I believe the pope cares little what occurs in our own lands, more about what we do in other nations' lands.
OOC: You can have a threat of excomm and you can still happily bash any froeign army in your own territory without getting excommed (papal standing will still suffer though)

The Diet Speaker looks at the record of the Diet deliberations. There is a page and a bit left at the end of volume, but what the heck, blow the expense. He closes the book and calls for a fresh one.
