"So Mr. Dever, what are we gonna do about this Scarface guy? I mean, he's getting lockdown on the whole city! You really gonna take him on?" Lieutenant Jefferson's concerned face queried the new Mayor.

"Scarface? He's just one of a number of flies to be swatted. I'm gonna clean up this whole town. Force him and the rest of his kind out of Chicago. Period. I'm going to mobilize the police into full force. I'm going to call in the FBI to root out their corrupt and illegal businesses. They're going to regret the day they stepped foot into this town. It won't be easy Jefferson. There will be probably be losses. Maybe even me. But I swear this before God Himself: Scarface, Bugs, the whole lot of them will be locked up or dead when I'm finished with my job. Jefferson looked on in awe before the new mayor; nobody, ever, had made a serious effort to stand up to the mob. Didn't matter that everyone knew they existed. Didn't matter that everyone knew what they were up to. They were that feared.

The next morning...

Jefferson stood at the door of a used furniture shop on the south side of Chicago. He rapped the door twice, before the door was opened. A tall, dark man dressed in a casual suit peered behind a pair of glasses at Jefferson for a second, before motioning for him to come in. Jefferson took the cue. The man led Jefferson through the oddly vacant shop to a back door which was labeled "supplies". The man knocked twice on the door before speaking.

"Hey boss. Got your buddy here."

A voice from behind sounded in a noticeable Italian accent, "Well it’s about time. Come in." The door clicked from inside as it was unlocked. The tall man leaned his shoulder against the door, twisted the knob, and opened the door, leading Jefferson inside.

The room inside immediately pronounced its presence with the pungent smell of cigar smoke. Inside, sat a well-dressed, olive-skinned, baby faced man behind a desk, cigar in hand. Four more men, each as imposing as the man who led Jefferson inside, stood astride the olive-skinned man, two on each side. The only source of light for the room was a single, small lamp which stood upon the desk, though little of the light could actually pierce far through the dense fog of smoke.

"So Mr. Jefferson, I trust you've got word for me on the new guy?" the baby faced man queried with a nonplussed look upon his face. "I trust things won't have to get ugly?"

Jefferson responded with a growing nervousness about his person. "Well, uh, sir, actually, um, well he, Dever, wants to take you out. You and Bugs and the rest of the mob. He says he's, he's gonna call in the FBI, and police..."

A displeased facade overcame Mr. Capone's face. "What, you think this is really a threat? You think Dever will actually back up his bark? You think he's more powerful than me? Huh!?"

"Uh... uh... of course I d-don't think he's more powerful than you! I'm just s-saying, you might wanna get outta town for a little bit to let him cool down... I mean, no reason to take unnecessary risks, r-r-right boss?"

Mr. Capone's face re-arranged itself once more, but this time into thoughtfulness rather than rage or contempt, much to Jefferson's relief.

"Actually, Jefferson, I think you might have a point. We can get out of Chicago for a little while... Set up a new base. Outside of city limits, but close enough to keep tabs on things here. Nice little town of Cicero is just out of city limits, and they got a mayoral election next year." A smirk overcame Capone's face. "Ya know what, Jefferson, you keep up this kinda smart thinkin' and you might get a promotion sometime. Ya, I like this. Cicero can be our new base of operations, it’s perfect. Good job, Jefferson. Now get outta here, I got plannin' to do." Relief flooded Jefferson's face as he was ushered out the door.

Two weeks later, in the town of Cicero, Illinois...

A young man in casual attire stumbled into the police station, out of breath and visibly shaken.

"Mr. Vonken, Mr. Vonken!" Police chief Vonken scrambled from his desk to the young man. "Mr. Vonken, I just saw a murder. T-t-two guys, they just broke into the Hamilton's and I heard gunshots...and and.... uh... they're DEAD!" The young man began sobbing in Chief Vonken's arms.

"Hey, hey, c'mon. Its gonna be alright, we'll get the men. Did you see them? What'd they look like? What were they wearing? The young man ceased sobbing, but his chest was still heaving and his face still wet with tears.

"I c-couldn't really tell what they looked like... they wore pretty nice suits... and they were wearing a fedora. I don't think they were from around here. I bet if I saw them alongside everyone else in town I could pick them out though..."

"Alongside everyone else in town..." Chief Vonken thought to himself. Then it hit him. That was it! "Alright kid, do this for me. I need you to run around to every person in town's house and tell them to be at the station at nine tonight, alright? Tell them they're in big trouble with me if they don't. If they aren't there, leave a note.

That Night...

A large crowd stood gathered around the entrance to the police station. A quiet roar of murmuring emanated from the populace, whom had all heard of the murdered Hamilton family by now. Finally, as the stroke of nine, Chief Vonken emerged from the doors of the station, and took his place atop a small carriage to use as a platform.

"EVERYONE QUIET DOWN!" Chief Vonken's voice boomed over the murmuring crowd. "As you have probably all heard by now, the Hamilton's were murdered in their house, in cold blood. What we know now is that the people who killed them probably aren't from around these parts. We don't know if they're here to pick a fight with Cicero, or if they're a passing occurrence. Regardless, you have my assurance the police are looking into it. But if the murders keep occurring, we need to look amongst ourselves to figure out who's hiding in our midst. Tomorrow, at Six o'clock in the evening, if the murders continue, I'm going to start a town lynching. It’s the only way to stamp out some newcoming murderer! I know you good townspeople will be able to pick out the murderers hiding in our midst. But let us remember, this is America! We are democratic! Hence, I want a vote on whom the town thinks is a killer, and I will execute the bastard myself! But let us hope we need not resort to this and that the murders stop tonight. But if not, come ready tomorrow!"

With that, Chief Vonken stepped down from the carriage, and back into the station without even a single more word, presumably to comb over more evidence from the Hamilton murder. The crowd erupted into murmur, though two faces stayed silent, giving the other a curt, but knowing look. The crowd, very gradually, dispersed themselves to their homes, with vigilance on their minds...

Welcome one, Welcome all! This is going to be a wholly different take on mafia from yours truly. This will be a straight up, pure, GH-style mafia game.

Roles:

Two mafioso
One detective(?)

Rules:

Players must remain active. Inactivity, which will be defined as missing three consecutive voting rounds, or four total voting rounds, will result in the WoK(Wrath of Khaan).(Yes, I'm that egotistical~;p) WoK equals expulsion from the game.

You may not utilize screenshots or chatlogs. You MAY quote PM if you wish. Quicktopic for the purposes of the town is banned from this game, though mafia may use it to their heart's desire.

You may only commit suicide if you are absolutely unable to continue participation. I do not allow suicides for any other reason.

Private reveals are forbidden. Only public reveals are allowed.

The dead may not reveal anything, quote PM's or do anything out of thread.

PLEASE KEEP A RUNNING TALLY OF VOTES.

And Lastly, DO NOT MESS WITH THE TALLY! If I determine ANYONE is intentionally messing with the tally, they will receive extremely harsh punishment. I tend to allow for mistakes, particularly if people aren't keeping tally, but be wary and vigelant regarding tally.

Game procedure:

The game starts with a night phase. Here, the power roles send me their actions. This means two people will die before they even get the chance to cast one vote. Sorry, but it works better for the story that way. After that, it's day, where the alive townies can vote and try to lynch the mafia. Voting procedure is the usual, i.e.:

Vote: seireikhaan

If you wish to unvote, then do so as follows:

Unvote: seireikhaan
Vote: TosaInu

Unvoting without saying who exactly is being unvoted (i.e. Unvote) is highly discouraged and if it ticks me off enough I might start handing out WoKs.

Voting abstain (you are present for the round and have no lynch preference) is allowed, but "No Lynch" is not.

I'm looking for at least 30 players, but I would love to have 40 if possible. Please get word out and recruit!

Hooahguy is new, so he told me, so anyone who would like to get him acclimated to mafia games, please do so. If not, I'll point him in the direction of some basic info:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mafia_(game)

In the original poster's first post, (otherwise known as the original post :wall:) it will describe the particulars of this specific game, which has a story and a plot but a basic structure (apparently) of mafia and townies, maybe a detective but honestly, probably not.

The first night phase is starting, role PM's are going out.

Everyone will receive a PM. Here is the townie PM:

Greetings,

You are a citizen of the town of Cicero, Illinois. Your town has come under threat from two killers. Though you know not who they are nor where they come from, you know that the threat they pose must be dealt with. Your lone weapon is the use of lynch- each day phase, you may vote for whom you believe to be the killers disguised as townspeople.

If you have any questions whatsoever, feel free to ask.The night phase will end in 24 hours.

All right, so it looks like I'm not getting that much respect so far in the HoF nominations. That's perfectly fine; I didn't do that much this year anyway and there are plenty of other deserving people. However, no nominations tells me something.

So, my new resolution for 2009 is to take this place by storm. Starting with this game, I am going to be a force of nature in every game I play. I will go all-out and take my enemies down, and I will become the most feared player and host, whether I am mafia or town. Consider this your only warning so you know exactly what happened when the hurricane hit and rocked your collective faces.

3. Voting for GH in any of the category will reduce the chance of GH storm by 15 percent per annum.

The summer night hung over the town of Cicero, Illinois like a haunting specter. Dark clouds abounded tonight, meaning little natural light was gleaming upon the townspeople. CountArach, however, was undaunted neither by the clouds nor by the imminent threat that seemed to be posed to the town. As per his custom, he rocked slowly on his porch, a cigar slowly working its way through his system through the night as he savored every bit. So content with his cigar was CA that he failed to notice an oddly formally dressed man approaching his porch.
“Good Sir,” the man asked CA. “I don’t suppose you could offer me a cigar for the night? I seem to have run my supply dry, so to speak.”
“What’s that now? Y’all want my cigars?” CA queried the man. The wheels slowly clanked in CA’s head, when it struck him. This was one of the killers! Here to steal his precious Cubans! CA scrambled up from his rocking chair, looking to get back inside to snatch his weapon. As he reached the door, a loud BAM! Was heard echoing through the mostly silent neighborhood. CA dropped to the floor of the porch, his hand slipping from the doorknob, just out of his reach. The man quickly stepped up to CA, looking down at the quickly dying man.
“We thank you for your generous donation to our cause, good Sir.” The man bowed to CA, grabbed the box of cigars, and stashed the sawed off shotgun back the wing of his suit. With a hop to his step, the man took off into the dark night…

Tiberius of the Drake, much like his now deceased counterpart across town, decided Chief Vonken’s warning to be off only modest concern. He was still playing tag with his two precious daughters in the front yard, when a sleek, black model T drove up to the modest sidewalk which predominated Tiberius’ front yard. Curious, Tiberius stood up at attention to the new guest. He could visibly see a figure in a rather large trench coat and Fedora in the passenger side of the vehicle. With a quick snap, the figure pulled from out of view a sub machine gun and clicked the ammo in place. Eyes widening in panic, Tiberius shouted to his daughters “GET DOWN!” Just as the words escaped his mouth, a different sound, a distinct metallic rattling escaped from the weapon. Tiberius was still in plain view of the gunner, standing no chance against the barrage of bullets. As he collapsed to the ground, Tiberius vaguely was aware of the sound of a vehicle driving away, and the teary-eyed cries of two young girls….

The Next morning…

Police Chief Vonken stood once more upon the carriage, his voice booming over the mass of now highly scared townspeople. “Last night, Tiberius of the Drake and CountArach were murdered in cold blood! We must catch the culprits NOW! I assure you, the station is doing their best to solve this horrible killing spree, but until then, the town must take action NOW!

Oh ok Lord Winter.. Is that how it is?

Lynching the fellow with the name starting with the number 1? Is that how it is? Huh? Huh?? :furious3:

This world is not fair. It just aint fair!! We can't discriminate people just because their name starts with numbers!! Just because if you line the sign up list, alphabetically I become first!

Whats wrong with numbers? Numbers are great! With out numbers you can't go shopping and think how much money you'll be needing. Just imagine your local shop which doesn't use numbers.

Instead of "Cabbage 70 c" you'll see "Cabbage seventy cents."
Then at the end of the shopping this is how it would be

Cabbage is seventy cents
Kit kat is one dollar
Beef steak is seven dollars and fifty cents
Milk is one dollar and thirty cents
Box of icecream would be six dollars sixty

And thats just me buying it. Imagine on a cold Thursday afternoon. Imagine all the ladies rally in the shopping market to buy the weekend worth of stash. Imagine the money fellas attempting to figure out how much money they should be receiving, counting with fingers instead of those funky machines.

Then after ten minutes of calculation.

"Its sixty five dollars and twenty cents madam"

"Okee doke"

And the "madam" pulls out the notes. Which says

"Fifty dollars" with out the numbers. Serial key? You aint getting those in numbers. You'll just get a alphabetical password on each notes. And some are soo much longer then others as we use alot and alot of notes.

Credit card? Yea how would you identify that the credit card is the credit card that the bank published? Again you'll get a stacks of alphabetical combination which goes on and on and on.. Then after the shop fella finally turns to "page three thousand six hundred and eighteen" and finds your alphabetical combination, you realize the que behind you have tripled and quad rippled since you came to the front of the que.

Then alas the cute looking gal... the casher girl asks you in her sweet voice.

"Password please"

you then go onwards to type your password you had to spend countless hours to come up with as most of the passwords are already taken.

"Beefy one eight seven"

"Sir. That password doesn't seem to match yours."

"Oh wait. Its Beefy oen eihgt seevn"

"Thank you sir. Have a nice day"

Yea right. Have a nice day huh? After lining up for three cranking hours on that humangously long waiting que?

You get home and you see your kids.

"Hey son hows it going?"

"Good daddy!! Hey daddy can we play cards?"

You open the packet and you get your brains cells to work at max speed again.

"I play the seven of diamond."

"Be quiet dad. You don't have to say what the card is in this game."

"Oh ok... I play a double.."

"Dad. Your cheating! You played the six of spade and nine of clubs!!"

"Oh sorry.. They all look the same."

"Just read the letters dad! Its not that hard!!"

You turn on the jolly good TV show "time travel.. See what the world was like in the past"

"Numbers are gay. Math is gay. I think the government should ban numbers.. and anything which got something to do with numbers."

Some idiotic student... Why did he say that..

"So upon hearing this, our government have officially decided to ban numbers!!"

"Yay"

Umm boo?

You switch the channel and see Kiefer Sutherland, running around with guns.

No it would not prevent a lynch. I do not know what happens in case of a tie though.:huh2:

Nothing - Vote:Abstain does not effectively tie with anything, since it's only a vote to announce lack of suspicion, but not inactivity. I am sure someone can answer the question more thoroughly, like GH.

TinCow
01-13-2009, 22:36
Usually a tie will result in a random execution of one of those who is tied. While the rules for this particular game don't state that, I'm pretty sure that's how it will go down. If you are one of the people who is tied and you do not want to take your chances with a random die roll, you would probably want to change your vote before the day is over.

GeneralHankerchief
01-13-2009, 23:03
Well, as this is not my game, this is pure speculation, but khaan did say this was based off my games. As such, I'm expecting an additional round with the three people who got the most votes being the only eligible options.

taka
01-14-2009, 00:25
doesnt abstain mean that the person has no preference in who to lynch? so the one who has the highest is still lynched? (ie abstain doesnt actually do anything apart from telling host you're still in the game)

in the case of tie, i dunno.

as with the chaotix theory, we'll see what happens next round

seireikhaan
01-14-2009, 00:26
It appears we have a tie. First person to break the tie(either through voting or unvoting) will result in an automatic lynch. However, you may still vote for other players if you wish.

Chief Vonken was quite puzzled as the discussion went along throughout the day. The townspeople discussed quite a bit, but they didn't really get any consensus going. But perhaps the most surprising was that everyone kept quite calm and collected during the ordeal. Vonken's biggest fear in organizing a lynch was that the town would descend into uncontrollable madness. In the end, the town came to three candidates in particular; Boudica, Yoyoma, and Chaotix. The three were thrust at Vonken.

"Now what?" the town asked in chorus. "We can't decide!"

"We'll just kill one of them!" Chief Vonken announced. "Now, whoever breaks the tie will will cause that person to be lyn-"

"Chaotix!" Andres shouted out, clearly displaying his cunning by anticipating the rest of the speech.

"Erm... very well." Chief Vonken announced. Chaotix was shoved forward ahead of Boudica and Yoyoma to the crowd. Chief Vonken pulled a pistol out and readied it. "Chaotix, the town has sentenced you to death. Final words?" Chaotix was too stunned to reply. "Very well." With a single shot to the skull, Chaotix fell to the ground in a heap. "Well, people, let us hope we have caught a killer! Now, good night, and remain vigelant just in case!"

GeneralHankerchief
01-14-2009, 17:46
Stop dodging and think like the mafia, Andres. Right now you look like lynchbait. In that case, the mafia won't touch you with a 40-foot pole this night because, hey, you're an easy lynch. I'd bet money (and I'm a college student, so it doesn't come easy) on you surviving the night.

In any case, let's not get this buried: The fact that you're trying to invent reasons for being paranoid.

Andres
01-14-2009, 17:49
So, if you would be in a town with less then 30 inhabitants and two madmen running around at night, carrying guns and randomly picking targets to kill, you would not be paranoid?

Paranoia is inherent in mafia games.

So, if you would be in a town with less then 30 inhabitants and two madmen running around at night, carrying guns and randomly picking targets to kill, you would not be paranoid?

Not if I was just attacking TinCow for supposedly trying to manufacture a giant bandwagon on me. It's Mafia 101 to leave the lynchbait alive.

I thought it inherently obvious that TinCow was trying to defend you from a bandwagon. Instead, you attack him with shoddy reasoning for subtly trying to start one on you. Then, as I point this out, you try to deflect the conversation to you wondering if you're going to survive the night.

I did not wonder if I would survive the night, I merely gave a ridiculous reason for me being paranoid, which was a nonsensic accusation.

None of my actions justify the accusation of me being paranoid.

And TC did not defend me, he asked a rhetorical question. That's not a defense.

Using the index and teh pinky. Human is barely able to point at four separate direction.

Theoretically speaking. He is possible to point at ten, and if you consider the toes, twenty. But soon as they enter that stage of pointing twenty different direction, it will be impossible to identify for whom each fingers is pointing.

So for the ease of identifying who Andres is pointing at, we should make a circle around him, so he can only point at two, maximum four.

Sorry for the delay folks...

Following the death of Chaotix, a very nervous town dispersed rather quickly this night, as the reality of their imminent danger crept into their minds. Reaction to fear can vary wildly from person to person. Some took to mindless activities to distract themselves, some took to curling into a fetal position, and others simply sat in a chair in a zombie like state. Yoyoma, however, did not fit into any of the above categories. He took to drink. In particular, Yoyoma favored strong, Louisiana bourbon. Following the lynch, he immediately darted home, cracked open a crate of his absolute favorite, and began a furious game of “drink the liquor” with himself. Drink after drink, Yoyoma’s grasp on reality slowly slid beyond his grasp. At the stroke of midnight, the front door to Yoyoma’s house burst open. A tall figure in a trench coat and fedora stepped through the frame. Yoyoma looked up belligerently from his chair, though he stayed slumped over. The figure merely sighed at the rather pathetic sight, before pulling a pistol from the trench coat. With a single click, the pistol loaded. A single shot fired out into the dead of night, scoring a direct hit straight through Yoyoma’s forehead. Without hesitation, the trench-coat clad figure fled the room, leaving the inebriated corpse behind.

Much like his alcoholic comrade, YLC also deviated from the aforementioned ways of coping with fear. However, rather than drinking himself into a stupor, YLC instead retreated to a different favored pastime: baking. Yes, YLC was a rather splendid baker, often supplementing his income at the factory with regular bake sales. Tonight, YLC was creating a splendid soufflé. The wonderful smell wafted through the house and into the street. As he was pulling it from the oven, the creation finally done, the door knob to his front door began jiggling. YLC immediately ran to the door, figuring one of his amiable neighbors once again caught the smell of his extra-curricular activities. However, as he opened the door, a tall, strange man stood in the doorway. In his mouth, a cigar, while in his hands, what appeared to be an oversized blow-torch. A belch of fire escaped from the weapon, singing the front of YLC’s apron as he stumbled backwards. YLC scrambled back to the staircase to the upstairs. The man, however, went straight into the kitchen. YLC’s eyes went wide open.
“My soufflé!” He yelped. He attempted to leap the stairs back down, but it was too late; the man lit the soufflé aflame, charring it beyond recognition. “You… MONSTER!” the man merely turned, held the flamethrower up once more, as YLC charged him in rage. A spectacular burst of fire spread in front of the man, engulfing YLC completely. YLC collapsed, rolling in terrible pain. The man merely skipped over the burning floor and man, looking quite bored with the whole situation. Taking a remarkably casual stroll out the door, the man picked up the pace as a black Model T car pulled up the curb. The man hopped into the passenger side, not even bothering to look back at the spectacular fireball which used to be YLC’s house.

But perhaps saddest of all was the way in which Hooahguy reacted to fear. Upon returning home, he grabbed a rope, creating a noose, and headed back to his shed. Tossing the rope over a beam, he hopped up onto a foot stool. Tying the noose over his neck, Hooaghuy jumped from the stool, at least fortunate that the rope snapped his neck instantly…

I didn't say you had to vote me. I asked if there were better suspects. I guess not.

Let me ask you another question: do you have other suspects, besides me?

It would be a waste of a round if we would limit ourselves to just lynching me without much of an explanation, wouldn't it?

Might as well take the opportunity to discuss other players as well.

Well, at a certain stage, once the crazy stuff has drawn enough attention, you can pick on statements made by other players who respond to the craziness/fooling around/nonsense.

A little suspicion here, an annoying remark there, some pressure here, to provoke reaction which is material that can be analysed later on.

Allthough, at the moment it doesn't seem to work, since there's only about half of the living players really interacting.

On the one hand, what you say makes sense. I hate to vote for people who make sense and seem reasonable. On the other hand, could you be nervous about being lynched, and simply want any excuse for us to be more serious and come up with more reasonable votes?

That's the funny thing about unreasonable votes. A random bandwagon could turn into a mafia pleading for his life.

Or a townie

Who is to say I don't change my vote later? But the sudden reversion to seriousness once the pressure got on you makes me wonder if you are a viable lynch after all. Vote stays on you for now.

Where exactly have I been pleading for my life?

I would only find it a waste if we would limit ourselves to voting and lynching me. That's just laziness.

Even if you're 100 % sure that I'm mafia, then still it makes sense to continue discussion, since we're looking for 2 mafiosi, not just one.

OK, I'm back, and ready to attempt to make some sort of headway against this mass of craziness.

From what I can tell, and I'm too tired to go back and find actual quotes here (I've been at work for 10-11 hours), this andres bandwagon has grown out of a disagreement between Andres and Tincow, who in turn was backed by GH. Now this stems from a rhetorical question Tincow asked
Is a bandwagon on Andres likely tomorrow? Now personally I believe that Tincow was justified in asking the question, and furthermore I believe, although Tincow would have to back me up, that originally intended this to point out how ludricrous a bandwagon on Andres would be at this stage.

Then Andres reacted to this in a way suggestive that he believed Tincow was going to begin a bandwagon on him. This may not have been Tincow's intention, but thanks to GH, a semi-bandwagon has indeed began on Andres.

It is my personal belief, although my senses need rehoning after my break (and they were never that good anyway, :laugh4:), that Andres is almost too obvious a candidate, and by allowing ourselves to target him, we are letting mafiosi hide within the easy shadows of a bandwagon. I applaud ATPG in offering himself as a candidate in order to to provoke discussion, and second Andres' proposal to look at other possible mafiosi candidates, few as there may be at this current time.

I feel that you seem to be a little quick to accuse, first Andres, now ATPG... careless mafioso perhaps?

Above post passes my sniff test. Attempting desperately to find anything even remotely odd about it.

I could say it almost smells too rosy, but the claim that someone is acting "too townie" is an absurd notion and a logical fallacy. Is there an opposite of the Finger of Suspicion? I'll have to invent one.

Fair enough, Taka, but he may not be online at the moment. If we keep him near the top, we need room to change our minds, if we want him to respond to things. Otherwise, we lynch him without a response.

Other suspects?

I wasn't here for much of the beginning. What was the reason that people chose GeneralHankerchief as their choice? Any real reasons to vote Andres? Or me, for that matter?

I'm watching our non-contributing townies very carefully, hoping they either step forward and be scrutinized or die dishonourably as WOG bait.

Being at least 3 votes away from being lynched is a safe position for a mafia. A situation one would be eager to bring about. And we do need more suspects, now don't we?

Being a follower, cooperative, less talkative, and far away from the lynch is "safe haven" for any mafia.

for me my other two suspects are andres and reenk, since they were the only two that changed their votes in the last vote (in the tie)

however andres changed his vote for a lynch whereas reenk changed his vote to make a 4 way tie

reenk's reason was for GH's storm comment, and andres' was "Out of respect for an outstanding player"

It is not in the town interests to substitute one bandwagon for another. Especially without giving the man a chance to defend himself. I find Taka somewhat suspicious, but as he is a newbie I think it is more down to a lack of understanding at this stage...

I find ATPG's constant reference to his own 'Wine In Front Of Him' as well as the voting and unvoting for himself pretty suspicious (if this was a poker hand I'd HAVE to call him), but his motivation seems at least to be to provoke discussion. The other reason I won't vote for him, this round at least, is that I'm fairly sure any response he made would leave me even dizzier :laugh4:

I'm still digesting the reasoning put forward for the other votes so far and do not wish to vote random lurker yet, so I vote: abstain for now, until more have spoken up - coz at this rate we're facing a Wrath of Khaan that could reach biblical proportions

Askthepizzaguy

That's fairly sweet of you, but I'm afraid you will have to contribute more to the discussion to escape my vote. You gave a very reasonable excuse for lying low, and from what I've seen, you're a very cunning mafia player already.

I will give you time to make up your mind before I hastily vote you. But unless people give a solid excuse for not voting, I will chalk it up to mafia avoiding the Wrath of Khaan.

I'm not buying the Andres and GH arguments at this point. I've only seen a mafio-Andres once (Capo II), but in that game he was cool as a cucumber, just like every time he's a townie. While he has been a bit defensive and paranoid so far in this game, such behavior does not fit any pattern I Know for Andres. Thus, until I see more evidence, I'll chalk it up to non-Mafia-related reasons. As for GH, no remotely decent case has been made against him whatsoever. RR and Andres are both voting for him for relatively vindictive reasons, namely that he has previously stated that he wants to put more effort into future games.

Taka's behavior does ting a few mafo-detection bells, but I don't have much experience with him personally in games and wouldn't know his normal play-style. For this reason I will not vote for him, but I also don't disagree with the pressure on him.

ATPG is extraordinarily scumtastic, but then again if he really is a townie in Ephesus, that would appear to be his baseline. At the current rate, he's bound to get himself stretched eventually, so I don't see any urgency in voting for him.

However, having now written and deleted my explanation as to why I was going to vote for two other people (first Sigurd, then Ares), I'm thinking ATPG may be the best way to go. Sigurd was twinking me because he's a silent veteran, but thinking back I vaguely recall that this is normal for him when he's townie and he's more vocal when mafia. Ares' silence also bugged me, but I checked the time of his posts and he may just not have gotten online today. This leaves me back at my previous position, in which ATPG is scumtastic and I don't see anyone better.

Vote: ATPG

Throwing his weight around like crazy. Changing votes constantly. Accusing pretty much everyone in the game, including himself. Does it get more scummy than that?
