The effects of loading the save are what happened when the version of M2 was different, like when KIngdoms came out vanilla players couldn't load Kingdom saves without 1.3, when they tried it went back to the loading screen, did you try loading some saves from previous turns? I'll see if I can load LUigi's save.

I foolishly thought I could repair the problem by now. As it stands, I may have to drop out of the game.

In the Grand Campaign Hotseat, as Denmark, lowly and weak Denmark, I viciously insulted and picked a fight with the most supreme superpower in the entire game, to go out with a blaze of glory.

In the Grand Campaign Hotseat 2, I started a bank and have been loaning money to various factions, making the game more interesting. Also, I rescued the Moors and formed many great alliances, some public, some private.

In BC 1, I managed to form a great alliance which dwarfed the map and helped alleviate the tension between member states, provided security and cooperation, which helped the Hindus survive, led to the destruction of the Khwarezmids, the crippling of the Latins, and the rescue and survival of doomed Armenia for a long time. Then, when things went awry, my filthy mouth managed to insult some doodz. As a final taste of pepperoni, I will see to it the Ghorids are destroyed and the Coalition Alliance revives and destroys its enemies. I'm also going to remain alive just so I can taunt and verbally abuse my enemies.

In LoTR I managed to accomplish absolutely nothing, fight no battles, win no settlements, and still manage to be interesting.

I try to rock the casbah a little bit, but I've been informed privately that a lot of people are fearful of me for some reason.

I just hope I don't fall into the Tristan de Castelreng trap and everyone just assumes they have to kill me to stay alive. Sometimes I want to play a diplomacy kind of game, and this is the only way to do it. AI sucks.

And pretty much all I've ever done it hotseats is defend my allies. Not an aggressive move once, at all, ever. Be nice to me!

I totally understand the IC reasons for it after the arguments and insults thrown around in the other thread (all in good fun of course!), but it does create an OOC headache for those of us who would like to take part in public diplomacy and now have to post in and monitor two different threads...

Isn't there some way we can come to an arrangement and just have one thread?

If the Golden Crescent Confederacy agrees to giving all its lands to its opponents, ie the christians, in a fair manner, then we can use the Constantinople thread.
Of course, once the GCC is crushed, then it's pretty obvious which thread we'll use.

Seriously, though, I think it's rather realistic. And you know how things are going to swing in both threads. All factions should keep an eye on the Sur thread, but only those directly concerned could check out the Constantinople one.

And believe me, if you played in LotR, you wouldn't have just one headache...

That would only work if the members of the Constantinople Council would also post in the Sur thread. As it stands, in order to keep up to date with all the diplomacy all factions would have to check and post in both threads.

I'm sure that's true, but in LotR you have a group of players who are committed to RP'ing their characters and are happy with the time commitment. That's why I don't play LotR.

In this game we have a group of players many of whom are used to the style of hotseat played at twcenter, where there is customarily no IC RP'ing and public diplomacy.

I prefer the more involved RP'ing of the Org games, which is why I'm here, but I don't have much time to spend on these games and would like to use it as effectively as possible.

As Merlox points out above (I think) we already see a low participation rate in the diplomacy thread.

Aren't we just making it more onerous and difficult for people to get into it and keep up with it? And increasing the risk that in-game events will be shaped by OOC issues like missing crucial posts in one or the other of the threads?

It seems to me to be unnecessary and to the detriment of the game.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not going to drop out of the game over it or anything, I just think it's a bit silly to have to double the effort for the same outcome.

Actually, I can convert the .RAR's, it just involves downloading them to one computer, converting them, attaching and emailing them to the second computer that has M2TW but cannot run WinRAR, and then downloading and playing the save. That's a lengthy process that can indeed be completely avoided for me if they are zipped. Don't worry about it now, though, EF, I'm already in the middle of that process.

Hey guys, it's merlox, My internet has been down, My Hughe's Modem has died and waiting another, I am currently on a school computer using a school email to post this right now, I am very sad to see that alot of people are dropping out of this game, I hope that it is not something that I have done or a bad job of hosting, If it is I am sorry about it. It is my first game hosting, and I tried to bring something to the org of something I have been doing with Local Friends since Kingdoms came out.

I still may be out of this, but please, Phonexmonkey if you could please sub for my turn if you are still playing, I would play, but my main computer is down with all of my games / internet such, Also please skip the Hindu Raputs turn, It would be very appriciated.

im talking to you all via laptop tht isnt capable of playing this game, after coming home from school today i see that the modem tot computer is down because a lead has come out at the back (lol its worse than it sounds) its a lead that needs a screwdriver or some kind of mad hammer to get back in, only the gold chip things on the end of it seems a bit bent or something, and strangly we dont have any screwdrivers of the right size to put the cable bk in, likeihood is because the wire looks like its need fixing anyway so we'll have to see if we can order one, but i cant play my turn till my modems functioning...hopefully it will be sooner rather than later, if not i may need a sub


EDIT: FIXED GOT RIGHT SCREWDRIVER, ILL DO THIS TOMORROW! AFTER SCHOOL, within 24 hours basically

im willing to play, but for future reference perhaps games should only have 4-8 humans and rest comp, more reliable, it isnt your fault merlox, you modded the BC map out very well and you've put alot of effort into this even with other upsets you've had to deal with, so dont feel bad about it :2thumbsup: when i first heard of hotseats i was very enthusatic and would be...if the holidays were still around! as our lives get busier the enthuicasm tends to diminish...

If any one was to duel nations, if so, I would put a Christian power into the hindu slot, or i would put the hindu slot FIRST on the AI list, as they will not be living for that long, but the two other powers, Seljuk Turks and the Kwasar shahs (lol)

I think that Seljuks don't have any player at the moment. In light of this I strongly suggest that ALL nations whit out a player should be turned to AI control. At least until we get some players for those factions.

I'm sorry guys, sorry for the absence, but thank you Phon for doing all of the work you have already been doing.

I have just recently temped fixed my ME-TW again so it doesn't crash every time i open up a folder, donno what happened, but the temp fix only works for a day, then it takes a day of trying to fix it again! lol

with Armenia, Georgia, Kwshahs, Seljuk, and maybe even Marukia (Currently Ultra is in Aulstrilia, and I do recall him having ME-TW difficulties as well) I would also wish for every one to Re-confirm their spots. As I am going to change every one to AI that is not present withen a 5 day notice. I still hope people will come to aid and join.

i havent been on medieval 4 ages, though i think my bc works, i'll carry on but its going so slow and there so few people around playing that its more the less dormant and a bit of a nuisance when every turn needs a cover player.... and i genuinely belive there are too many players, a hotseat between say 4 peoples enough in my opinion, like in a future gane there could be 4 factions (the rest eleminated) and each player gets there own empire with still no computer controlled players....

The hotseats been dead for a while, no need to drop out, not like were going to randomly pick this up and start playing. though, Good news, I have the starting file still, if any one wishes to start a BC hotseat, with this kind of set up. (Also, I found out that the initial save had some bad things i forgot, (Like how the raphutes were out gunned because of there ability not to build siege engines, so i have to fix this up, but if you all are interested, I will fix up the game, This was one of my best works as a map modder, no other works i've done could of came this close with the balance, and how well it was.
