Rome Total War Multiplayer Campaign, Want To Play PBEM?

How would you guys feel about allowing factions knocked out first a "second life" so to speak. For instance lets say everyone says nuts to their alliances and all attack me, lol, please don't! I'm out quite early, how do you guys feel about allowing me back in as say Thrace? I'd still be at a disadvantage as I'd be cleaning up the AI's mess. But IMO that could make the game interesting plus it'd mean as more factions get knocked out the amount of AI factions will also decrease (I have a feeling everybody has been so busy plotting wars against humans their neglecting AI :P Cept obviously TGA whose actual aim is to take out rome lol)

I have already been using Monarch's idea in my multiplayer campaigns, it does work very well I have to say although people sometimes get a bit annoyed because their new factions are far behind the level of the others who have been played since the start of the game.

I suggest that all battles between players should have their results screens either posted or sent to the other player. It is only fair that the player knows exactly how many men they lost, how many men they started off with (and the same for the other player) and which enemy general they were fighting against. Of course, the screen will have to be cropped so that details of the player's campaign will not be revealed.

The RTW Multiplayer games are mostly played out over at Miydai, which Sun owns and where I happen to be a Global Moderator since these events. If enough people are interested, a Campaign can be started off again over there.

I think that you can do such a thing (play a campaign against other human players) only with M2TW via "hotseat" (each participant plays his move and emails(?) the campaign save file to the other players) - as far as i know there is no such way to play the campaign online with RTW.

The only way it can be done it is via PBEM, that is a number of people decide to play a cooperative campaign online. The game file is set via emial to the "next" person. Rules of conduct and play are set prior to the campaign and the game has a player that acts as the chief coordinator and makes sure that the rules are respected.

It is possible to play by email using several factions controlled by different players using the script based mod I made a few years ago. That is what this game was going to use.
