Warning: This is my very first time, either as a host or a player. However I am a big fan of the mafia games played in the past and I have learned the rules of the game.

With such a small group, I've given almost everyone a special ability designed to extend the game to prevent an early town or early mafia victory. I am considering revealing to everyone which character they are, but not revealing to everyone the special abilities of all the characters.

1. There is at least one scummy character, so no practical joke game here. There is an evil side and a good side.

2. There is something in place to prevent the end of the game when the scummy character dies, but the game is winnable by Town.

3. Town has a number of characters with special abilities. Nothing too extravagant; certain characters will be able to withstand a lynch or a murder attempt, for example.

4. You do not want to lynch certain characters.

5. You do not want to murder certain characters.

NOTICE:

I would prefer to be contacted via email rather than private message.

Askthepizzaguy@yahoo.com

You may also contact me at windows live messenger at that same ID, and askthepizzaguy is my yahoo messenger ID.

I do not approve of monitoring other player's private messaging activities, as this is both unsportsmanlike AND unreliable. Double whammy.

If anyone becomes inactive or drops out, I would like to substitute a player in their place. I dont want dropouts to kill a fun game. They will take on the same role the first player had.

Monday, August 18th, 2008 AD, in the year of our Lord.
...20 AD, in the year of our Donut.

742 Evergreen Terrace,
Springfield, Springfield
USA (and parts of Canada)

4:20AM.

Not quite breakfast time yet.

Except for truckers.

Police Chief Clancy Wiggum is investigating the grisly murder of the entire Simspon family. Well, the immediate family, anyway. Not counting the pets, or the non-canon characters, or the extended family, or the one-shot characters. But, you know, the main dudes. And besides, most of the pets have already been killed off by the show's writers. In an interesting sidenote, during the writer's strike....

GET ON WITH IT!!!!

...Right. So anyways, Wiggum is investigating the grisly murders of Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie.

"Ok boys, search the entire residence for evidence of pizza, pastrami, hot dogs, or any member of the pastry family. And if there's beer in the fridge, I want it on my desk by sunrise."

Officer Lou:
"Okay chief. But you may want to take note that all of the victims appear to have been killed by pies to the face."

Wiggum:
"That's some good work, Lou. I am kind of hungry for dessert. What kind of pies are they?"

Lou:
"Three are banana creme pies, one is custard, and the final one is a cherry pie."

Wiggum:
"Awww... they didn't have any blueberry pies? I'm kind of hungry for blueberry."

Lou:
"I'd also like to point out, chief, that cherry pies are never thrown at people's faces for comic effect, because the cherries are usually baked inside the pie crust, whereas custard and banana creme pies are mostly pie filling, and therefore messier."

Wiggum:
"Okay, Lou, you've done some good work, but we aren't concerned with attention to detail. We're police officers, not mystery writers. The audience is going to get bored if you drone on and on about the kind of pies the victims were killed with. Certainly these details aren't clues which will be used later on to determine the killer."

Lou:
"Right, chief."

Wiggum:
"Now give me the custard pie and call it a night, Lou."

Lou:
"Don't you want me to collect and document the pies as murder evidence?"

Wiggum has already easten most of the custard pie;
"No, that's some good work Lou. Allow me to finish collecting the evidence myself. And have a pizza delivered, it's going to be a long night."

Lou:
"Sir, no pizza place is open at 4:30AM"

Wiggum:
"That's it, Lou, I'm demoting you back down to lieutenant."

Lou:
"I am already a lieutenant, chief."

Wiggum:
"That's some good work Lou. Less paperwork that way."

Okay, we've had 10 take attendance out of the 11 remaining, and I will just assume the final person shows up. Though we won't have much of a game if that person turns out to be the killer.

Everyone, PLEASE try and find a replacement for our final person. I'll ask my friends. I can start this game right now if we have our final player.

I claim the role of Apu. Fos:whoever is Burns and Smithers, they looks most likely to be mafia, but you can never be sure I suppose.

And ATPG, El Diablo is still alive in Proscription mafia, and there are only 5 people left in that.

I suppose people do learn, El Diablo had been wrongly accused and lynched just because of his name... I'm glad the Senators had enough brains to let him live to that stage.

So... Hi-diddly ho, neighborinos! Because of my strong christian faith I really should have the devil burnt... but accusing an innocent man is wrong. I'll just pretend I don't understand Spanish.

I think we should concentrate on Fat Tony, Mr. Burns might be more eviler than Cruella de Vil, but I don't think he hold any grudges against the Simpsons... It's not like any one of them shot him in the past or something like that. :clown:

CLICK THE SPOILER!

"This is Kent Brockman with an Action News Report:

The town has gathered in front of Springfield Retirement Castle, armed with pitchforks, torches, and signs that say "give peace a chance". The crowd looks bloodthirsty, as usual. They seem to be chanting "We want Moleman! We want Moleman! We want Moleman!"

It seems an elderly man has exited the facility, he appears to be walking with a cane. The crowd appears to be racing towards the gentleman... yes... now they appear to be TEARING HIS LEG OFF! Oh mercy. They are beating the poor man to death with his own leg.

Wait, the crowd has stopped. The old man appears to be speaking, let's have a listen."

Jasper:
"Is this about the money I owe in back taxes?"

Police Chief Quimby:
"Aha! So you're a mass murderer AND a tax cheat. You're going to get twice as much jail time, now!"

Jasper:
"Can I have my wooden leg back?"

Quimby:
"Wooden leg? The file doesn't say you have a wooden leg. You are mister Hans Moleman, aren't you?"

Jasper:
"I could be. My name is hardly ever mentioned in the show. But I'm pretty sure Moleman is inside, flossing his gums."

Quimby:
"Let's get him, boys!"

Jasper:
"Hey, what about my leg?"

Kent Brockman:
"The crowd appears to be trampling the old man to get inside the building. There appears to be a lot of commotion, and the crowd is.... yes, they are returning with the filthy mass murderer in tow. It seems the horrifying reign of darkness in Springfield has been lifted, as the man who murdered the entire Simpson family is carried off to the town square to be hanged!"

Moleman:
"Hung!"

Kent Brockman:
"No, that's hanged. It appears this cold blooded killer needs a lesson in grammar. They are stringing him up now... and... Hans Moleman has been executed by a violent mob for the crime of mass murder."

Moleman:
"Ouch, that hurt."

Kent Brockman:
The crowd appears to be dispersing now.... yes, they are just leaving the criminal mastermind known as Mole Man to be devoured by vultures.

Moleman:
"Can I go home, now?"

Kent Brockman:
"Astounding. In 20 years of covering the news, I have never seen someone survive being hanged."

Moleman:
"It's not so amazing. I once survived being inside a car that exploded for no reason. It hurt, a lot."

Kent Brockman:
"So the master criminal known as Moleman has escaped and is still at large. Or perhaps, the one known as Hans Moleman is just a really lucky innocent bystander. But in the court of public opinion, he's the most wanted man in Springfield. Let's ask this local man what he thinks.

Sir, are you afraid that the mass murderer Hans Moleman is still at large?"

Cletus the Slack-jawed Yokel:
"There's a moleman out there? That's purty neat. Imma geet my shotgun and make some Mole stew tonight!"

Kent Brockman:
"How revolting. Good luck to you sir."

CLICK THE SPOILER:

"This is Kent Brockman, in the channel 6 helicopter with Ernie Pye. But this is no mere traffic report..."

Pye:
"Hey!"

Kent Brockman:
"Face facts, Ernie. We are hovering over Burns Manor, where Charles Montgomery Burns is in critical condition. It appears that Burns was intended to be another victim of the mass murderer, who is still unidentified. Set this helicopter down, Ernie!

Police were called as soon as the culprit entered the premesis by shattering a window. It appears that the masked villain smashed an antique vase over his head and attempted to poison him with alcohol. Mister Burns, do you have anything to tell reporters about this incident?"

Burns:
"That cowardly brute was after my precious money, I am sure of it. I managed to swallow my gold tooth, and my Rolex watch before the villain could intoxicate me. The sadistic freak actually managed to force me to drink an entire glass of Cold Duck before I passed out from the awful taste."

Kent Brockman:
"How did you manage to alert police?"

Burns:
"Well, the silent alarm released the hounds, and also contacted police for me. Luckily, Smithers was here to clean up the broken glass and the vase, and also give me a sponge bath and a brain massage before police showed up."

Kent Brockman:
"Fascinating. Well, there have been two near-deaths in Springfield tonight. I sincerely hope that whomever is behind all of this is getting a good laugh, because I do not find it at all amusing. This is ratings week, and people want to see blood and gore."

Burns:
"Excellent. Now get off my property before I have you arrested for trespassing, newsie."

Are we still being broadcast on Fox, Ernie?

Ernie:
"Of course"

Kent Brockman:
"Go :daisy: yourself, Mister Burns."

Quintus.JC

I really think people are wasting their votes on Han Moleman. Seriously, could he be the mafia? I think not, and also the way he survived the lynched could be easily explained, we don't need him dead... and even if we lynch him he always returns in the next episode perfectly fine.

Much of the humour associated with Hans has involved him cheating death innumerable times, usually highly improbably. He survived his car blowing up, catching on fire due to the powerful magnifying effect of his glasses, Montgomery Burns drilling into his brain, capital punishment (in a local jail) after Homer eats his last meal, being buried alive, and being engulfed by the "anti-escape bubble (orb)" that was attempting to catch Marge. Many times people will totally disregard him, usually leading to something like death, or simply imprisonment, but since he appears, even after "dying", those later appearances could indicate he survived. He has also had several accidents where he was not severely injured. :sweatdrop:

Warmaster Horus

"This is Kent Brockman with a breaking news report.

The serial killer remains at large, and the town is growing restless. As with the night before, they are out with pitchforks and torches set aflame, and this time they are also carrying large foam fingers and boxes of Cracker Jack. The occasional violent mob lynching is Springfield's very own spectator sport.

This time there appears to be two victims, I can see distinctly two nooses hanging from the Route 401 overpass. Let's take a closer look."

Chief Wiggum:
"I'll have you all arrested! Vigilante justice never solved anything... except, you know, that one time."

Hans Moleman:
"Excuse me? I'm trying to take my afternoon nap.... hello? Why am I being murdered again? Ohh... I need my asthma medication... this isn't looking good."

Brockman:
"It appears the mob has finally caught Hans Moleman, again. He's the sinister suspect from yesterday's lynching. But this time, Police Chief Clancy Wiggum is going to be lynched as well."

Wiggum:
"You ungrateful, violent mob. How am I supposed to investigate the murders now? Don't you put that noose around my neck, that's a felony and I'll have you arrested. Ok that is enough. Book them all, Lou!"

Lou:
"Sorry, Chief."

Brockman:
"And now they are removing the supports... once again, we are about to witness the brutality of mob justice. Wiggum and Moleman are hanging by their necks. Wait! Wiggum appears to be too heavy... yes, his rope has snapped. He's free!"

Wiggum:
"Ha ha! So long, suckers!"

Brockman:
"And Wiggum is promptly hit by a marshmallow truck."

Wiggum:
"I'm still ok... just a little dazed."

Brockman:
"And along comes another truck, this time loaded with pillows."

Wiggum:
"Ok, this time I feel a little nauseated. I need to go to the hospital:

Brockman:
"And along comes a truck loaded with TNT, gasoline, napalm, matches, and a man holding a lit cigarrette."

Wiggum:
"Ha ha! Missed me!"

Brockman:
"And a freight train filled with gummy bears is inexplicably on the highway, and it has just run over Clancy Wiggum."

"Maybe just a power outage."

Police Chief Wiggum died after only one investigation. Since he is now dead, I'll do town a favor and reveal (to everyone, this time) that Craterus was not responsible for the Simpson murders. His alignment is town, he is Wayland Smithers.

However, Tratorix did not send in a second investigation on day two, and died before night two. Unfortunately, there will be no more investigations.

Lord Winter was Fat Tony, and he was murdered. Beefy187 is Hans Moleman, and has survived two lynchings. I would like to give town a hint; his character is impervious to lynchings, and is a confirmed townie.

"This is Kent Brockman with your channel 6 action news special report.

Three nights after the grisly Simpson murders, our once bright and cheerful little town has devolved into total darkness. It seems that, without Police Chief Wiggum to keep order, and with no new suspects, the town has chosen to randomly execute innocent civilians. Tonight, we see the crowd closing in on Springfield Elementary, where Groundskeeper Willie reportedly resides in a humble dwelling. Once again, loyal viewers, I will be giving you live coverage of this horrendous human atrocity, as we watch otherwise civilized people turn on one another. I am sure to get a Peabody for this!

Reverend Lovejoy:
"In here, my loyal sheep! God has told me in a vision that the perverted, drunken murderer dwells inside this ramshackle shed! May the unmerciful and righteous anger and thirst for vengeance within you all bring the godless heathen to his goat-like knees!"

Groundskeeper Willie:
"Ach, come in here and say that, ya wee dress-wearin' Bible-thumpin' pansy! I'll show you what Willie can do!"

Lovejoy:
"Bring it on, your heathen murderer! May God have mercy on your blackened soul!"

Willie:
"I'll ground up your internal organs and turn them all into haggis!"

Kent Brockman:
"It appears as if the good reverend has gotten into a violent battle to the death with Springfield's notoriously drunk, and superhumanly strong, greased Scotsman. Willie appears to have the upper hand, and he is strangling Reverend Lovejoy and bashing is head against a giant vat of kitchen grease he apparently keeps inside his shack. Lovejoy apparently has no experience in this sort of physical contest, and is being pulverized like a headless chicken."

Willie:
"Ya should'na entered my home, you crouton-eatin' surrender monkey! Willie's shack is the only place on school grounds outside all laws of Man and God. Now it's Willie's turn to unleash hellfire and brimstone on ya! Taste my grease, ya Jesus-lovin' bedwetter!"

Brockman:
"Groundkeeper Willie is drowning the beaten Reverend in the Elementary School's frying grease!"

Willie:
"I was savin' that grease for my retirement... now you've gone and ruined it wit' yer blood and your dead corpse... how am I supposed to sell this stuff now? Now burn in hell, and learn to play a proper organ while you are down there. Suck my bagpipes, churchy!"

Kent Brockman:
Willie has just murdered the town Reverend right in front of an angry mob. There is no doubt now, that even if the serial killer hasn't been found, a cold-blooded murderer will be lynched tonight."

Willie:
"Ach! I was just defendin' myself, you telepromter-readin' pants-wearin' catamite!"

Kent Brockman:
"Nevertheless, the angry mob wants justice. Ta-ta!"

Willie:
"Ya ain't seen the last of Willie! If you kill me, I will become more powerful than ye can possibly imagine! I'm warnin' ye... the bloodshed has only just beginnnnn!"

Kent Brockman:
"The angry mob is battering Willie with pitchforks, torches, and Bibles. They have Willie pinned down, and someone is apparently driving a very large and painful-looking lawnmower towards Willie's head. What you're about to witness is the most gruesome spectacle ever before televised. I'm being informed that we need to take a quick commercial break. And now, a word from our sponsors."

Cuts to a commercial.

"Tonight on FOX: America's most violent mobs caught on tape! You don't want to miss the thrilling and blood-splattering action! See innocent people get brutally destroyed for your viewing entertainment! From the people who brought you FOXXX, a 24-hour adult film channel with kid-friendly programming! Also tune in to FOX-News, which contains unbiased reporting, news, and debate from all sides of the Republican party. We return you to our regularly scheduled broadcasting."

Brockman:
"That is the most disturbing thing I have ever seen. It will take over three months and a team of eight hundred people to clean up the awful mess left behind from that depraved act of mob justice. Groundskeeper Willie, and Reverend Lovejoy, both met their violent end tonight. I sincerely hope that there are no other lynchings or murders for at least 24 hours."

Murder:

Moe the Bartender was watching the events unfold down at Moe's Tavern, witnessing the grim spectacle, through 12 inches of crystal clear black-and-white, rabbit-eared glory.

"Gee, maybe I should attend the next lynching, it should be fun!"

A voice came from the shadows:
"But do you really think you will live that long?"

Moe:
"It's you again... haven't you terrorized Springfield long enough? Stay back, I've got a shotgun behind this bar!"

Dark figure:
"You mean.... this shotgun?"

Moe gasps.
The dark figure remains silent.

Moe:
"I have just one question. WHY are you killing everyone in Springfield?"

Dark figure:
"Wouldn't YOU like to know?"

Moe:
"Yeah, I kinda would. That was the whole point of my question."

Dark figure:
"I'll give you three hints..."

The dark figure fired at Moe, spilling his guts all over his various liquor cabinets, shattering bottles of alcohol everywhere. The lights in the bar flickered.

Moe:
"You shot me! And you spilled my precious liquor all over the floor. Don't you know how much that stuff costs?"

The dark figure fired again this time, in the chest, impacting his heart and lungs. Moe could no longer speak. Instead, he grabbed a large wooden sign and began painting with his own blood, and held it up. The sign reads:

"HELP"

The dark figure shoots Moe in the face, ending his miserable, ugly existence. From behind the bar comes a plume of smoke. The dark figure walks out of the bar, casually... just as the entire bar is engulfed in flames. The fire reaches the gas stove in the back, and the entire bar explodes in a giant fireball, erasing all evidence of the crime, except for minor pieces here and there.

Fenring- survived one assassination attempt. (probably innocent)
Ibn-Khaldun-?
Craterus-Waylon Smithers (confirmed innocent)
El Diablo-?
Beefy 187- survived two lynches. (90% innocent)

That narrows the suspects down to 4 people, I think it would help if El Diablo and Ibn-Khaldun reveal their roles, because there are the most suspcious in my eye. While Fenring should reveal as well, although its highly likely that he is innocent.

Edit: happy birthday ATPG, though your profile doesn't say when your birthday is, probably need to AskthePizzaGuy for confirmation.

After accessing the situation there's only 3 suspects:

Krusty the Clown
Pro. Frink
Apu Nablablablabla

What what would be their motive for the murders?

Krusty - the cynical, unfunny clown of Springfield. Can't find clear motive but I'm sure he's up to no good
Pro. Frink - the local super nerd. Not treated perticularly well by the townspeople because of his nerdiness, maybe he's looking for revenge.
Apu - Hard working local shopkeeper, may have resentment for the town because of the last time when they tried to expel all immigrants from Springfield.

The vigilante killing:

Darkness looms over the Kwik-E-Mart… black clouds shut out all light from the sun, save for a few small fingers of light. A man wearing a trench coat walks towards the sliding glass doors, which slide open gracefully.

Apu-“Hello, my gun-wielding friend. What sort of products am I selling to you today?”

The man stops in front of the register and stares into Apu with cold, wrath-filled eyes.

“I am seeing that you are not being friendly today, sir. Might I offer you a Squishee? Three days past expiration, I am giving 10 percent discounted price.”

Man-
“No… I’m not looking for tasty treats, I am seeking to right a terrible wrong in this town.”

Apu-
“If you are threatening me today, sir, might I advise that you point your gun towards my heart, which is on the left side of my body. Are you quite certain that I cannot be selling you some jerky, or a heat lamp dog?”

Man-
“You can sell me a big, tasty glass of shut the hell up!”

Apu-
“Ok sir, there is no need for being hostile. You are more than welcome to take the cash register and also a complimentary Twinkie for not shooting me sir.”

Man-
“You had better pray to whatever gods you believe in, my swarthy-skinned friend.”

Apu-
“Yes, I think so, but that will be taking a long time I think. But I do not believe Ganesha will intervene in this, because I am being shot and robbed many times since I am coming to your country.”

Man-
“I think you’re the murderer… so long, my Hindu friend.”

The man in the trench coat shot Apu directly in the chest with a large shotgun, blowing him back into the Squishee machine, knocking it over. The lights in the store flickered, and the ground was instantly covered with thick, red, pooling liquid.

“That wasn’t very convenient for you, was it?” the shooter quipped. Then he shook his head at how awful that joke was. The figure stood there, staring at Apu’s prone body. Then, he grabbed a bag of cheese doodles and walked out of the store.

When the shooter left the store, Apu slowly sat up and wiped the cherry-flavored Squishee syrup from his body, and examined his bullet-proof vest. The vest seemed to be partially intact, but the shotgun blast from such close range had blown half of it away.

“Shiva H. Vishnu, I am thankful for being shot in the chest enough times to warrant a steel plate to be holding my ribcage together.”

Apu tapped his bloodied chest, and a loud clinking noise resonated.

“But what if I were being shot in the face?” Apu wondered…

Two lynchings... and no murder.

"This is Kent Brockman with continuing live coverage of the Night Four lynching. It seems that the townspeople of Springfield have a death wish, because the tradition of a double lynching is being observed once again. This time, the affable Krusty the Clown is on the chopping block, and the dangerously talented Professor Frink is about to be burned at the stake. The mob is carrying pitchforks, burning torches, and some are wearing official Stonecutter regalia."

Krusty-
“Hey, hey! You can’t kill me, I’m one of you! I’m a Stonecutter too!”

Lenny-
“Big deal. Everyone in town is pretty much a Stonecutter.”

Carl-
“Yeah. Now, why don’t you be a good little clown and die in an entertaining manner? For all we know, you’re the mass murderer.”

Krusty-
“But I’m too young to die!”

Professor Frink:
“You’ve been on television since the late fifties. Wouldn’t that make you over seventy?”

Krusty-
“SHUT UP!!!”

Wayland Smithers-
“And your merchandise is all shoddily made and bears your disgusting likeness. You’re a sell-out!”

Monty Burns-
“Oh, is the clown going to be murdered? Excellent. I haven’t seen this kind of entertainment since they fed Daniel to the lions.”

Ned Flanders-
“Oh, so you’ve read the Bible?”

Burns-
“The what?”

Apu-
“I don’t want to be a bother, but I have been shot at point-blank range. Could someone be getting me a doctor?”

Hans Moleman-
“Why am I still alive?”

Kent Brockman-
“Now Krusty the Clown is being tied down, with his head against the block.”

Lenny-
“Who wants to do the honors?”

Burns-
“Smithers, would you be so kind as to raise my hand for me?”

Smithers-
“Oh, sir… you’re far too… uh, strong… to lift that large metal axe. Let me do it for you.”

Hans Moleman-
“Hold on just one second. I’ve been everyone’s punching bag for nearly twenty seasons now… it’s about time someone tasted the sweet revenge of Moleman.”

Kent Brockman-
“It seems Hans Moleman, the survivor of numerous lynching and dozens of accidents at the hands of his fellow townsfolk, has decided to do the vile deed.”

Moleman-
“Uhhh… this axe is quite heavy… I don’t think I can hold it steady.”

Kent Brockman-
“Oh dear lord, it seems the elderly-looking man is attempting to sever Krusty’s head from his body, but is having trouble wielding the giant weapon. He takes a swing and cuts off Krusty’s arm.”

Krusty-
“OWWWW!!! That’s my pie-throwing arm!”

Moleman-
“Oops, sorry. I’ll try again.”

Brockman-
“Moleman swings again and slashes Krusty’s large red nose clean off!”

Krusty-
“OWWWW!!! That’s my pie-smelling nose!”

Moleman-
“Sorry, can’t see too well without my glasses. I wish we had some light out here.”

Brockman-
“And another swing, and this time he impales Krusty’s torso.”

Krusty-
“OWWWW!!! That’s my pie-digesting torso!”

Brockman-
“Ok, that’s quite enough with these awful jokes. I want to know how you guys kill Frink.”

Brockman takes his microphone and jams it into Krusty’s mouth, and stands back to watch the clown choke to death.

Brockman-
“Good. Now, the clown is dead. Let’s kill the nutty professor.”

Flanders-
“How about a nice, old fashioned heretic burning?”

Smithers-
“Let’s get him!”

Frink-
“According to my uh, calculations, Town is now severely, and totally, err….. Screwed. Mmmgguuuoy. And, if I may make one last request?”

Brockman-
“What?”

Frink-
“Please don’t burn me at the stake with the fire and the heat and the painful, melting flesh it hurts me. And also would you please tell my wife I love her, she uh… lights up my life, HOYVIN-GLAVIN!”

Moleman-
“Just die already, you Jerry Lewis wannabe!”

Brockman-
“Now, loyal viewers and news junkies, witness how I, Kent Brockman, set fire to this annoying nerd-thing!”

Frink-
“OH Giant flesh-eating bananas this is very painful how it burns! It burns!!! Help me!!”

Brockman-
“I think it’s just about time for our serial killer to dispose of another miserable citizen of this jerkwater burg. Where are you?”

A man wearing a long trench coat runs past Kent Brockman, and smashes Wayland Smithers in the face with a giant sledgehammer. Unsurprisingly, Smithers is planted to the ground. The killer disappears back into the giant mob before anyone can identify him.

Moleman-
“Oh dear… another innocent victim dies.”

Lenny-
“Maybe now I can get that promotion and a raise I’ve always wanted.”

Burns-
“A raise? I wouldn’t hold your breath.

Smithers, you simple-headed lay-about, get up this instant. I’m getting a bit of a headache and I have an odd craving for endangered white rhino steaks, the rarest bottle of wine in the world, and a dodo egg.”

Smithers-
“Owww….. Right away, sir…”

Burns-
“Excellent.”

Brockman-
“Stunning. It seems that yet another potential victim has been spared. The serial killer, however, remains at large.”

Hans Moleman-
“It’s not me, so don’t even bother.”

Carl-
“I’m getting kind of bored. Once you’ve seen one violent mob lynching, you’ve seen them all. Who wants to play Russian roulette?”

Hans Moleman-
“Not me. I always lose that game.”

Brockman-
“Well, I am stumped. Does anyone have any idea who the serial killer is?”

Apu-
“I still am needing a doctor to stitch me up again!"

Smithers-
“What happened to you?”

Apu-
“Nothing out of the ordinary. Just a shotgun wound to the chest. Thanks be to Ganesha, I did not have to miss work!”

Begin Day Five

P.S. I gave you guys a few hints.

Quintus.JC
08-26-2008, 10:13
What the hell, the game doesn't end?!

Since I'm certain this is the last round of voting, I'll reveal myself. I am the Vigilante, after witnessing the death of Reverent Lovejoy I decided to take the law in my own hands. My alligance is still town, you can see that in the write-ups when I tried to kill Apu. Now the matter seems less clear.

Craterus - He is supposed to be confirmed innocent, so I won't bother with him.
Fenring - Survived one assasination attemp, that leaves him innocent, right?
Beefy - An unlynchable mafia is just crazy!
Quintus. JC - I am the Vigilante with the ability to kill 1 person everyround if I think they're the serial killer (only after the murder of Lovejoy). I was certain either Elite Ferret, El Diablo or Krusty would be the killer so since the other two were lynched I decided to go for Elite Ferret.
Elite Ferret - Dubious, but it would be strange to gave the killer the ability of an extra life from assassinations if he were the killer himself.

So... what do we do now?

Ferret
08-26-2008, 11:26
Uhhhh well that write up proves my reveal to you, and yeah the mafia wouldn't have an extra life, because they wouldn't be attacked, unless there was a vigilante, which there is...

Craterus was claimed innocent by host...
Fenring was attacked by mafia...
Beefy: if the mafia is unlynchable then that makes it impossible for the town to win...
Quintus:the mafia wouldn't be the vigilante, but the fact that there was no murder adds a little suspicion, though I think that's more likely because Ibn was the murderer.

I admit I seem the most likely suspect, if I wasn't me I'd vote myself but I know I'm not mafia...

In the other thread ATPG did say he had something in place to stop either side winning too easily, perhaps a former townie has been made into mafia. If this is the case I'd say it's most likely Fenring as ATPG wouldn't say that Craterus is innocent if he wouldn't be for long, unless he's trying to make us lose. However if there is no kill tonight and the game doesn't end I'd say the new mafia is Quintus, and the vigilante thing is a coverup.

For now vote:Fenring

Ferret
08-26-2008, 11:29
Ahh so there was an attempt, but Crate survived. I think that clears Quintus, he wouldn't be able to kill twice in one night, then again he was the only one not present at the attempt, unless he was the killer...

Quintus.JC
08-26-2008, 14:04
Err. So nobody here got any evidence to accuse anyone, we'll just have to do things the opposite way, process of elimination.

Craterus - all fault will be blamed on ATPG if he was the killer.
Beefy - Been lynched twice, he just can't be the mafia.
Fenring - Survived one attemp, but still doesn't put him in the clear
Quintus - I am the vigilante, I'm supposed to haunt the haunter, not haunt myself.
Elite Ferret - The only person without clear proof, however after my attempt kill on him seemed to prove him sort of innocent, because he wouldn't need the ability of an extra live if he were the killer himself.

I feel like i'm repeating myself, but the scene is seriously quite baffling, the only plausible explanation would be Elite Ferret's one about one of the townie switched alligance. If that's the case than only Beefy and Craterus can be confirmed, since the former has been lynched already and latter only survived an attempt last round. Fenring could of switch sides by now. If Elite Ferret had switched then I should of already killed him. I think the suspicion goes to Fenring for now, maybe after surviving the assassination he known the killer and joined his side.

Vote: Fenring.

Kralizec
08-26-2008, 14:56
Or we could go for a more obvious explanation: Elite Ferret is the mafioso in this game, and ATPG decided to give him an extra life so that the vigilante wouldn't knock him out with the first attempt.

If I were the mafia I'd have to kill every possible townie, including mr. Smithers wich wouldn't make sense because I, Charles Montgomery Burns would be hopelessly lost without my loyal slave assistant. He (Craterus/Smithers) was attacked though, not to mention with a giant sledgehammer wich I would never be able to lift.

Beefy seems clear, the only other explanations that make sense would be that ATPG intended the mafioso to be killable by the vigilante only, or that he isn't immortal but can survive a set number of lynchings. I don't believe either of them.

So unless someone else is the vigilante and Quintus is trying to mislead us (wich would be extremely bold), there's only one option left for me:

Vote: Elite Ferret

Askthepizzaguy
08-26-2008, 15:22
Well, I'm not convinced that town will win anymore, but now you guys truly appear to be putting on your thinking caps.

But I was present at the attempted murder of smithers, as is clear in the write up, and was attacked earlier, so unless you are suggesting I'm more than one person I don't see how I could have hit some one with a sledgehammer then commented on it without anyone noticing...

Quintus.JC

This is most baffling, often in cases such as this, the least likely person is actually the most supsicious person.

@EF-

Oooh.

If you'll notice, all of the suspects were present. It's actually very possible for everyone here to have donned a trenchcoat, came out of nowhere, and smashed Smithers in the face, disappeared back into the large assembled crowd, and ditched the coat without anyone seeing him.

It is rather dark and cloudy outside. Tonight, it rains.

So your list of suspects has not been narrowed... except perhaps by some clever reasoning done by...

For everyone's valuable information, if you vote for Askthepizzaguy, it will not count. You might as well vote Ichigo. And no, it isn't him or anyone else that's not an active player, either. That would be clever but patently unfair. I'm going to have trouble explaining who the serial killer was as it is.

Well, I can't answer that question. (Not allowed)

However, if you look at all the murders, successful and failed, you might be able to rule him out. But then again, you might not, because I am Askthepizzaguy and I like to torture townies.

So, I give you my usual ambiguous reply. Figure it out on your own, townie! :laugh2:

All in good fun, Quintus. Good effort!

The best way to ensure for a town win is either double lynch or triple lynch. Although I am able to get rid of one with my vigilante thingy.

Tally:
Fenring 1 (Elite Ferret)
Elite Ferret 1 (Fenring)

Askthepizzaguy
08-26-2008, 19:24
Hmm.... that's not very sportsmanlike.

Then you could just lynch/kill everyone but Beefy. I think that if such a thing happens, I may have to step in and say no no. That doesn't seem fair.

I'd randomly execute one of the top vote-getters through Random.org. :smash:

So, in short, I've allowed three double lynchings already. No more double or triple lynches.

It's not particularly my wish to lynch you, but there are no double lynch allowed. So what will it be? To die by my hand or to be killed by a violent mob. You have to die.

08-26-2008, 22:41
Yeah as I said before if I wasn't me and hadn't seen my PM I'd vote me, but I am me, and you have seen my PM, did it not have similar text to your townie PM, or did you not get one of those?

It's rather easy to write your own private message and put words in my mouth.

The initial role PM's are useless anyways, because you might be a turncoat, even if your original PM said town.

I'm not accusing EF, just pointing out that such evidence is inadmissible.

Quintus.JC
08-26-2008, 22:46
Yes it does make sense, but it seems everyone has prove of their innocences. And Beefy and Craterus' evidence seems to be an unshakable alibi. Its true that you and Fenring also has alibi too, but if that's the case then who the hell is the mafia?

Unvote: Elite Ferret

I'll wait and see what the others thinks.

Edit: Look, Beefy and Craterus can not be the mafia. So it has to be either EF or Fenring. We'll lynch one and I'll dispose of the other. Job done, right?

Ferret
08-26-2008, 22:55
That's what we thought last time...

But if you are the mafia then you'll have taken out two opponents, or three if you can kill twice at night and day, and then get a draw on the last day before killing the survivor that night...if YOU are the serial killer then you can win in it two days, if you're not then the town should win tonight.

Quintus.JC
08-26-2008, 23:01

"This is Kent Brockman with the Night Five Sexy Action News Report. The crowd has gathered outside the local Kwik-E-Mart to dispose of the hated Hindu menace they believe to be the mass murderer. As usual, they are carrying pitchforks, torches, and "Have a nice day" buttons."

Apu, firing shotgun at the top of the Kwik-E-Mart-
"You can all kiss my ass and burn in hell! Thank you, come again!"

Brockman-
"Apu Nahassa-passa-whatever is firing into the crowd with a deadly weapon. Perhaps this one was the mass murderer all this time. In this reporter's opinion, he was."

Apu-
"Did you ever stop to think I am defending myself from a murderous lynch mob, sir?"

Brockman-
"Mmmm.... nope. We're reporting for FOX News, it's not our job to be objective, just hold an erroneous, unwavering opinion."

Apu points the gun at Kent Brockman, but Deputy Police Chief Lou aims his sniper rifle carefully at Apu's head, and squeezes the trigger.

Apu-
"It's a good thing I believe in reincarnation..."

_____________________________________________

Monty Burns-
"Smithers, I do believe this dreadful Cold Duck is getting me a little tipsy. It's been so long since I've held a woman... it gets lonely here in this mansion."

Smithers-
"Uh.... you always have me to keep you company."

Burns-
"Yes, and don't think for one second I don't appreciate you, Smithers. I may sound a little harsh or demanding at times, but rest assured, when I die, you will inherit my entire fortune."

Smithers-
"Thats very generous of you, sir. But really, all I want is a great big hug and a kiss on the cheek once in a while."

Burns-
"Well, if I wasn't about to pass out drunk, I'd never agree to such a thing. But since it's your birthday..."

Smithers-
"It's not my bir... yes, yes it is my birthday. Hug me, sir!"

Suddenly, a window shatters and Ned Flanders arrives armed with a crossbow.

Flanders-
"Die, you godless heathen scum!!!"

Smithers-
"Nooooooooooooooo!"

A large bolt pierces Monty Burns through the chest, impaling his heart. He is thrown by the force of the bolt, and is knocked against a large medieval looking weapons rack. Several swords, axes, spears, and billhooks fall off of the wall, as well as a large sledgehammer. The sledgehammer hits the ground, and bounces like a basketball towards Ned Flanders.

Flanders-
"So, you faked an attempt on your own life... and an attempt against your heathen assistant. I was wondering how a man so feeble could even lift such a giant weapon. It was made of rubber!"

Burns-
"Of course it was, Charlie Chruchgoer! Why do you suppose he got up after being smashed in the head with a sledgehammer!"

Flanders-
"And you faked an attempt on yourself as well?"

Burns-
"I dropped a worthless, $24,000 antique vase on the floor and spent the rest of the evening drinking wine. I was amazed that silly news reporter even fell for it!"

Flanders-
"What I don't understand is why on God's green Earth you would murder the entire town one-by-one."

Smithers-
"I'll field that one... Mister Burns made a bet that someone could kill the entire town without being caught, or else he would owe me a Coke. I thought it was impossible, and I was nearly proven wrong. He didn't even tell me that he was the one who would be doing the murdering, until the very end."

Flanders-
"All this senseless killing over a can of Coca-Cola?"

Burns-
"Well, I did get to have the fun of killing the town for sport... I have a taste for hunting on safari, and the empty-headed animals in town made for perfect game."

Flanders-
"So, the Serial Killer is dead. At last, everything is revealed."

Smithers-
"Not quite..."

Smithers raises a Colt Python and splatters Flanders' brains all over the richly decorated carpeting.

Smithers-
"You killed the love of my life... Did you seriously believe I wouldn't avenge him?"

The next day, Smithers and Moleman meet to discuss what happened to the Serial Killer, and vote on the final lynching. However, Flanders never showed up.

Sarathos- lynched by Town
Motep- lynched by Town
Warmaster Horus- murdered by Serial Killer
Tratorix- lynched by Town

Quintus JC- vigilante, executed by Serial Killer
Beefy 187- survived two lynches, executed by Serial Killer

Winners:
Craterus, Fenring

___________________________________________

Roles:

Chief Wiggum- Police Investigator. Can identify the criminal. Townie.
Ned Flanders- Townie unless Lovejoy is lynched, then becomes vigilante.
Hans Moleman- Can never die by a lynching. Can only be killed by SK. Townie.
Groundskeeper Willie- 50% chance of strangling SK in self-defense. Townie.
Apu Nahassapeemapetilon- Can survive one attempt on his life. Townie.
Monty Burns- Serial Killer
Wayland Smithers- Turncoat. If Monty Burns dies, Wayland Smithers changes from Town to SK. Otherwise, aligned with Town.
Krusty the Clown- Falsely identified by Wiggum as SK, Townie.
Reverend Lovejoy- If town lyches Reverend Lovejoy, then Ned flanders becomes vigilante. Townie.
Moe the Bartender- Can make one person of his choosing drunk, thus rendering them helpless. Townie.
Professor Frink- 25% chance of blowing up SK in self-defense. Townie.
Fat Tony- Falsely identified by Chief Wiggum as the Serial Killer. Townie.

Notes: Ned Flander's role was originally Turncoat, but the moderator changed the role to vigilante to help Town. Smithers was a Turncoat from the beginning of the game. Wiggum was the Police Inspector. Moe the Bartender apparently forgot or decided not to use his special ability. When the Vigilante was created, Apu was also granted the ability to survive a vigilante killing, again to help Town.

Role PMs:

__________________________________________

You are Ned Flanders.

Your role is town. Keep that a secret. Probably wise to not let anyone know you're Ned Flanders either.

One of the two sides in this game has a higher chance of losing if they lynch/murder certain people first. So do not let anyone know your role, unless you think it will really help your team.

By the way, if a certain character gets lynched, you go insane and join the other side.

So you are town for now, but if I send you a message, you become "mafia" and you can only win if town is destroyed. Dont let anyone know that or they might lynch you, and the serial killer will deliberately avoid killing you. Telling people your role harms your own team.

It's ok to say things like "hidely-doodily" and "I don't mean to be a bossy Betty, but..."

And you can make whatever good, wholesome references to Jesus that you like. People will assume that you're either Ned Flanders or a Ned flanders impostor. Maybe they will think it's suspicious and lynch you. Play Ned however you like, but just remember you're town, and you're also a turncoat if a certain person gets lynched. I'll let you know if and when you switch sides. Dont forget I prefer to be contacted by email if you need to contact me.

_____________________________________________

Your role is Apu Nahassapeemapetilon. You are aligned with Town.

Your special trait is that you can survive one attempt on your life by the Serial Killer. Apu has been shot enough times, another time won't kill you.

You are a loyal townie and you can only win if town wins. Happy hunting!

I would question the wisdom of "revealing" your role to the town. They may decide not to lynch you, or they may decide youre trying not to get lynched. True townies do not fear a lynch.

Enjoy the game! If you need to drop out, please let me know, and if you know a substitute player, dont hesitate to let them fill in for you

______________________________________________

Your character is Reverend Lovejoy

Your alignment is town.

I can't reveal your hidden trait at this time. But you do have one. Try not to get lynched! Or you will burn in the fires of heyyy-ell.

______________________________________________

You are Groundskeeper Willie. Your alignment is town.

Your special trait is that you have a 50% chance of strangling the serial killer in self-defense. Willie is insanely powerful, always drunk, and has Lunchlady Doris to grease you up.

Nothing can outrun a greased Scotsman.

______________________________________________

Your character is Fat Tony. Your alignment is town.

Yes, you read that right.

You have a special trait, but I cannot reveal to you at this time what that is. You are a loyal townie. Try not to get lynched!

If you want, you can roleplay your character, shall we say, "in public"? After all, someone brave enough to admit they are fat tony are rarely the bad guys...

_______________________________________________

You are Moe the Bartender, your alignment is town.

Your special ability is to choose a target during the day, who you will get all liquored up. They will lose their special ability for a 24 hour period due to the intoxicating effects of the substance known as "al-key-hol", and also due to the massive hangover.

You negate other's special traits on command. This can stop a hit, but it can also prevent the police chief from doing his job, and also prevent your friends from having defensive traits.

I prefer to be contacted by email. Happy hunting!

If you do not select one active player to intoxicate every turn, during the day, they will not be drunk. Obviously.

________________________________________________

Your character is Police Chief Clancy Wiggum.

Your alignment is town.

Your special ability is to choose one person every "day" to investigate. The results will be revealed to you the following night. (You cannot use information from the investigation on that same day, as you need to wait for results from the lab)

If you blab who you are, the serial killer will destroy you. So be careful when you reveal yourself, and to whom.

Also... if you do locate the right serial killer, odds are, your work isn't over.

___________________________________________________

Your character is Krusty the Clown. Your alignment is Town.

You have a special trait, but I cannot reveal to you what that is at this time. Try not to get lynched!

Happy hunting!

____________________________________________________

Your character is Professor Frink. Your alignment is Town.

Your special trait is that if the Serial Killer tries to murder you, you have a 25% percent chance of killing him in self defense.

(Your laboratory is a very dangerous place. Fortunately, you have many, many books, and these should give you the grounding you'll need in thermodynamics, hypermathematics, and of course microcalifragilistics.)

_____________________________________________________

Your character is Hans Moleman, and you are only 31 years old. Years of alcohol and cigarretes make you appear to be ancient. Your alignment is town.

Your character has an amazing ability; you cannot die from a lynching. You keep coming back to life, just like in the television show.

However, the serial killer can and will try to murder you. Happy hunting!

PS- if you tell people that you cannot die from a lynching, they may assume you're the serial killer and try to lynch you anyway, thus wasting a town lynch and giving the serial killer an advantage.

Your main advantage is that you keep voting to lynch the serial killer until the serial killer has to waste a murder trying to eliminate you. The longer you survive, the longer you get to vote on lynching the serial killer.

The extra time you give town by not dying (and thus proven innocent) means that the rest of the town will survive an extra night while the SK kills you.

_________________________________________________

Your character is Charles Mongomery Burns. You are 81 years old.

Your alignment is Serial Killer.

Thought you'd like that. Nice twist, huh?

Your special ability is to select one townie every night whom you want eliminated. You presently do not have any allies, but you might, if you kill the right people and leave the right people alone. Town has the unwitting ability to create more serial killers.

If you are alive, and there is only one townie left, you win the game with a double homicide on the final night.

Also, there are a couple townies you don't want to kill because they can kill you back. But if you die, another takes your place, and if ANY serial killer wins, you win.

_____________________________________________________

Your character is Wayland Smithers

Your alignment is town.

Your special trait is hidden, I cannot reveal to you what that is. But it does involve Monty Burns. When the time comes, I will reveal it to you.

Good luck...

Final notes: I checked Mafiascum.net for the legality of allowing a serial killer or mafioso to waste his kill during the night phase, and instead pretend that someone attempted to kill them.

The answers were not unanimous, but roughly half of the responders agreed that in games where there are special theme games (check), or in games with role blockers (not applicable here, but check), such a thing might be allowed. and Mr. Flay said, quote: "It would fool Tracker/Watcher roles, for example. Better still if the Mafia have a Doctor on their side, or they can just "shoot blanks".

Some agreed that the idea was rare, but had been done before and was therefore not unheard of.

As the game moderator, I judged that given that:
1. There was only ever one active serial killer,
2. The serial killer's backup (turncoat) might be lynched or even accidentally murdered by the Serial Killer himself,
3. There were town roles dedicated to defending against a SK hit,
4. The presence of the Police Inspector,
5. The presence of a lynch-immune townie,
6. The presence of a one-time hit-immune townie,
7. The presence of a townie who could negate a person's role or trait "blocker role",
8. The presence of many hints to assist town,
9. The changing of Flander's role from Turncoat to Vigilante,

...Town had been given sufficient assistance to deal with the unusual nature of the serial killer, who decided to fake his own attempted death. I was certain that when a few nights had passed and he wasn't murdered again, town would get suspicious, especially when this happened on the first night. And a simple Wiggum investigation would have ended his career. But Town lynched Tratorix.

The cards were stacked in Town's favor, but a rare and controversial move by the SK gave him a believable alibi, and then Town began double-lynching themselves to death.

Out of five nights, the Burns character wasted two kills and was killed the final night. Burns only managed two kills out of 12. Smithers, the obvious assistant to Burns, was (unfortunately for town) investigated on night one and revealed to be Town. Which he was, until the final night.

You can get out your pitchforks and torches and lynch me now. I realize that some may feel that the faked assassination was unfair, however, I gave an impressive amount of hints to Town.

Here are all the hints I gave to help you along the way:

For your teeth-grinding frustration…. I mean enjoyment.

1. Not a particularly good clue, but the Simpsons were all murdered by pies to the face. Even Burns could lift a pie, rather than a serious murder weapon.

2. Not my hint, but “Just so that you won't be even more suspicious of me when I reveal later, I'm Montgomery Burns. I have a rather unconventional ability but I'll keep that secret for now.”

The unconventional ability, of course, was to be able to kill one player every night.

3. The “attempted” murder of Monty Burns. There were no witnesses to the crime, so no one saw Burns get smashed over the head with the antique vase. As for being “poisoned” with Cold Duck, I think we can all agree that’s a lame excuse for a murder (pies in the face notwithstanding). He also seemed to be quite fine, in perfect health. In fact, he was full of piss and vinegar when he told Kent Brockman to get the hell off of his property. He didn’t even call for a doctor. Additional hint: Smithers was there. He turns against the Town when and if Burns is lynched. That should let you know he’s guilty by association.

Burns should not have been ruled out, but that was the point of Fenring deciding not to kill anyone and then implying his own attempted murder. I was not even sure such a move was legal or had been done before. I, perhaps controversially, ruled that wasting a murder and not dying while thrusting oneself into the spotlight was a large gamble, and the lack of his own death could have been a clue that the “murderer” didn’t want to kill him. Giving town a mislead, but also an extra night to lynch the true murderer (one less death on town means one less night.) So, very creative idea, and I ruled it legal. Now you can lynch me.

https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showpost.php?p=1995216&postcount=56

4. Night Two murder: “The lights go out”, “looks like I forgot to pay the electric bill again”, “the lights come back on”, “Maybe just a power outage.”.

The cause of Fat Tony’s death was never really discussed. But his eyes were in a martini glass, as a sight gag.

Yes, I really did just make a bad pun. Nevertheless, Burns could not be ruled out by that murder.

https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showpost.php?p=1996767&postcount=114

5. The serial killer is not immune to lynchings. The serial killer is not alone.

https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showpost.php?p=1997198&postcount=123

6. Perhaps misleading, but I did point a finger of suspicion at “anyone who voted last”, which at the time of the post, was Fenring. It’s misleading because given the context, I was referring to whomever voted last before the lynchings. But I love wordplay and deliberately ambiguous statements.

https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showpost.php?p=1997479&postcount=131

7. Three nights after the grisly Simpson murders, our once bright and cheerful little town has devolved into total darkness.

The words “total darkness” are bolded. These are the only bolded letters in the entire lynch and murder sections.

8. Unintentional clue: The killer sounds like Burns. But I removed a bit of dialogue before I posted which would clearly implicate him, and I scrambled afterwards to point out that the way the killer talks is not supposed to be a clue. It wasn’t supposed to be.

9. Dark figure says “I’ll give you three hints”, outright telling you to look for three hints.

10. Second (intentional) hint in the night three murder post: “the lights in the bar flickered”

There was no apparent reason for these lights flickering. I am glad someone noticed this was out of place. It should be a dead give-away that the murderer has to do with electricity… the owner of the power plant. However, you have to take a big leap of faith to jump to that conclusion. And can you trust me?

11. Third (intentional) hint in the night three murder post: Moe paints a sign that says “HELP”, not “HELP!”

Afterwards, the entire bar “burns” down, and explodes to put some emphasis on this large clue.

https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showpost.php?p=1997865&postcount=153

Sorry… you have to have a demented mind like me to know these were clues, I guess. They are kind of abstract.

12. The big slap in the face:

https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showpost.php?p=1998051&postcount=164

I specifically refer to all three intentional hints in two very brief statements, indicating at the same time that I am trying to help y’all. Town was on it’s last legs at this point, and on the wrong track.

I. BOLD enough to look for clues. The word clues is bolded. A bad pun…. But points you to the lynch post clue. "Total Darkness..."

II. It’s possible they will see the light. The lights flickered. A less obvious hint, but directly referring to light and darkness.

III. All you really need is a sign. Moe’s sign reads “HELP”, not “HELP!”, and then the bar Burns down.
Abstract, but still very, very revealing.

Quintus was able to perceive subtle indications, but couldn’t nail them down. I also informed a few townies that I was deliberately pointing to the sign. Ibn and EF I believe were among them.

13. I warned town that they were getting overconfident. This ominous post should have caused panic, but it did not.

You can’t trust me, after all. Or can you?

14. Two posts later, I say that dark clouds loom in your future. Again referring abstractly to darkness, but more to the point, that Town’s votes were all dead wrong.

15. The Night Four vigilante kill:

I. Darkness looms over Kwik-E-Mart
II. Black clouds shut out light from the sun.
III. The lights in the Kwik-E-Mart flicker again.

16. Two lynchings and no murder post, night four:

I. Some are wearing official Stonecutter regalia
II. You can’t kill me, I’m a Stonecutter
III. Big deal, everyone in town is pretty much a Stonecutter.
IV. “wouldn’t that make you over seventy?” Burns once claimed to be 81 years of age, he’s possibly older.
V. Burns expresses delight that the clown is being murdered, and considers it a form of entertainment.
VI. Apu and Moleman both then rule each other out as suspects.
VII. Burns attempts to volunteer to kill Krusty. He’s quite eager, for no reason. Unless he likes killing.
VIII. It is mentioned that Burns is too weak to lift the metal axe. This gets you thinking about the weight of the murder weapons. Burns is apparently strong enough to kill everyone so far, but I deliberately throw you off with the huge sledgehammer, which turns out to be made of rubber.
IX. It is suggested that Frink dies from a Burning.
X. Frink reveals that town is pretty much screwed. This suggests you’re on the wrong track.
XI. Don’t burn Frink… his wife lights up his life. Burn… lights…
XII. Frink says, famously: “it burns, it burns, HELP ME”, Burns, Burns, HELP.
XIII. The very next thing which is said, Brockman talks about the serial killer.
XIV. Smithers is attempt murdered, but survives. Just like Burns.
XV. Smithers is apparently unfazed at all from being smashed in the face with a sledgehammer. Perhaps the sledgehammer is fake.
XVI. Burns knows that Smithers is just fine, and orders Smithers to go make him a meal. Before anyone else knows that Smithers is fine, he even suggests to Lenny that he won’t be getting any raise/promotion, suggesting that he’s certain that Smithers isn’t dead.
XVII. Brockman suggests that this potential victim was “spared”. Perhaps intentionally?

17. Just remember, “The serial killer is not…”

Ctrl-F search for “the serial killer is not” reveals the serial killer is not immune to lynchings, and the serial killer is not alone. Burns is never alone, and Smithers is the turncoat.

https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showpost.php?p=1999533&postcount=189

18. Most, if not all, questions about Burns went unanswered by the host, suggesting he could not reveal the answer. I suggest that if you went back and reviewed the murders, you might be able to rule out the murderer, then again you might not.

A very close, and controversial game. I hope you had fun and aren't too mad at me :sweatdrop:

And I hope you join The Simpsons Mafia: The Full Monty (large game). I promise that no one will be allowed to fake assassinations this time.

:smash:

PS- It was all Fenring's idea. :laugh2:

Please everyone read the hints section, so you know I wasn't deliberately trying to throw Town under a bus...

I'd appreciate some after-murder discussion. What are your thoughts on the game?

Definitely one of the most memerable game I've played (not that I played many), it was great fun. And no, I don't blame you for losing at all. You've given us plenty clues, unfortunatly none of us was Sherlock Holmes. I was wondering after Craterus' innocence after you intentionaly emphaised so many times that someone's alligance might change. I never got the clues about Burns, the fake assasination wasn't that bad, we was dumb enough not to figure out that could be made to paint someone innocent (In the Soviet Mafia, which was hosted by Fenring. When I was the Mafia I intentionally missed my assassination attemp on Pevergreen in order to make him look suspicious, Faction Heir noticed it back then, so I guess that was okay). Anyway it was a great game, I don't mind the missed assasination, but we shouldn't allow too much double lynch next time (I am to blame, i know :sweatdrop:)

Thanks for Hosting Askthepizzaguy.

Good game, thanks for hosting ATPG.

To be fair, I didn't know I was a turncoat until the last minute. And at that point, my kill choice was obvious.

Flanders has a question:

Dont forget I prefer to be contacted by email if you need to contact me.

and the serial killer will deliberately avoid killing you. Why? I don't see any specific connection between Flanders and Burns.

You were originally intended to join the Serial Killer when Lovejoy died. But I saw Town was in serious trouble, and I used my magical moderator skills to turn you into a Vigilante instead to help them out.

That is why he would have avoided killing you if he found out your role.

I still don't understand any of the clues in the Moe murder, none of them point to Burns for me...

Thanks for hosting anyway. :2thumbsup:

Cheers ATPG. Good hosting (sorry for disappearing on you guys) - and I LIKE the clues in the killing posts. The fact that we did not get them is actually a good thing as well. If they are too obvious then it is game over too quick and if it is perfect it will throw slight suspicion on a player.

Good job - pity I wasn't as clever as my Character...

Oh right, I definitely wouldn't be jabbering as much as I did if I didn't know that. I forgot to say how good the write up was, absolutly brilliant, thouroughly enjoyable. :beam:

You dont necessarily need to play your character, but if you did, you could always just talk with a Scottish accent.

:scotland:

I hope everyone joins the next game. I'm in the queue... and we need players. Aiming for 50, hoping for 80.

This will be an epic game.

Hello. Smithers. You're. Quite. Good at. Turning. Me. On.

Uhhhh you should probably ignore that.
