I saw in an "old" thread a list of events (more some kind of achievements), including, for Pahlava, Shahenshah and something like "parthian cavalry discount"
I already had ShahanShah (conquest of Persia), but I have no idea what is required to get the second scripted event.Has anyone ever heard about it?
You already have it. When recruiting cavalry you get some money back by the script.

That's interesting. Why, though? Just curious. And....how much? (And more, do the other HA factions get this benefit too?)

Cool. Does it mean that I train Aorsi nobles (for exemple, I love this unit) for a better price than Sauromatae or the (forgotten) Sakae? Or does the money come back in the "corruption and other" compartment of the financial screen?

Nomad Cavalry could have some more men per unit so that it would represent some vast Stepe cavalry armies in a new light
As I am aware of noticing or realizing, Stepe armies always had much more men per cavalry unit that ''regular'' (hellenic/roman/gaul/german/african/indian) cavalry units :thinking2:

It's there to encourage using more cavalry for factions that used a lot of it. And the reason why they used such a lot of it is that they had less cost of keeping horses: there were prime grazing lands all over.
The discount is 275 per unit upon training, as long as it is trained in lands supporting horses (IE not in Spain or Egypt). All steppe factions get this discount. It shows up as "Other" in the financial scroll.

No. It would take unit slots that are not available.

I don`t think this was the case. Don`t be fooled by RTW combat engine, where horses behave like men. Horses can`t walk sideways and can`t turn in place without much hassle. They walk backwards with great difficulty. Maneuvering a cavalry unit is a very difficult thing and horse archers thrive on outmaneuvering their oppponents (while shooting them down in the proces). HA would probably employ in smaller units than typical melee cavalry to facilitate maneuvers.
