Efstathios Laskaris (Ibn-Khaldun) was disappointed at his inability to reach Alexandria before his rivals. With a heavy heart, he turned and marched east towards two great tributaries of the Nile. Soon the army started noticing something odd; there were signs posted on the road, which claimed to point towards Cairo, but they were all pointing West. Efstathios' cartographers were not confused by this blatant sabotage attempt, and instead navigated by their own maps, oriented by the sun and stars. They eventually reached the Nile tributaries and made camp between them as they had intended.

Methodios Tagaris (Tristan de Castelreng) was an ambitious man, and it was beginning to worry his army. With Alexandria only just secured and the population greatly unhappy, he set about preparations to march south with part of his army to lay siege to Cairo. He selected a small corps of elite men, mounted Latinkons, Byzantine lancers, Crusader Sergeants, and Byzantine Infantry and instructed them to march out of the city with him, leaving the remainder of his army and Annios' behind as a garrison. Methodios gave instructions that the taxes be lowered as much as possible to appease the population, but he did not count on the effect of his personal charisma. He was already a legend amongst the Crusaders, and his departure from the city greatly demoralized them and upset the Egyptian commoners. As he attempted to leave, they constantly obstructed his path and clawed at his cloak in an attempt to keep him as their protector. He would not hear any of it, and eventually managed to march out of the city with his men. Hoever, the delays in leaving had their cost and he will not reach Cairo until next year. In the meantime, a revolt is simmering in Alexandria even with the low taxes and Annios Solomon and the remaining garrison are powerless to prevent it from happening.

Fought the Fatamid Jihad. Killed the General and ended the Jihad, but lost some eight-hundred soldiers. Would have been less, but for some stupid reason the four units with Makedonios (but not Makedonios himself, of course) could only retreat in the exact opposite direction from whence the came - right through the enemy army. Also accepted ransom offer for 633 florins exchange for approx. 260 men.

EF and the Order Crusaders have defensive battles.

I will PM EF the save. When he is done, he will PM both Rowan and Ramses his save. The first one of them to fight the Crusade battle will give me the save back. Rowan/Ramses are to try to save before the new windows come up. But if they can't, just don't touch the windows and save it then.

Report for 1126:

The economy starts to grow. And those that did not benefit from the economy last year did this year. Unfortunately, my fairness has been met by backstabbing and plotting. It seems the Caesar wants to kill a whole bunch of us in a mad grab for power. Keep in mind that when I signed off on the authorization for these buildings and armies, I did not yet know of the Caesar's plans. For those of you who haven't yet seen it, here is the Caesar's super secret plan to kill us:

Greetings, dear friends.

I will soon ascend to the throne. The Order have insulted me and the royal family flagrantly and yet we have been powerless to bring them to account.

What is more, the Order have shown themselves increasingly disloyal as a whole.

For the good and stability of both the empire and the nobles, I have a proposal I wish to offer to the both of you.

It is simply this:

As soon as I ascend to throne, we three form a Triumvirate. The Order's insults are a legitimate and just causus belli for us to declare them traitors and their land confiscated. Once we have defeated them, we shall be able to redistribute the land of the empire amongst ourselves. If the independent nobles, such as Methodios and Micail remain out of the conflict, then they shall keep their land. If they cast their lot with the Order, then their land shall be forfeit too.

As a result, the Asteri would control the western half of the Empire, the Komnenodoukai the East, and the Imperial family the centre plus all the patriarchates.

This would require some exchanging of land between House Asteri and House Komnenodoukai, but I'm sure negotiations could be entered into.

Imperial Provinces:
Constantinople
Rome
Nicaea
Dardanellia
Antioch
Jerusalem
Alexandria

House Asteri:

Athens
Thessalonica
Corinth
Arta
Dyracchion
Belgrade
Bucharest
Rhodes
Zagreb
Sofia

House Komnenodoukai:

Sinop
Caesarea
Smyrna
Adana
Tblisi
Yerevan
Nicosia
Diyarbakir
Aleppo

We would then control the Magnaura and be able to propose legislation which would change the structure of the empire.

War may only be declared by the Basileus.
All new provinces are at the disposal of the Basileus.
The cities of Rome and Constantinople can never be held by anyone but the Basileus.
The Basileus army consists of a minimum of 8 infantry units, 2 missile units, 2 heavy cavalry units, and two artillery units.
The Imperial Fleet is under the command of the Basileus.
The Imperial Fleet consists of a minimum of 8 ships.
The Caesar’s army consists of a minimum of 6 infantry units, 2 missile units, 2 heavy cavalry units, and two artillery units.
A member of the House Asteri is always the Lord High Chancellor
A member of the House Komnenodoukai is always the Lord High Steward
The Caesar always holds the Privy Seal.
The leaders of the Asteri and Komnenodoukai are on the Basileus’ Privy Council along with the Caesar.
Constantinople alone can recruit Varangian Guards.
The House Asteri commands the Western Legion, which consists of 12 infantry units, 2 missile units, 3 cavalry units, and 2 artillery units.
The House Komnenodoukai commands the Eastern Legion, which consists of 12 infantry units, 2 missile units, 3 cavalry units, and 2 artillery units.

What say you, my loyal friends?

Ioannis Komnenos,
Caesar of the Romans.

Now, on to the report.

Armies:

Both Royal Armies are just fine. I just hope they aren't used to kill Byzantines...

The Order's Armies were severely beaten taking on yet another Fatimid Jihad army much larger than they. I have recruited and retrained 1 spear militia each in Antioch. 2 Peasant archers in Nicosia have been recruited. My army is currently 1 archer and 1 cavalry short of the legal requirement. I asked myself for permission to ignore the requirements of my private army for one year. While I was tempted to force myself to break the law by illegally denying myself a full private army, I am proud to say that I have given myself approval.

Kalameteros: His Treb Archer and Byz Spearmen at Markianople were retrained. A town militia is moving towards him for his army.

Alek: Per his wishes, he was moved towards Durazzo.

Savvas: His army is being moved by me. We have it so we might as well use it. Since he locked his 2 peasants in Arta, I have recruited 2 more in Scopia.

Zigavinos: A HA, 2 peasant archers, and 2 peasants are enroute to Iconium. A town militia is in Iconium to round out the army.

Pavlos: I took his offer and disbanded those 3 mercs. As part of our deal, I have retrained the Treb archer. And I have recruited the Dismounted Lancer and Byz Spearmen in Tbilisi.

Kan: There are 2 peasant archers and an Alan Cav in Trebizond. Plus a Spear militia and 2 town militias in Sinop. He can use those as his army. 2 town militias were recruited in Sinop as a garrison.

Buildings:

Yerevan: The Prioritized Wooden Walls were started. And all repairs have been made.
Athens and Bucharest started grain markets.
Dardenellia and Trebizond started Land Clearance.
Tbilisi started a small chapel and Corinth started a Chapel.
Sinop started a port.
Antioch got a Theologian's Guild. It is nice that someone recognizes our efforts in the Levant.

Foreign Affairs:

I sold both the French and the Hungarians our maps for 1000 florins.
Hypatios was jumped by 1000 Turks. I assume the man is well known as the butcher of Iconium. He survived and ran north.
The Fatimids attacked the Order Crusaders. The garrison of Cairo came out and was destroyed. The Order then occupied the city. I congratulate the men and it seems the Crusades are soon coming to a close.
The Council of Troyes happened. The Templars have been officially sanctioned by the Pope.
A riot in Alexandria killed some men and damaged the grain market.
Yerevan is under siege from a small 2 unit Turkish raiding party.
Armatos killed a Fatimid general and stopped the Jihad even though he lost the battle. The army has dissapeared but is no longer a threat to Constantinople.
The Turkish Jihad has dissapeared.
And a heretic was tried at Scopia. It seems Methodios's habits are becoming popular among his subjects.

Permissions:

OOC: No Crusaders can move until TinCow declares the Crusade is over or overrides this order.

Armatos has permission to move the peasant archers in Nicosia, the ship off of Nicosia, and all units in Antioch except myself.

Kalameteros can move the town militia that is heading towards Markianople.

Zigavinos can move the units to his army that are enroute to Iconium. They are the 2 peasant archers, horse archer, and 2 peasants.

Efstathios has permission to move his Crusade army into Alexandria to help keep order.

Methodios's Crusade army is "seized" by the Office of the Megas until he replies to my letter.

OOC: 3 RBG's in Scopia and 3 in Corinth are available for YLC to look over.

Crusader Sergeant units in Alexandria and Methodios' army have been swapped, as I removed the wrong one from Alexandria last turn. Movement was reset for Methodios and Annios after this was completed.

Vissarionas ek Lesvou (Ramses II CP) now owns Cairo and has been given the proper title ancillary.
Vartholomaios Ksiros (Rowan) has received the Bridle of Constantine. (How he came across it is for him to decide IC.)
Stavros ek Amarinthou (Knights_of_Palma) has received the Iron Crown of Lombardy. (How he came across it is for him to decide IC.)

4007 added to the treasury for Crusade upkeep. This is the last time this will be done. All future Crusade unit upkeep will have to be factored into the economy.

Nikolaos Aristenos (YLC) has been transported to his starting location in Scopia. The other 5 RBGs have been killed off.

The Crusade Event is now officially over. All normal game rules once again apply to all Crusaders, Crusade armies, and Alexandria and Cairo. Crusaders may begin moving their own avatars again this turn.

Report for 1128:

1128 will forever be known as the "year of loopholes." Since Imperial Bureaucracy was moving away from the "loophole model" of governance, I decided to have one last Hurrah. I noticed the Caesar's SOT did not have "do not obliterate" in his army orders. So, I "obliterated" his army. I hope he doesn't mind. I promise I will rebuild it with the finest peasants in all the land. I then went to the settlements of every person who voted against me, and I destroyed every building. The Charter is quite clear that the Megas can do anything he wants as long as it isn't forbidden in the rules. I used the money from those buildings to secure an alliance with the Pope. To sweeten the pot, I gave the Holy Father the provinces belonging to those who voted against me. Again, it isn't forbidden in the rules, so it must be legal.

Hopefully by now you know I'm just kidding...

Sorry, with the stress of this job, you need to laugh or you will go insane. And I'm not talking about any kind of insane. I mean clown shoes wearing exploding flatulence insane.

Anyways, on to the report...

Armies:
If I don't mention an army, it's because nothing changed, the army is up to legal requirements, and everything is fine and dandy.

Order: I recruited a town militia in Antioch. And a peasant archer and horse archer in Nicosia. My army is legal and I no longer have to worry about me prosecuting myself.

Zig: I recruited a town militia in Icon. The rest is heading towards the city.

Alek: He is sitting in Durazzo. I disbanded his 2 balkan archers and recruited 2 peasant archers.

Kan: I recruited a HA at Treb to replace the cavalry I am taking back from him.

Building:
Antioch started Large Walls. I figure since the Caesar threatened to throw himself against the walls of Antioch, I might as well make them bigger.

Adana and Aleppo started on roads. I know it might sound amazing that no one has built roads for us in the Levant before my term but it is sadly true.

Caesarea started on Land Clearence.

Cairo started on a small church to begin spreading the faith. Also, it had a Master Thieves Guild. That noble city deserves better so with Vissa's blessing, I destroyed the guild. I sold it for 666 florins which must be a sign that they were truly evil. They tried to re-establish themselves this year in Cairo but I refused.

Alexandria repaired the grain market and started on paved roads.

Sofia started on Garrison Quarters. This is my first military building of my term and I don't plan on there being many others.

Foreign Affairs:
I sold the Pope our maps for 1000 florins.
A heretic was tried in Adana.
Hypatios was jumped again by the Turks. 600 of them attacked him and his 12 bodyguards but I was able to get him out of there. It seems they don't like him much. I can't imagine why...
The HRE is the strongest faction around. I hope those uppity Germans don't let it go to their head.
We have a mission from the "nobles" to blockade Gaza for 2 years for 1000 florins. I've decided to accept. It must be a merchant looking to stifle his competition.

Domestic Affairs:
Nevoulos got an architect and Stavros got a pagan magician.
There is a riot in Cairo and it damaged a couple buildings. Methodios is valiantly trying to restore order.
There is a rebel army right next to Alexandria.
There is a small 2 unit Turkish raiding party near Yerevan.
There was a glimpse of yet another Fatimid Jihad army but it is now out of sight.
The Turkish Sultan came out of nowhere and the Jihad army is now to the west of Constantinople.

Permissions:
Armatos can move the units in Nicosia, the boat off of Nicosia, and all units in Antioch province but Makedonios
The boat down by Egypt is now for the use of Bart so he can come home. It is to his north east.
The Alan Cav that came from Trebizond is now reclaimed by the office of the Megas. It is not to be moved.
I strongly suggest that Hypatios runs for the hills. The Turks are after him. I'm not sure why he thought it would be a good idea to run through Turkish territory alone after he massacred thousands of Turks...
Zigavinos can move the units heading towards Iconium
Vissa, fresh from victory and the Crusades, has run south into the desert with only himself and his bodyguards. He did this against my orders. I demand that he turn around and come back up north. Or at least tell me what the heck he is doing down there. (OOC: I made the move OOC at Ramses request but did not approve it IC.)

Report for 1129:

In 1129 we learned the limits of Empire. Cairo has revolted and a Turkish army has besieged Adana. With the Crusade now funded from our coffers, spending is once again tight. But because of us working together to improve the economy, it is not as debilitating as it would have been.

Armies:
The Emperor's army suffered casualties defeating the Jihad. Units were sorely understrength and I have merged them together. The Emperor's army is still up to fighting strength. I strongly suggest that the Caesar fall back and help his father protect the city. We do not know how many more Jihad armies are out there.

For Kalameteros's army, I disbanded the Armenian Archers and recruited Trebizond Archers from Markianople.

Aleksios is moving towards Constantinople with his army.

Savva's army is gathering in Iconium to be used as Kalameteros wishes.

I took Pavlos up on his deal and disbanded his Armenian Cavalry in return for a Byzantine Cavalry at Tbilisi.

Building:
With Zigavinos's permission, I sold off the stables and mustering hall at Smyrna. I then started the process of having Smyrna change from a castle, to a town.

Nicosia started upgrading to a castle. We will need a recruitment center in the Levant and Nicosia makes the most sense due to it's secure location and relative level of development.

Foreign Affairs:
I sold trade rights and maps to the English for 2000 florins.

Wind power is the new best thing since sliced bread. I guess that's one use for a windmill...

We finished the mission to blockade Gaza and got 1000 florins.

We are the strongest Kingdom in the known world.

Domestic Affairs:
Annios was accepted into the royal family. (OOC: with Motep's permission.)

As I mentioned, Cairo revolted. Luckily, no one was hurt. The Crusaders will have to figure out what to do. I am hereby reclaiming all units out in the field in the provinces of Cairo and Alexandria. These army units are frozen until I say otherwise.

Vissa was checking up on the status of the Christian monuments by Thebes. Running low on supplies, he decided to take shelter in the castle. Banging on the door, the garrison ran out and was destroyed by Vissa. He took the settlement. I will take this chance to say that I am giving Vissa the province of Thebes.

There are rebels to the west of Kantakouzinos.

There are also rebels to the north of Thessa. I have given Nikolaos the use of 2 units of peasants. They are with him now and he can use them to defeat the rebel army.

OOC: 6 RBG's have been recruited. 3 in Corinth and 3 in Sofia.

Report for 1131:

We are now half-way through my term. I've rebuilt the economy, maintained the armies, gotten merchants to trade exotic goods, converted many to the faith, and built in almost every province. With your help, we now have more money to keep our armies maintained, and to keep financing improvements in our provinces.

Armies:
Emperor: Spear Militia and Archer Militia were retrained in Constantinople

Aleksios: Is still headed for Constantinople

Savvas: The rest of his army is headed towards Kalameteros

Kantakouzinos: Him and his army is headed for Diyarbakir

Buildings:
Aleppo, Adana, Tbilisi, and Nicaea all started Land Clearance
Sinop started a Grain Market
Iconion and Yeravan started Ports
Thebes started a small chapel
Bucharest started Wooden Walls

Foreign Affairs:
We sold maps to Poland for 2000 florins
The HRE are still the strongest Kingdom around
Turks have sieged Damascus
I have been sending spies on missions. It made the Thieves Guild notice us. They have sent a Spymaster to liaise with the Emperor.

Domestic Affairs:
Cairo sallied against Methodios. He beat the rebels and took the city. Reports are coming in that the city was sacked. I'll leave it up to the Senate to decide whether the act was legal. Since the Crusade is over, it is debatable whether Cairo was any longer a Crusade target. Regardless, the money is there and needs to be spent. The sum was 18000 florins and it is already in the treasury. Before I get flooded with "advice" on how to spend the money, I already plan to spend it on expensive improvements that I have had to keep waiting. Constantinople, Thessalonica, and Athens all need bigger walls and I will approve those improvements when I sign off on expenditures this year.

Because Kalameteros moved his army in to support Adana, the Turkish army paused and has not assaulted yet.

Permissions:

As always, if it is not listed, you can not move it.

Kalameteros can move the peasant archers in the Iconion province. And the peasants and town militia in the Adana Province.

Pavlos can move the Byzantine Cavalry in the Yeravan Province.

Armatos can move the spy that is in Antioch. If he attacks the Turkish army first, he can break their siege. Which will allow our spy to infiltrate Damascus before Armatos sieges it.

Stavros can move the Order's Crusade Army. This is in 3 seperate "stacks." One stack is the Great Cross in Cairo Province. Another is the 6 infantry in the east edge of Cairo province. And the last is the 2 cavalry that are at the east edge of Alexandria Province.

Methodios can move his 5 units which are right next to the city of Cairo. Also, the Swordsmaster's Guild wishes to establish itself in Cairo. I would like Methodios's thoughts on this before I consider accepting. He can not accept the offer himself but he can deny it.

Annios can move the 3 units that are currently with him in the Alexandria Province.

Miscellaneous:

OOC: I moved avatars for Rowan, Kag, and NN according to their wishes. I also moved Motep into Constantinople since it seemed like he wanted his avatar in there and his SOT gives me permission to move him.

OOC: There are a couple battles this turn. I will take the save back sometime tomorrow. If you need more time, let me know.

Report for 1132:

Instead of being read in the Magnaura by Makedonios himself, this report is sent by letter to be read by an aid.

Emperor, Caesar, and Senators,

I am writing this report from inside a besieged city. The Templars have attacked. Fresh from being granted the Omne Datum Optimum from the Pope, they have decided to flex their muscle. Combine this papal bull granting the Templars privileges with the fact that the Turks walked right past Kalameteros and into Adana, the Catholic Crusading Order decided the time was ripe to attack us. The Templars and Byzantium are now at war. If I survive this siege, I will give them a war.

(OOC: During the Templars turn, they took their big army and besieged Antioch. To say I was surprised would be an understatement. Oh well, it's part of the game and should make for an interesting turn.)

Armies:

All armies are up to code and either have their units or their units are close by.

Buildings:

I took 12000 from the sacking of Cairo and started upgrading Constantinople's walls. The idea of the Fatimid's financing the defenses of the city they are going after holds some appeal.

The other 6000 was used to upgrade the walls in Thessalonika and Athens.

Sofia started communal farming.

Markianople started a church.

And Cairo started an Ikoner Studio. Spreading our faith to these people is a priority. They deserve something from us besides slaughter. The Swordsmith Guild has been denied because funds were needed elsewhere. But, a Merchant Guild has offered to set up in Cairo.

Events:

Sicily, England, and Russia all lost their leaders.

Isaakios has been married. May God bless their union.

The Turks walked right past Kalameteros and took Adana. Despite what Hypatios has done to them, they occupied the castle. (OOC: I know deguerra was assuming he would get a defensive battle but he was not close enough when the Turks assaulted. Only the garrison showed up on the battle screen so I had to auto-resolve it.)

As mentioned the Templars took advantage of this moment and declared war. I have submitted a plan to my second in command and the Order will strike back this year. I will shatter the Templar army and, God willing, will take Tortosa from them before you read my next report.

The Turks also took nearby Damascus.

Stavros's recon mission to Gaza was repulsed. (OOC: KP took two cav and sieged Gaza in order to build a ladder to use later. The garrison sallied. Because only a 2 unit captain stack was in the battle screen, and they would have lost bad, I retreated them.)

Despite all of this, we are the strongest Kingdom in the known world.

Permissions:

Annios can move his 3 units.

Stavros can move the Order's Crusader units and the spy nearby.

Kalameteros can move the peasant archers in Iconium province.

Methodios is free to give me his thoughts on a Merchant Guild for Cairo. As before, he can not accept but he can deny it.

OOC:

I moved Rowan and NN according to their wishes. Which is funny because where Rowan wanted to be then got sieged. So now Bart is trapped in Antioch with Mak. The Templars have been so peaceful for so long that I never expected them to do this.

LotR-1134 (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/local_links.php?action=jump&catid=193&id=4036)

The Combined forces of Asteri under the aid of Nikiphoros Manouelitis sought out to seek out and destroy the Egyptian Jihad that had been reported pillaging its way through the Anatolian heartland.

The men were commanded in name by Ioannis Kalameteros, however reports have surfaced that Ioannis was at the last minute stuck down by a fever and the relatively untested nobleman Nevoulas ek Philadelphias took the command of the army.

A short hunt on the road to Iconium and the Jihad was found to be camped.

I am delighted to report that this large Egyptian Jihad army has been completely wiped out and the performance of the bodyguards of Nikiphoras, Nevoulas and Ioannis won the day backed up by the brave peasant army of the Asteri.

One soldier stood out in the battle and has now been promoted to Ioannis' retinue labelled as a somewhat Notorious Berserker he will surely be of usefulness in any future battles.

I attempted the ransom the army - it was a longshot at gaining the empire more funds.

Events:

Kalameteros had another daughter. Her name is Simonis. I congratulate both him and the Princess.

Isaakios is obviously not lazy at something. He had a son by the name of Evmathios.

Yerevan is under siege by a couple small Turkish raiding parties.

I besieged Adana with what I could gather together. The Turks sallied. Despite heavy losses, I beat them and occupied the castle. I will state here that I give Adana back to Bart.

Nathanail was attacked by the Templars. I retreated him and the Order's army. The Templars forced a battle. Nathanail lost but survived and took the rest of the army into Antioch. (OOC: Bananbob long ago gave me access to his avatar. I first retreated him and then auto-resolved the battle.)

The Moorish Jihad is next to Sofia. They will get close to Constantinople this year but can not reach it yet. I have recruited 2 more archer militia units to fill out the garrison. Report for 1137:

The Templars have ceased to exist as a cohesive faction. This year, I was able to institute "phase 2" of my plan. With the Templar army drawn out of their castle last year, I was able to send spies in, open the gates, and conduct an amphibious landing. The Grandmaster of the Templars was killed in battle and the castle was occupied. While there are still armies out in the field, these have gone "rebel." The Templar Cardinal and Templar Spy in Antioch have both retired and gone home.

Armies:

Forces in Diyarbakir have been retrained the past couple years.

Lisas's Army has been formed. He already has 2 peasant archers in Trebizond. A peasant and horse archer were trained in Tbilisi. 2 town militia were taken out of Sinop and sent towards Trebizond. 2 town militia were trained in Sinop to replace the 2 that left. Taxes had to be lowered in order to keep with Pavlos's SOT.

Building:

Tortosa started a small chapel
Aleppo started a mustering hall
Bucharest started a port
Sinop started a town hall
Iconium started a small church
Adana started a castle
Tbilisi and Yerevan both started communal farming

Events:

Sold trade rights and maps to Portugal for 2000 florins.

A major earthquake struck Aleppo.

Methodios has a new daughter named Aleksandra. (OOC: I'm sure YLC will love that... :laugh4:)

The Moorish Jihad is just to the west of the capital. I wish the defenders luck.

Permissions:

Lisas can move the 2 town militia that are on the road in Sinop province.

Who ever is leading the Asteri army can move the 2 peasants in Iconium province.

Annios can move his army.

Stavros can move his army.

Methodios is authorized to accept or deny the Merchant Guild in Alexandria.

OOC:

I moved Ig according to his wishes. I was also able to get IK where he wanted to go. W&F did not send me orders for this turn. But, since his SOT does not prevent me from moving his avatar, I moved him towards Medina like he wanted last turn.

When you guys take the save, please make sure the guild offer survives.

I'm taking tomorrow off. The free move period will go on until Monday 9:30PM GMT. Remember, this is the last free move period of the term. Once I do my 1138 moves, we will have the 1140 Senate Session.

Report for 1138:

I have finished my last turn as Megas. I wish to announce right off that I am not running for re-election. Let someone else try to fill these shoes. I have heard many others tell me how I could have done things better. So, let them try their hand at it.

I did what I could to rebuild the economy while maintaining the military. I oversaw expansion while defending what we have. I oversaw the spread of our faith into places that have not heard the Word of our God in some time. I sent merchants to trade in the exotic spices that are abundant in Asia. I sent diplomats around the known world to sell our maps for money.

Pretty much every settlement saw development during my term. For last year, Alexandria has just gotten a merchant guild and has started land clearance. Dongola started a small chapel. Athens and Thessalonika started paved roads. And Caesarea and Diyarbakir started communal farming.

The Moorish Jihad has now besieged our capital. Last year, despite the abundance of military commanders, as well as army units, no one attacked the Moors. I wish you luck as you try to sneak past the road blocks on your way to attend the Magnaura Session.

Last year I sieged the Fatimids in Acre so they would stop trying to reinforce Gaza. They sallied and I took and occupied Acre. It is now the property of the new Grandmaster of the Order.

Not much else to say. It has been an honor and a privilege being your Megas for this term. I thank the Senate for giving me the opportunity to balance out some of the injustices we suffered during our Caesar's criminal neglect.

Acre title given to Armatos ek Naksou (Cecil XIX)
Caesarea title removed from Theophylaktos Petzeas (Ibn-Khaldun)
Pagan Magician removed from Stavros ek Amarinthou (Knights_of_Palma)
Dongola title removed from Vissarionas ek Lesvou (Ramses II CP) and given to Armatos ek Naksou (Cecil XIX)
Scopia title removed from Methodios Tagaris (Tristan de Castelreng) and given to Nikiphoros Manouelitis (Warmaster Horus)

University Traits:
Ioannis Komnenos (Ignoramus) has been given the trait Cultured at level 1.
Andronikos Komnenos (woad&fangs) has been given the trait Just at level 1. (This order was submitted by Motep while he was still playing Andronikos.)
Methodios Tagaris (Tristan de Castelreng) has been given the trait Castle Education at level 1. (Note that the description for this trait is erroneous, it says it increases piety but this is wrong and it increases movement as intended.)
Ioannis Kalameteros (deguerra) increased the trait AcademyTrained from level 1 to level 2.
Armatos ek Naksou (Cecil XIX) removed the trait PoorLogistics.

Note (1): There is currently an adoption offer up with the adopter as Andronikos Komnenos (woad&fangs). For convenience, this may be accepted or declined by anyone at any time during the Senate session, once woad&fangs indicates what he wants to do.

Note (2): Armatos ek Naksou (Cecil XIX) is currently maxed out on ancillaries. If he gains any more province titles without getting rid of other ancillaries, they will not be added to his retinue.

[edit]1b version:
Tortosa title removed from Makedonios Ksanthopoulos (Privateerkev) and given to Stavros ek Amarinthou (Knights_of_Palma).
Adoption offer declined.

------------

Note: Privateerkev's 30 day Throne Room ban includes altering the save for any reason at all. Any changes he makes are to be discarded. If he wishes to have his avatar killed off, someone else can do it with his permission or he can wait until I return from vacation.

Report for 1141:

My fellow senators and royal family of the Komnenos let us all rejoice in the following news:

https://img519.imageshack.us/img519/3333/failedjihadvn8.jpg

My admiration go to all those that managed to defeat these fanatics and furthermore invade their territories. It is entirely appropriate that armies under the command of our legendary leader Basilues Aleksios Komnenos dealt the last blow to the jihad. I understand that one of the few casulaties was a personal friend of the Basilues, I pass on my regrets. As I have said in the senate I shall not rest until these heathens are brought to heel and feel the Roman sword in their homelands.

Priorities:

Pavlos Chrysovergos has had the Byzantine Infantry retrained and two Trebizond archer units recruited in Tblisi as requested. However I was unable to retrain the Trebizond archers in Dyanbikar as requested due to the absence of the correct facilities. Further troops will be built in Tblisi when more men are found (OOC: next turn). The prioritized Leather Tanner will have to wait until work on the farmlands in Tblisi has been completed.

With the completion of the Walls in Constantinople the building will begin right away on the City Hall that the Basilues has requested.

Senator and family announcements:

Comes Vissarionas ek Lesvou has been moved west from Dongala towards Thebes, it was fortunate that he crossed the Nile as he can now see a medium sized Egyptian army directly across the river. It seems the Fatamid's still have isolated warlords loyal to their cause.

Strator Nikolaos Aristenos has began the long journey from Sofia towards the lands of his new master across the seas. His first journey his toward the port of Thessolonica where a small fleet has been made available for the crossing.

I, Nevoulas ek Philadelphius have modified my journey after the defeat of the Jihad at our Capitol and now make my journey south west toward Smyrna.

My congratulations to Comes Methodios Tagaris on his fourth child, a girl named Theodora may she inherit her mothers good looks.

Further congratulations to Isaakos Komnenus on the birth of his second child named after his brother Ioannis (yes another one!!!).

Andrinikos Komnenos has yet another candidate for adoption

Building:

My extensive building works will no doubt catch the eye, I said some time ago that I believed the empire contained too many military outposts and not enough money spinning city like settlements.

I pass on my thanks to Pavlos Chrysovergos and Lisas Attaleiatis for allowing me to convert Trebizond from a Castle to a Town.

I have also made similar modifications to Scopia and Aleppo as I felt necessary.

My desire to aid House Illes Korakas in appeasing their settlements, compelled me to build some Council chambers in Cairo.

I have also commissioned garrison quarters to be built in Belgrade and a Bowyer in Corinth, to aid my plans of fortifying the west.

Work has finished of the Chapel at Nicosia, the Port in Bucherest, the Town hall in Sinop and the small chapel in Dongola.

Thessolonica has an offer for a Merchents Guild - I have left the offer open for Patrikos Ioannis Kalemetros to consider.

Misc:

Due in part to the Moorish sackings in the west, the people of Arta, Athens and Thessolonica have had to appeased with lower tax rates to avoid the danger of full scale rioting.

The Fleet in the eastern Mediterranean has been consolidated in Acre, with the ambition to blockade gaze as soon as possible.

Aragon and Sicily are now at war.

Relations have impoved further with the Kievan Rus.

Gaza has been brought into the fold by occupation. The Fatimid Sultan is dead.

Few losses on our side though Methodios' whole BG lay dead but himself at the end of the fight.

Didn't even truly use the Order men except to delay and divert some of the Fatimids. In total, Stavros men must have taken less than 10 deaths.

Report for 1141:

My congratulations to Comes Methodios the Brave after his speedy take of the garrison at Gaza. The settlement now belongs to him and his house Illes Korakas. The Fatamid Sultan is dead, the leadership of this faction is now in disarray, the named Crown Prince has emerged just south of Cairo.

Priorities:

Pavlos Chrysovergos has had 3 units of Dismounted Byzantine Lancers built in Tblisi. This takes him up to 6 out of the 10 PUs that he is allowed this term. The prioritized Leather Tanner will have to continue to wait until work on the farmlands in Tblisi has been completed.

The work on the City Walls has begun as the Basilues Aleksios Komnenus priortised.

Armatos ek Naksou has had 7 of his 10 PUs built for him in the holy land as requested.

Senator and family announcements:

Strator Nikolaos Aristenos continued his journey toward Alexandria by boarding a group of vessels near Thessaloníki.

I, Nevoulas ek Philadelphius continued my journey towards Smyrna.

Andrinikos Komnenos moved east in Anatolia past Sinop and now approaches a small rebel army. Yet another candidate has offered himself up for adoption, after I rejected the last one.

Building:

The conversions of Aleppo, Scopia and Trebizond have been completed. Work can now begin on turning these centres into fine economies.

Speaking of which, a Market in Iconium, a Grain exchange in Smyrna and a Market in Sinop will be welcome news to the Roman accountants ears. These buildings are under development.

Construction on a small chapel has begun in Acre. Also as Arta is not yet big enough to support a Port, work on clearing land for local farms has been commissioned.

A leather Tanner is being developed in Sofia to better armour our troops in the west.

I accepted the request for a Merchents guild in Thessaloníki, on the behalf of the house of Asteri. Another has been offered to open up in Athens, again I shall leave it initially to my friend and mentor Ioannis Kalematros to decide.

Misc:

Sinop and Yeveren has had to have their tax rate dropped to avoid rebellion.

Unfortunately the people of Aleppo are currently in revolt.

The council of nobles have asked us to blockade Mecca.

There is a small rebel force to the north of Bucharest.

Congratulations go out to my longtime friend Domestikos Vartholomaios Ksiros who finished off the work by the order to eliminate the last of the irratating Knights Templar hangers on. A fine victory indeed and one taken at great personal risk, I salute you.

Priorities:

Pavlos Chrysovergos has 4 out of the 10 PUs available. The prioritized Leather Tanner will start work soon on the completion of recent farming improvements.

The work on the City Walls has begun as the Basilues Aleksios Komnenus priortised, he may priortise one other building. Our great leader has all 15 of his 15 PUs available.

His son Caesar Ioannis Komnenus likewise has all of his 2 of 2 PUs available.

Armatos ek Naksou has 3 of his 10 PUs available.

Ioannis Kalematros has all 8 of his 8 PUs available

Senator and family announcements:

More happiness for our royal family as yet another bundle of joy has been given to Isaakos Komenus and his young wife. I have been informed that their third child is a boy named Appollonas , a grand name indeed.

Strator Nikolaos Aristenos continued his journey toward Alexandria, the fleet he is on is currently sailing across the Mediterranean

I, Nevoulas ek Philadelphius boarded a vessel to cross the Aegean sea.

Andrinikos Komnenos moved east in Anatolia he now approaches Dyardikar after avoiding contact with a small rebel force in the area. Yet another candidate has offered himself up for adoption, after I rejected the last one.

Building:

The newly designed towns of Aleppo, Scopia and Trebizond have now started work on profitable grain exchanges. Both Aleppo and Trebizond have had to have their tax rates dropped for a short time as the populace gets used to a different way of life.

The slow religious conversion is failing to keep up with the booming populations, with that in mind I have comissioned work on various places of worship in Alexandria, Dongola, Gaza and Adana.

Excellent news for travelers in the west of our realm, work has been completed on paved roads in Athens and Thessaloníki. Meanwhile a Bowyer and Garrison Quarters have been completed in Corinth and Belgrade.

In the far east, the outposts of Tblisi and Yeveren have compled their farmland reforms.

Finally a small chapel has been completed in Acre.

I accepted the request for a Merchents guild in Athens, on the behalf of the house of Asteri.

Misc:

An English scholar managed to translate an Arabic Alchemy document. Frankly I do not know what to make of it.

Our relations have dropped with Sicily.

The Crown Prince of the Fatamid Calaphate is on the road to Gaza, I am sure he will soon meet the swords of one of our great commanders.

Report for 1144:

It is my unfortunate duty to bring the following news:

https://img218.imageshack.us/img218/3615/aleksiosdiedqa8.jpg

I feel honored to have served under him as a Senator, General and for this short time as Megas. He is survived by his wife Ireni and his large royal family. Let us all pause and join together in paying our respects for our great leader who has presided over a great resurgence in our empire. I am sure many will have plenty to say on the matter, those who knew him best will surely sum his life up greater than I can.

Aleksios' eldest son Ioannis Komnenus has been long time Caeser and now will step up to become Basileus and I wish to pass on that I will continue to serve you as I did your father, Hail Basilues Ioannis. It is Understood that you have named your adoptive grandson Comes Methodios Tagaris as Caeser, a man who he has been of great benefit to the empire in recent times.

In fact, it was only this year that once again Methodios the Brave despite having recently captured Gaza managed to muster a force to capture and ultimately execute the Fatamid Prince. I wish to add that I personally am delighted with this and have rewarded Methodios by raising as many troops as possible to help maintain the peace in his recently captured provinces.

Hardly anything else seems of importance in these times, however here is the rest of my report.

Priorities:

Pavlos Chrysovergos has 4 out of the 10 PUs available. Work has now begun on on the Priotised Leather Tanner in Tblisi.

The work on the City Walls contunes as the late Basilues Aleksios Komnenus priortised.

His son, the recently crowned Basilues Ioannis Komnenus has all of his 2 of 2 PUs available.

Armatos ek Naksou has 3 of his 10 PUs available.

Ioannis Kalematros has all 8 of his 8 PUs available.

Senator and family announcements:

Grandmaster Armatos ek Naksou has a Tax farmer added to his retinue

Strator Nikolaos Aristenos continued his journey toward Alexandria, the fleet he is on is currently sailing across the Mediterranean.

I, Nevoulas ek Philadelphius have landed near Corinth.

Andrinikos Komnenos moved east in Anatolia, he is now just North of Diyardikar. Yet another candidate has offered himself up for adoption, after I rejected the last one.

Domestikos Zigavinos Vasilakios has ventured to visit the battlegrounds of the great Asteri victory and placed a watchtower to watch over there.

A Keiran Rus princess has come of age, perhaps another can be added to our royal family?

Building:

I had to make a correction to works in Alexandria, I have decided to alter the works on the Orthodox chapel and turn them into more functional Council Chambers.

In guilt I decided to compensate for my unpious act elsewhere by beginning construction of an Orthodox chapel in Acre and Bucherest, may God forgive me.

I once again had to drop tax rates in Thessaloníki, the populace in this and other cities in the west are starting to crave better care. I have addressed this with starting work on administrative developments such as a Town Hall in Thessaloníki and Council Chambers in Athens.

More works continue to prepare our western front, with a Leather Tanner in Belgrade, a Practice Range in Corinth and a Wooden Wall for the outpost formally called Durazzo.

Better profit will hopefully result in changes in Anatolia, with a Grain exchange in Nicaea and higher tax rates in Sinop and Trebizond.

I bring news of completed works on religious buildings in Adana and Gaza, the work has been completed in a magnificent Cathedral in Antioch.

Good news for the Peasants, remodelled farm work improvements has finished in Markinopol, Dyandikar and Arta. Also Council chambers have been completed in Cairo, a Leather Tanner in Sofia and a Grain exchange in Smryna.

Misc:

England are the most technologically advanced faction.

Our spies have located the next Crown prince of the Fatamid Caliphate in line, he is currently residing in Mecca, which is now known to be their new Capital. I plan to bring you an update on the sweeping up of our enemies in the senate as soon as possible.

The council of nobles have asked us to blockade Mecca.

There is a small rebel force to the north of Bucharest, there is another in between Sinop and Trebizond, a second has sprouted up here. I have asked my lord Zigavinos to intercede, once he picks up some troops in Markinopol.

Point of Order question; can I sieze ships that are still at the docks of another House? I moved Vissa and three companies of men onto those ships at the Cairo docks with the intent of taking them, but then I had the thought that it isn't quite clear if they can be taken while they're still docked. I'm not sure there's a logical distinction, but I really, desperately, strongly want to avoid a rules debate so I'm posing the question immediately.

I'll post a link to both the save before my action and the save after in case I'm away and the decision goes the other way. There's plenty of time for me to do a different action later if necessary, so if this isn't a quick and easy decision for our GM just work off the last save. I would've asked earlier, but the distinction between a fleet at dock and just on the shore line didn't occur to me until I was looking at the save.

Report for 1146:

Long live the new Emperor, our beloved Basileus Ioannis. I hastily left the emergency session, I bring you the following news... the mysterious new Fatamid Sultan Mu'in now lies with a large army in Mecca. I know not much about this man, legend has it he is a useful commander, I wish our new Caeser and the intrepid Comes Vissa best of luck in their venture to track down and kill such an enemy. The current Crown prince is a less capable man held up in Medina, meanwhile there is another minor warlord somewhere in between our armies and Mecca.

Meanwhile the Seljuks have made a bold attempt to retake Adana with a pitifully small force. Please can the Order send these fools back from where they came from. Could the order also direct me how they wish to spend some resources on taking Damascus? I have been able to ascertain some more Turkish settlements in the East, one such place is known as Mosul.

Alas I have been unable to track down the whereabouts of these Moors - our scouting fleets continue their search.

Priorities:

Pavlos Chrysovergos has 4 out of the 10 PUs available. Work has now continues on on the Priortised Leather Tanner in Tblisi.

The work on the City Walls continues as the late Basilues Aleksios Komnenus priortised.

Strator Nikolaos Aristenos continued his journey toward Alexandria he has made dry land and should be in Alexandria shortly.

I, Nevoulas ek Philadelphius have taken my army into Athens, we await reports of Moorish sightings.

Andrinikos Komnenos moved east in Anatolia, he is now on the road to Yeveren. Yet another candidate has offered himself up for adoption, after I rejected the last one.

Domestikos Zigavinos Vasilakios has continued his journey on to Markinopol, his first visit to the city formally known as Caeserae.

Three enterprising young men have applied to become senators. I must confess I cannot get my tongue around the last of the threes name.

Building:

Our western frontier continues to look safer, a Drill square is being constructed in Sofia. A similar building is being worked on in Markinopol.

Our two small provinces of Arta and Adana have recieved some attention, Arta is building a grain exchange and Adana is working on farming improvements.

Financial buildings have been completed in Scopia, Aleppo, Trebizond, Sinop and Iconium. I hope to capitilze on this by sending out even more merchants as soon as possible/

Misc:

We are the most technologically advanced faction.

Tax rates have been dropped in the Capitol and Trebizond.

The council of nobles have asked us to blockade Mecca.

There is a small rebel force to the north of Bucharest, there is another in between Sinop and Trebizond, a second has sprouted up here. I have asked my lord Zigavinos to intercede he will soon leave Markinopol and race up to deal with this scum.

Continued Methodios' march south in Arabia.
While scouting ahead of his forces, he stumbled upon a small Fatimid stack led by a general and a small rebel stack.

Engaged both, one after the other. Killed the Fatimid general.
Scored a Clear and a Heroic victory. Lost half the BG in the two fights.

Methodios got two new monikers in the same turn : first "the Champion" on attacking the Fatimids and "the Conqueror" on defeating the rebels.

Rest of the army caught up with Methodios and continued advance on Medina, heavily defended (about two stacks with a lot of javelinmen and javelin cavalry)

Moved Cairo fleet south to engage Fatimid fleet.

With the Megas' permission, moved our 2 spies in the area into Medina to prepare for the upcoming siege situation. (one got a +1 Xp)

Report for 1147:

At last news of the despicable Moors, one of our esteemed diplomats was in talks with the far off nation of Portugal in Iberia when news came of the death of their Monarch at the hands of these fiends. It would seem the 'reconquista' is struggling to build momentum out there. Furthermore, the Moors have captured Lisboa and we do not yet know the status of the Christians living there. I am now doubly resolved towards meeting this foe on the battlefield and have boarded a ship near Athens with the express desire to do so.

The latest emergency session of the senate ended in confusion, fellow senators do not be alarmed. Our heroic Caeser continues to march towards the final forces of the Fatamid Caliphate, he has my full backing on defeating this foe once and for all.

Meanwhile the Order continue to prepare for the assault in Damascus, I pass on my best wishes towards the grandmaster and his brethren on this task. Speaking of the Seljuks, we have been able to find the source of their fading power in far off Baghdad. It is here where their current weak leader young Sultan Salem resides with a large but poorly equipped army. The Seljuks continue to hassle our outlying settlements, a medium size force now approach Yeveren.

Priorities:

Pavlos Chrysovergos has 4 out of the 10 PUs available. Work is now finished on the Priortised Leather Tanner in Tblisi.

The work on the City Walls continues as the late Basilues Aleksios Komnenus priortised.

His son, the recently crowned Basilues Ioannis Komnenus has all of his 2 of 2 PUs available.

Armatos ek Naksou has 0 of his 10 PUs available, following the recruiting of 3 more Byzantine Cavalry in Tortosa. Work had begun on the Priortised Ikoners Studio in Antioch, a shining beacon of Orthodox Christianity.

Ioannis Kalematros has all 8 of his 8 PUs available.

Senator and family announcements:

Andrinikos Komnenos moved east in Anatolia, has joined the main Tblisi-Dyardikar road and should make Tbilisi soon. Yet another candidate has offered himself up for adoption, after I rejected the last one.

Domestikos Zigavinos Vasilakios has taken a small armed force and moved up towards the assumed rebel raiding bases on the shores of the Black sea.

Comes Vissarionas ek Lesvou continues his journey toward the final Fatamid settlements Mecca and Medina as he travels through the arid lands of the Sinai.

Building:

The public gets what the public wants in Scopia, a formal Brothel has been set-up. It is said that underworld agents such as spies populate such places and we could do with more eyes and ears on our western borders.

Meanwhile, in Trebizond the fortifications have been upgraded a wooden wall is being built.

I am delighted to report that the Castle at Corinth can soon be upgraded to a mammoth Fortress. It was one of my ambitions this term to create strongholds in the west, this will prove a nice step in that direction. A smaller castle in Belgrade has finished work on a leather Tanner, a similar building has been completed in our eastern stronghold at Tblisi.

The west continues to improve its settlements with an administrative building in Thessolonica, a new wooden wall in Durazzo and a financial institution in the Basilues' very own Nicaea.

Word of our faith contunes to expand its appeal with larger churches in Bucherest and Dongola.

Misc:

A second Keivun Rus princess has come of age, I am sending a diplomat to discuss on here availability. I myself have no ambitions above my station to marry into royalty, however we do have some unmarried royal family members to potentially ask for hands in marriage.

The council of nobles have asked us to blockade Mecca.

There is a small rebel force to the north of Bucharest, there is another in between Sinop and Trebizond, a second has sprouted up here. I have asked my lord Zigavinos to intercede he has left Markinopol to race up and deal with this scum.

Three RBGs queued for Dafuge in Thessalonica. The one he chooses will be teleported to his desired starting location.
Alexandria title removed from Methodios Tagaris (Tristan de Castelreng) and given to Nikolaos Aristenos (YLC).
Stavros ek Amarinthou (Dafuge) killed off. Torotosa title CANNOT be transferred to Armatos ek Naksou (Cecil XIX) because his retinue is full.
Philippos Eirinikos (Ichigo), Tarasios Sarantinos (Byblos), and Anastasios Neokaisareitis (The Lemongate) killed off.
Privy Seal ancillary given to Andronikos Komnenos (woad&fangs).
Lord High Chancellor ancillary removed from Ioannis Komnenos (Ignoramus) and given to Apionnas Vringas (AussieGiant).
Lord High Steward ancillary given to Pavlos Chrysovergos (Ituralde).

NOTE: I have tested Ioannis Komnenos (Ignoramus) and I believe that his Authority stat is indeed bugged. When I manually removed all of his + to Authority traits, his Authority stat suddenly jumped to 10. I cannot find any reason for this in the game files, and the only thing I can think of is that it is a leftover bug from the stripped out BBB Civil War system. From now on, unless someone can prove that the Authority stat being displayed for Ioannis Komnenos is correct and not bugged, his Authority will be calculated by adding up the + and - listed in his traits and retinue. Accordingly, Ioannis Komnenos' Authority is currently 5, and CA E3.2 passed.

Report for 1149:

I come with a report of a Natural disaster in one of our new provinces in the lands to the south. Here the ground shook severely in what my advisers are calling an Earthquake - some citizens were killed as was a high ranking missionary work. Let us pray for them.

I bring good news and congratulations once again to the Caeser Methodios Tagaris, whose brave acts have rewarded the whole empire extracting a ransom demand. This ransom has helped pay for some mighty walls in the Basileus' city of Nicaea. The Caeser has the so called holy city of Medina under siege and despite facing huge forces I am certain will bring back more glory for the Roman Empire.

The Seljuks are proving a nuisance pestering our villages in the outlying settlements of Tblisi and Yeveren a large force under a useful general have based themselves here. Meanwhile a second now slightly larger force have Aleppo under siege. I only hope the Order can sally a force to control this region soon.

Sadly I have misjudged the logistical operation of hunting for the Moors, after some months at sea I realised I needed further ships to supply us for the voyage and have return to Athens while I continue to prepare personally for the assault on the Moors.

Priorities:

Pavlos Chrysovergos has 4 out of the 10 PUs available. Work is now finished on the Priortised Leather Tanner in Tblisi.

The work on the City Hall has now finished and will serve as a fine memory to the late Basilues Aleksios Komnenus who priortised this.

His son, the recently crowned Basilues Ioannis Komnenus has all of his 2 of 2 PUs available. As Basilues it is my understanding that he is allowed a Priortised building or two. His announcement in the Senate for the priortising of a Stone Wall has been accepted of course and is now being built in Nicaea.

Andrinikos Komnenos has yet another candidate has offered himself up for adoption, after I rejected the last one.

Meanwhile his younger brother Isakkos Komnenos has sired a fourth child. This one is a girl named Efsevia, a beautiful name.

Domestikos Zigavinos Vasilakios has taken a small armed force and attacked one of the two rebels camped on the shores of the black sea between Sinop and Trebizond. This was summerly defeated and now he will move to destroy the second of the two.

Comes Vissarionas ek Lesvou continues his journey toward the final Fatamid settlements Mecca and Medina he now is about to entire the enemy territory.

Building:

I can only but admire the achievements of our beloved Caeser, in recognition of his fine work I have commisioned the improvements to transport links to Cairo. The roads in this area will be now paved.

As work continues on castles in the west with Belgrade now building some stables and the completion of a Practice Range in Corinth, the East has not been neglected the stronghold of Tblisi is working on a Blacksmith as the troublesome Turkish forces approach.

I have continued to expand the administrative facilities of some of the empires riches settlements. These provide the lifeblood of our treasury and must continue to function so that we may fund our armies. Thessolonica and Iconium are now building Council chambers and a Town Hall respectively. Whilst these style of buildings have been completed in Athens and Alexandria (Council Chambers) and also a fine City Hall in Consinantinopel itself.

Another Brothel has been authorized in the Anatolian port of Smyrna.

The troubled town of Aleppo can now guard itself better as it will soon be recognized as a large town. This as the farming improvements in Adana and the Orthodox Chapel is completed in Acre.

I am hoping to take advantage of the soon to fall Fatamid Caliphate by siezing the trading oppurtunities near Dongola. I think that the richer citizens of the empire will pay a fine price for Ivory, I am less keen on the slave trade oppurtunities however. A grain exchange has been completed in Arta. This will help stimulate markets for this type of industry.

Misc:

The council of nobles have asked us to blockade Mecca.

There is a small rebel force to the north of Bucharest, there is another in between Sinop and Trebizond. My lord Zigavinos will soon eliminate the scum near Trebizond.
