I am almost set up, I have to install all my games and patches and so on, and I have Kingdoms now.

Spent a pretty penny... bout $2K for the system itself, Kingdoms, and the 3 year total warranty. Nothings gonna bite this computer to death with the full warranty... accident, theft, etc.

Good deal... spent 3k on the last one 3 yrs ago and it sucked out loud.

Im pretty sure PoT's been active in LotR, if he's dropped out then Merlox could sub for him if he PM's him, I'd suggest just asking ATPG but since he's AWOL

PoT is not part of LotR right now but his avatar is being held in storage in case he returns. But he has been on the board lately. TLG is simply gone. He hasn't logged in for weeks and no one knows what is up with him.

If the game is admin enabled, ATPG can use the console commands to change the passwords of those players.

All the infomation I have found on it has been compiled here (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=95420).


When that is set, you open the console, login with the password and then type: clear_password <faction_label>

Replace <factionlablel> by say byzantium
The password will then be removed, the first player who enters can set a new one.

If you have questions, Tosa and FH are very knowledgable on the subject. I don't know much more than what is in that thread but I can try to help. :book:

Happy to help. I was part of a Hotseat that had to be abandoned because a player left and refused to give up his password. Since then, making these admin-enabled is standard. :beam:

Major problems fellows;

I cannot get BC1, BC2, BC3, or GCH2 saves to work on my computer after repeated installations.

I dont think I need it, but I am downloading the 1.3 patch anyway, even though I have kingdoms. Its the only thing I have left.

There is one, unthinkable option...

I have my old, non-kingdoms, scratched up m2tw disk. I could totally uninstall everything and attempt to do a m2tw 1.0->1.3->BC->1.5->4quickfixes installation.

But it will be a while before I attempt to do that. I'm trying to enjoy Kingdoms. So, until further notice, I will have to drop out of this hotseat.

If you guys want to continue, you will need my admin password. It is, for this game I believe, "dalbert". You will need to change the passwords for the factions which dropped out.

If that doesn't work, contact me and I will give you my other, more secure password I used.

That's ok atpg. I think we are all moving in different directions, plus with Merlox's well thought out BC3 hotseat, which many are participating in, I dare say BC2 may have to be pronounced dead.

Unless somebody wants to take over that is. :sweatdrop:

On the other hand, how are you enjoying Kingdoms? I bought Kingdoms about four weeks ago and I have dabbled a bit as the Welsh in the Brittania Campaign, some pretty good features in it. Just love that burning oil that you can send many of your men to their deaths with when they run through the enemy's Gate!

Edit: I would like to announce to all that my alter ego, aka Galain_Ironhide, is 1 year old today. Wow, 1 year of the .org. How I love this place and its inhabitants. Thanks for the memories.

I wish I had a screenshot of my Ireland campaign.

First, I punished the vile English for even setting foot on MY island. Then, after sending them scattering, I forced them to sign a peace treaty, and signed a one turn temporary alliance with the English so I could destroy Norway, then betrayed England, invaded Wales, destroyed Wales, and marched 5 stacks of troops under my 10 dread faction leader towards Nottingham, razed it, and then marched on to London.

This was done in a matter of some 25-30 turns.

Needless to say, English people fear me.

Ok here's the screenshot.

Turn 29- 5 stacks of Irish troops, armed with trebuchets, heavy infantry stacks, epic archer stacks, all-cavalry stacks, excellent generals and a 10-dread Faction Leader against Nottingham.

2,128 troops and 6,787 reinforcements decimate England's greatest stronghold in a matter of minutes, then march on London, forcing England's unconditional surrender.

With Wales and Norway destroyed, and Scotland as my ally, England crippled, I decided to try a more challenging campaign.

And I personally destroyed most of the Baron's Alliance as well. Pathetic lot, really. I feel sorry for them. Playing as them would be challenging.

Latin's password is most likely "1".

Other factions' passwords will need to be modified if they have dropped out

And, if you like, I will stay in the game, if someone would be so kind as to move my pieces for me.

I have Vista, Kingdoms, BC, 1.5, and 4 hotfixes installed.

My single player games work perfectly. I cannot get any save games created by a different computer to work at all.

I've dropped out of active play in all my hotseats over this.

hey bud, did you read my pm? I thought I'd found a solution to this...I deleted it already or I would forward it again, but essentially it was about installing your game somewhere other than your programs folder. I read in a thread in the EB forum that installing the game in your programs folder can cause UAC issues in Vista. On my Vista laptop I have the game installed on a separate partition and hotseat saves load up just fine..

I could put it under "windows" and see what that does. And if thats the case, instead of a reinstall I could just move all the files into a "games" folder under "windows" and put all the files there and see if it runs.

yeah, that's the idea - you install it in another directory, a new one like 'C:/Games' or 'C:/Phonicmonkeyisanidiot' or whatever you like

I definitely wouldn't put it in the Windows folder - god only knows what problems that might cause!

I'm not enough of a techie to know whether simply copying the files across would have the same effect as re-installing (are there registry entries which refer back to the original directory? plus you'd have to change the target line in your shortcut...)

But as silly as it sounds (and remember we're talking about Microsoft here!:clown:), apparently the UAC settings in Vista for folders under the C:/Programs directory are different - which has caused problems for EB modders in editing and exchanging files with each other. That's what led me to think this might be a fix for you.

Hi guys srry to interrupt in this post, but I tried moving manually and well it still doesn't work, Having a similar problem as ATPG. I hope his does work. Also does anybody here know why my M2 version says its 1.02 even when I have the gold edition patched to 1.05 installed?. I tried installing the 1.03 but it says its already installed :dizzy2: .

Hope we can get our duel started ASTP :sweatdrop:.

Well ATPG, I suppose the only option left to test this solution if manually moving the installation doesn't work is to try a full uninstall / reinstall, but this time point the installer somewhere other than the Programs folder (NOT the Windows folder, make a new one).

As far as your problem goes decimator22, I'm sorry but I don't know anything about the gold edition, but maybe a forum search in the Citadel will yield an answer?

Sorry Atpg and everyone else. I pm'd Tristan just yesterday about this. I downloaded the mod Deus Lo Vult on the weekend to have a look and it ended up giving me a rather large error (CA_LIBS it was called) that meant I couldn't load m2tw anymore. So I had to uninstall everything and start again - much like you had to go through (OK so I only had m2tw die on me - not my whole computer :clown:).

I've managed to fully reinstall and patch m2tw & Kingdoms. Plus I managed to get Deus Lo Vult to work (played it for a short while tonight - It is fully sick! Definately worth a look - mind you it is a turtlers paradise). The big casualty was Broken Crescent which I have to redownload. unforunately that is going to take time for me with work comitments and family. Effectively I will have to be out of the game until I get organised again.

I have passed on my password to Tristan via pm. Funny thing was, I told Tristan that Atpg could be my sub! :laugh4:
