You need to move Hamachi to the highest position in the priority list of network adapters accessed from software.
I do the same for Wippien in this video. Yours will say Hamachi instead. If that doesn't work, let us know.

P.S. Do NOT disable any networks...DON'T! If you have, enable all and restart comp. Don't disable. It ruins things for you (it ruins for me too!).

Tried and got my friend to do the same.
Both went into LAN lobby and neither of us could see each other or any game we tried to make..

Can't work out what the hell is wrong or if its just one of us...
Any ideas?

I used to have this problem too. Ask you friend to stay in the lobby and connected to hamachi. You disable your internet connection, but leave hamachi running. Enable internet again, hamachi will reconnect itself. Get into lobby and see if you are now able to see your friend. If not ask him to do the same as you did.

Can't guarantee that this will solve the problem, but it did solve it for me.

Not only is there this, but there's also uninstall Hamachi on both ends, restart, redownload, reinstall, restart, retry. Eventually something works.

Only just started to reinstall hamachi.. however we had one night on Gamespy where it was perfect, no connection issues and no desync, yet every other night we have desync. It can happen right at start or a few minutes in..

What causes it? Our connections are fine. Nothing else is stealing bandwidth.. what the hell is causing it, want it fixed!


Going to try Hamachi again hopefuly.

Its me again... begging for help.

I have reinstalled Hamachi, set as top priority in advanced settings.
I spoke to a guy on Hamachi to see if I could test it out and we could not see each other in the LAN lobby.

I tried removing my router and connecting directly PC to modem.
Tried that, nothing different... tried on gamespy like this with friend and get the desync as soon as the game loads.

After all the things we've/i've tried I can't imagine what the issue is, except that its RTW/EB not using Hamachi.

Please.. anyone have any ideas or advice? Its driving me maaaad

Totally uninstalled RTW and EB, reinstalled.. and via gamespy nomore desync, it may have been an EB Trivial setting as those are the only things I notice have changed since reinstalling..

However Hamachi still doesn't work.. but gamespy is!

Let it be known that I've played Rome: Total War along with the modification Europa Barbarorum on none other than Windows 7 Home Premium 64-BIT!!!! Edition. It can't get any worse that that, can it? Wrong. It worked flawlessly; heck, I almost thought it performed better than on any other system! A factor? No. David, IDK what's wrong in your case. The installation of the mod, the game, hamachi, or other? =*(

Speaking of which, vartan, do you remember when I was complaining about how EB was skipping a frames? Well, this turned out to be the same with many other high-resource demanding games. The main problem here was Windows Aero. Once I switched to basic, things got a lot smoother.

So let it be known that if you have frame skip issues with Windows 7, switching to Basic helps a lot.

Yeah, I don't have issues with that, but let it be known as well that whilst playing EB, no matter if on Vista, or 7, I always use compatibility mode with Windows XP (sp2 if on vista, sp3 if on 7), and I disable the graphics options, whatever it's called, that switches it to Basic only while playing the game.

I've had it without desync perfect for a while and after installing the script updates and other mods today I get desync again..

Would this be a cause? different files?

It is. Whoever is desynced should really do a fresh install from RTW ground up all the way to EB 1.2 with fixes. No joke. This happened in July 2009 tourney and was a ***** to say the least.

Configuration won't make a difference. You should be fine with 250Kbps. I know I was.

Well, when I want to play a MP, all I done is check all the other guy was sleeping... so all is 250kbps... but my lastest game suddenly broke when one of them start playing DOTA at the same time....

How to play via xfire? I have not tried this before. And do you have Hamachi too?

Xfire is just a chat program, like MSN messenger or whatever. It's just a place to meet, so to say. Not important. We'll play using Hamachi like normal.
