View Full Version : A New State - Small Mafia

Warluster

A deep night… wind lashed the small German village. It had many names; all as random as the next. At the local tavern, afamilar scene of joy in the town, the door was thumped open and a bolt of lightening lit up the sky. The door slammed shut and a black cloaked man entered. He sweeped aside his long coat and sat upon a stool glaring around the tavern. When approached by the keeper he roughly answered;
“Beer.” And continued his code of silence. As the beer was brought down upon the table the bar manager put forward a steady hand.
“Money first; drink later.” He demanded. The man looked at him and then stood. There were several groups of people in the bar.
“No.” He said quietly. The mug was withdrawn.
“No pay; no beer. That’s rules, don’t follow ‘em and I can kick you out of here.” Told the bar keeper. The man nodded.
“So be it.” He drew a long barreled Toulouse pistol and aimed it exactly at the bar managers head. Someone screamed and people ran for the door but it burst open and stood there a similar cloaked man, wielding a Long Barrelled Dutch Combination Gun. He raised it and fired. Black smoke billowed out and a man charging him flew backwards and smashed into a table before lieing in a pool of blood. The smoke was in black fumes as the bar manager richotted off the shelf of wines before falling to the floor. Bottle upon bottle smashed and wine leaked everywhere; also covering the sounds of violence as the tavern go’ers were massacred. Wine mixed with blood and it seeped under the door as it snapped shut on those many lives, the killers stalking off into the night.

In Rome, in a dark alley way and Papal Cardinal stood waiting behind a wooden door. No one could see him and prayed no one would. The door opened it out came a poorly dressed man.
“Order…” He muttered looking for them in his pockets. He grinned (Showing a few missing teeth) and handed over the documents. The Cardinal flicked him some coins before exiting the shabby alleyway. He unscrolled the document and read it.

You are to go to this village marked on the map. The French are rumored to be attacking it, stop them, but the Germans aren’t to win either. We don’t want a full scale war nor do we want a German victory. You’re to stop them. Kill with God’s help and use source’s of information and God’s spies to find information. GO with the Lord’s speed.

It wasn’t signed or anything. He pocketed it and ordered a coach to go, he was leaving right then.

The Village Leader stood at the doorway to the tavern before wheeling around and vomiting. The people who had killed them obviously had no mercy. The killers were rumored to be the French, a large army was also rumored to be heading straight for this important village. He turned around to rally his 12 village people, those remaining from the population. But he was pulled away.
“Should you not be hidden?” asked a Villager. He thought it over.
“If these French killers find you they’ll slaughter you. The town will crumble without your support and the Army will glide in here. Don’t wish that upon us.” The Village Leader nodded and accompanied the Villager to a secret location. He wouldn’t and that was explained secretly to the people. The Villager who helped him was killed alter that night.

Only thirteen were left.

Roles:
Villager: Their role in the game is exactly the same as a Townie in other games. Vote to lynch the enemy. (8)

Gerdemaire: French Mafia who have come to this German Village, a important offensive town, to rid of its Village Leader so the Army can move in. One kill per night. Both have to confirm the kill. There is also the chance of their pistols or musket misfiring. (2)

Village Leader: When the Gerdemaire came the Village Leader was instantly hidden by the Villagers. Now the Gerdemaire are out to kill him. If he dies then the Villagers have one day to lynch the remaining Gerdemaire. If they don’t then the French win. Basiclly a normal Townie with thse added responsibilities. (1)

Papal Cardinal: A Cardinal visiting the Village from the Papal States on a unknown mission… His goal is obvious; to make sure neither Gerdemaire nor Villagers win. TO do so he/she has to play the sides off against each other with out letting one win… He can also investigate and can use the knowledge to his advantage. (1)

Deputy: The Deputy is Deputy to the Village Leader. He can protect someone three times a game; or they can investigate someone (Has a 50% chance of spot on results) Basiclly a normal townie but with these added abilities. (1)

Normal Mafia Rules. You all know how to lynch people, f not see the rules in one of the stickies. No screenshots. You may quote of course! Also Role Reveal (Certain parts of the Role PM can not be revealed, if so you shall be killed by a deranged outsider.

Mafia may choose what weapons to use:
Wheellock Pistol
Flintlock Musket
Rapier
Crossbow
Cannon

Pistols and cannons have a chance of misfiring but a more certain kill. Cannons may also explode and means Gerdemaire can not kill for one night.

If Village Leader is killed then the Villagers have only one night to kill at least ONE of the Gerdemaire. Doing so means they win, if not the Villagers lose. Every Villager shall know who the Leader is. The Village Leader may choose one person to act as a shield that night.

The chances of the Papal Cardinal winning are slim but it is possible.

This looks to be a larger and longer game than usual, not only for the number of players, but also because of the Papal Cardinal and the reliability of the Mafia's weapons!

Day 1

There stood a Church in the middle of this unknown town. Pride of the town you could say; the reason there was a town. it had stood for years and hosted many events... and now, it was where the French Gerdemaire were to be found. A Villager stood on the stone steps outside while a crowd was assembled below.
"Good people's! We control the only roads into Germany! It is our job to stop these French Armies come pouring into the Fatherland!" No word's and the man faultered before continueing.
"I want you all to vote for who you suspect, and then we will kill them." a small cheer before the villager's turned around.

It was time to lynch the Gerdemaire.

OOC:

Vote to lynch who you suspect is the Gerdmaire. You've all played at least once; if you can't remember...

Sunset 1

The church bells rumbled back, and forth. A single crow screeched. As the local priest read verse's from the bible he heard a continous thump. He stood on the stone steps outside where a single child waited. He was staring at a pathway. A wall of dust echoed out of it as a single voice came roaring.
"Kill!" in a bloodlusting way. A crowd of 12 people came from around the corner as the church bell rang again and two at the front held The Wandering Scholar. A Villager stood before them;
"We have all voted! We have chosen our lynch target!" a roar came from the crowd as The Wandering Scholar was shoved forward. A noose lay on the top of the church arch and the Priest rushed forward, scandalised.
"Not on the Church of God!" he scolded. As this was said The Wandering Scholar escaped from the clutches of his captors and ran into the church, quickly disappearing.
"Damn it!" swore one of the VIllager's.
"He got away!" they shrugged and started to walk away.
"Your leaving a murderer in the Church of GOd!" screamed the priest hysterically. They paused then looked at each and marched back again. The Priest picked up a bible as The Wandering Scholar appeared above them at the church bells.
"let me live! I shall not kill, I have not!" he promised. A single bible flew through the air and hit him on the temple, from where he wafted downwards and thudded into the ground in a pool of blood. The VIllager's grimaced then quickly walked away.
"Seal your doors, close your curtains!"

It was a late German night. pevergreen had a English Wheellock in his hand and was eyeing the street carefully. He hated night; absolutely hated how the Gerdemaire could sneak up and smash the village. The sound of a breaking twig. He cocked the musket and looked down its sights down the street. After minutes of waiting he gave it up as a done job. No gerdemaire would come tonight.

He turned and reached for the bread roll lieing, ready to be eaten, on the bench. He devoured it (Probably the only bit of food he’d have for the next two days) As he cursed the whole bloody famine a sound came from outside. He wheeled around, and saw that his musket propped against the outside door. He swore and pulled forth a Lorenzi pistol. He kneeled and cocked it, aiming precisely at the door.

A mosquito buzzed inside, and a animal called its cry outside. Nothing. He cursed his ears, perhaps this lack of nutrition proved his ear’s rmained unwell? It was darker now and he got ou the torch. When a single light struck up outside. It fizzled donwards. A firefly? Some creature. He noticed a big black muzzle, a human form and-

pevergreen threw the torch and heard it thump into something before the ludest bang he’d ever heard, will ever here, cried into the German air, and a massive cannonball smashed into his house.

As the ruins smoked outside a lone figure crawled by his knees, towards the end of the town. As he got away a wary crowd of people observed the ruins.

The Morning

A single German officer stood in front of the smoking ruins. A smashed candle holder lay on the ground with a smearing of blood. A goup of Pikemen brushed through the smoking wreck. The whole top three quarters of the house had been blown into the fields behind it, while everyone else was charcoal. A soldier cried as he dug out the smoked elbow of pevergreen. The German officer shook his head sadly before turning around. A villager stood there.
“What’s happening?” asked the Villager.
“pevergreen was killed last night. Strangely it seems to be by a large cannon. We can’t find it though.” he added simply. He submitted no more thought. He called his doler’s and they formed a formation.
“March!”
And so they left.

Woad&Fangs.. You, "Agree", with Pevergreen?

Why?

Pevergreen enjoys a joking rivalry with Sarathos similar to that which he shares with Beefy187.

The latter was lynched in the Norse Mafia Game simply because the write-up included a similiar, "Heeeee diiid iiit! o00o0o", which Pevergreen also wrote.

It was a joke, not even Pevergreen expected that to work.

So you must want it to be true.

---

Now, it's damned obvious that you two, (FactionHeir and Woad&Fangs), are now going to say, "Look, he is protecting Sarathos - they must be two Gangsters!", but I am protecting common sense here.

Because if you go ahead and hit me with that accusation, then it will be obvious you two chose Pevergreen to kill in order to set up the lynching of myself or Sarathos today.

I have no suspicion of anybody else.

(Count Arach, I think that scummy post was simply Sarathos addressing my suspicion as dribble.)

I wouldn't be so eager to vote. The fact that pevergreen named me, and its pevergreen saying, it makes it less believable. It is the first kill of the game, how could be possibily know who it was? Anyone could of done it. It could of been shlin and pevergreen just can't spell, too bad he died.

If I was to kill pevergreen, I wouldn't do it with a cannon, not my style.

Day 2

A single bang echoed from inside the Village Centre. A Villager whipped out from his house; musket in one hand and pistol in other. A VIllager stood there.
"Voting is over!" he informed. A crowd formed around him. He read from a scroll;
"By order Sarathos is to be killed this afternoon." A strong pair of hands grasped Sarathos and pushed him, once again, towards the Church. The three went forward as the crowd followed cheering and teasing. The Priest watched them angrily, once again they insulted him!
"Away, you barbaric people!" He yelled. The crowd stopped and looked around, all shrugged and continued. He sighed, and forgiving himself already, cocked the pistol, aimed and pulled the trigger. A fountain of blood felw from Sarathos head as he limply fell in his captor's arms. The let him drop as another VIllager smached his hands togther.
"Easy!" And the trudged away.

The new night; began.

One of the Gerdemaire were injured last night. Thus, though a kill may be performed, it will double the chance;s of being unssucesful.

PM's please.

That last bit of information is good to know. It might buy us some more time.

Glenn, why would I try to frame someone by killing pevergreen? I'd be one of the first suspects.

I think Sarathos might have been the Cardinal. Sounds like a Cardinal would say " Get Away you barbaric peope!"

I think Glenn should go next, personally.

And why is that? Because he accused W&F? Maybe you are scum-buddys.

Night 2

It was 10 at night. A single dog barked from a house at a passing man. He swore at the dog and it whimpered sadly, but the man continued on, hands in robes. He was truthlly holding a pistol and suspected someone was after him. He heard something move behind him, glanced, saw nothing and walked on. After some time he left the main part of the village, shuddered as he walked past the tavern and barely noticed the Church. THen he was out in the scrubland. He kept walking. He was getting out of here; away! he heard slow breathing and cocked the pistol in his hand. A bush snapped, a pebble rolled. A gun cocked. He flipped around drawing the gun rapidly; second's too late. A bullet thudded into his chest and the killer drew a rapier and slicd the man's chest again. The dieing man dropped to his knees before collasping in a final death roll. The killer stood over him and watched him before drawing a scarf and going up the mountain.

And Glenn lay dead in the new moonlight.

Day 3

The German officer didn't care. Some stupid villager's were all scared over some made up Gerdemaire; when it wa smore likely a serial killer was on the loose. He wrote off note's in german, sighed and rode away as the people watched with stunned looks.

Writeup suggests only 1 killer, does that mean we lynched the right guy the first time?

Means whoever is mafia is smart enough to at least try and confuse the town.

For now, vote: gibson
You haven't contributed much besides voting yourself, claiming that you aren't very good at mafia and saying that you haven't received a role PM after everyone did.

Not talking about that. He claimed not to have received one after Warluster sent them out again and posted the townie PM. Indeed, just before the extended D1 was over and everyone, including him, had voted.

In his first two posts he stated that he was voting the way he was to seem less suspicious. Which therefore makes him more suspicious in my eyes. In his 3rd post he pointed out that we seemed to have lynched the cardinal. In his 4th post he pointed out the obvious and voted Gibsong for the apparently sole reason of getting him to talk.

But FactionHeir suggested that first...wouldn't that make FactionHeir equally as gulity. I think my dear W&F, you are just trying to throw suspicion.

Haha I haven't been checking this, being grounded off the computer.

Before you say "that's a lame excuse" ask any of the Capo's, KOTR's, or anyone else who I generally "socialize" with.
