Adding ethnicity traits

Hi,

is it possible to add ethnicity traits for an ongoing campaign, like Syrios and Armenios? So that new FMs can be of a new ethnicity and not only of one of the old ones?

At first I would take existing ones and just copy and paste them over to Makedonia, but I'm a bit anxious... the campaign date is 177BC currently.

Adding new traits is not save-game compatible.
It might be possible to edit some traits from other factions, but that might not be compatible or could cause some weirdness.

Adding existing ethnicities from other factions should be okay. You may want to tweak the chances of each other ethnicity when you add, by the way.

Mind that in order for the ethnicity to actually have an effect on his traits, you should copy the triggers that are using the ethnicity trait too.

Uff, I finally got around to dig into it. It takes always that long with me. :sweatdrop:

I have opened export_descr_character_traits.txt and found these. So when I want to add the ethnicity "Asiatikos" to my Makedones, I have to look at this section I think?

Am I right when I assume that the first two paragraphs are relevant to shift the ethnicity to Makedonia (marked red), and that the number (marked blue) determines the probability?

What's the meaning of the "EthnoDetermined"-tag?

I wouldn't try it, weird stuff would probably happen, since you're taking away a trait from a guy that is still alive. Weeeeird stuff.

Thanks for the clarification. I think I'll better stick with the extinct factions' ethnicities.
