unless your heart has been replaced by a microwave-meal.

Pretty good movie, interesting take on the whole "whipping students into shape" idea. Apparently some people think this movie is racist, but I still enjoyed it.

The Bow, odd but beautifull. Made by Kim ki-duk, all his movies are about Budhist philosophy, not knowing anything about it makes it kinda hard to understand for me. Solid recommendation for Haxie probably.
'Spring, summer, fall winter' From the same guy as 'The Bow'. Like The Bow it's kinda hard to understand for an outsider, most symbolism is lost to me, but it sure is pretty.
All or nothing, really moving. But ffs you English, there is something wrong with you. Being English seems to be a national depression judging from all the depressing movies that come from your hub.

Today one of my favourite movies, Thor: The Dark World released so I'm going to watch it asap. I recommend it to you. Don't miss it.

Got around to seeing Ender's Game.
Personal verdict: Too faithful, given how much they had to chop out. Felt like a highlights reel more than a movie.
They should have either gone for the HBO miniseries model, or done a more radical re-write to simplify the story.
Interested to hear what people who did not read the book think of it.
My friend made me read the book (which I didn't really like) and I knew any movie attempt would just be subpar. I'll save my money for something else.
Elysium
Good concept, average execution. Nothing special about this movie, but it could have been so much more. What a shame.
