Introduction

In the small village of Neverwinter a bustling trade community had flourished. Fishmongers and pelt traders, soothsayers and hybrid makers, poets and arms dealers, merchants and book yielders. All of these people had their own little lives, their own little stories, their own little way of getting by. The Towns guard would chant Lord Neverwinter's name and sing a song or two, all races could mix and delight in each other’s company and together they could help each other out. But that was soon to change when the paranoid came over the town...

It all began when just a year from now a cloud was sighted in the sky, it was shaped like a jokers hat, coloured crimson lying sleepy and low by Neverwinter Castle. After several months as it continued to cascade down on the Castle itself rumour has spread like venom, ‘It must be a sign for things to come’ ‘it’s red, does that mean the devil has arrived at our steps?’ ‘We’ve all displeased the Gods, now we will pay’

Despite the mad rumour the citizens had convinced themselves was true, it made its way to Lord Neverwinter. It was on the very morning message had got to him that the cloud exploded, disappeared, nothing was left. Soon the Town forgot all about the nonsense they had believe not so long ago and shrugged the incidence off. It was then that mortality rates rocketed, for a small town, deaths had reached double figures daily, with the common symptoms being laughter, any who laughed choked on their own pleasure and the town struggled to relate this incidence to the cloud at all.

Citizens were barred from going in and out Neverwinter eventually, to stop the curse spreading, laughing in neverwinter equated to dying in neverwinter. Yet when 15 adventurers were sighted leaving the town, a large hunt to track them down commenced going against there word hypocritically. They all left at different times when security were slacking or busy chanting to Lord Neverwinter, and there disappearance was noted by citizens in town, all different in nature.

Little is known about these adventurers, but it is thought that some of them may be the cause of the ‘lack of’ laughter epidemic, and perhaps some, the majority at least were looking for a way to quell it...

There will be options to take, PM me in the day phase the location you are to be in (you must keep it secret) the locations in the Neverwinter wildnerness are:

Abandoned House
wilderness
Swamp

Choosing a certain location may endanger you or keep you safe without even knowing it, if i don't recieve a pm in the day the defalut location is the wilderness.

Lynching:

Usable once by every player
Lynching claims can be made on thread, however i will allow people to PM me in the day phase once and change there claimed on thread vote, meaning while it looks like someone may be lynched on thread, the outcome could be completely different, meaning lynching is almost as uncertain as murders are. With this being usable once it could create up to 15 false votes....

Tired? Want some place to sleep while adventuring? In the night phase if you want to hire a room PM me with one of the following:

Standard room - 10 gold

Luxury room - 30 gold

The effects of hiring a room are unknown :mellow:

Each player earns 10 gold each day phase, it is up to them whether they use it to hire a room or not.

All other normal mafia rules apply
No PM quoting at all, outside of game chat is allowed but no role revealing! no screenies or anything that could influence the game out side of the thread.

Also while you'll get a final lynch tally there isn't any way to know if someone in-particular changed there vote, i would assume townies would use this one off ability near the start and mafias near the end typically.

Neverwinter is a City not a town and its leader should be Haluth Never or Lord Nasher depending on the time period.... although another leader is possible; but in no way should his name be "Lord Neverwinter". Anyway, in the new canon Neverwinter is destroyed, so I wonder what time period this is set in...

Yeah I LOVED the court Part in the second one....I always got guilty:saint: and yeah....it is a bit sad that the woman "sandra" I think....dies....no matter what....and I whooped her Grandfather three times over:wall::wall:

Well a few years back I played Dungeons and Dragons Online: Stormreach. My characters always had the last name Elwood, and Khadgar was the funniest guy I grouped with. For a friends assignment he had to make a website about a fictional company. I was security, he claimed I was short (which I am) but that I had 12 levels in rogue and 8 in blackguard. Which would be true as well. And Lawful Evil is my alignment. :grin2:

I'm active because this is my first game and due to the school holidays I dont realy have much to do. And, well, "Jokers curse" doesnt exactly sound too deadly. I think Ares got the inspiration from this lovely gent (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joker_(comics)) who wasnt known for killing people outright often, just leaving people in a cureable vegative state.

Edit- I just realised that im talking about and making assumptions on the game with "The batman" tv series Joker not the comic book version who's version of the joker poison was terminal. :oops:

I've done a bit of thinking about this secret vote changing and I can't think of a single reason that a townie would want to use it beyond being saved from retribution... but even then why are they scared of retribution? Besides, I believe that it does 'clear' some townies, or at least severely decreases the odds of them being guilty. Let me explain...

To take our current situation of:
White Eyes 3 (White Eyes, Sigurd, FactionHeir)
FactionHeir 3 (Captain Blackadder, shlin28, Warman)

Suppose that this is how it remains at the lynch deadline, but we find out that FactionHeir is lynched, doesn't that mean that Captain Blackadder, shlin and Warman can only be one of the two mafia members? Point is we don't know how Ares designed the game and we can't take chances with not lynching him and then finding out that a vigilante kill actually strengthens him instead (or as well).
Roles usually run out of lives eventually. So focussing fire will work. He already declared himself as mafia anyway.

Day 1

The Adventurers had left Neverwinter earlier that day; many knew staying in a confined city would drive them to madness as the laughter epidemic grew too dangerous. While they were off in their travels one peculiar adventurer returned to Neverwinter, FactionHeir and CountArch questioned him instantaneously but nothing other than drivel came from his mouth.

The towns procedure was simple, and the contamination while in or outside of Neverwinter was enough for the Man to lose his life, and to lose it in an extravagant fashion.

Firstly his body was thrown down in Neverwinter castle dungeons where a mechanical masher was brought up, with a pool of lava beside to destroy the contamination. Reenk smashed on the poor man’s body repeatedly grinding his torso into paste and dismembering his legs on contact. What the executioner was more disturbed by was the more pain inflicted on the man, the more he laughed, soon his laugh went into hysterics, the whole city could hear the sound and soon it became infectious, soon all citizens were laughing and subsequently, choking. The town was a picture of magical disaster as all lay dead only a few second since the beginning of the incidence, and deep below the city, in the Dungeons the Joker laughed no more and returned his form of man, upon leaving Neverwinter he gravitated into the crimson Joker shaped cloud leaving a trail of sinister destruction behind him.

White Eyes :D has achieved a Win, with Neverwinter destroyed his goal is accomplished, but the Adventurers are still very much alive and the game continues. (in the hope of getting second place)

Now this really reminds me of Jester Mafia, where the aim was to get lynched as early as possible. IMO it doesn't work for other games unless everyone is trying to get lynched (as was the case then), not jsut 1 person, and when its a victory condition.

I didn't mean to thank you in a sarcastic way (sorry if that's what you thought :shame:). I'm only saying that what you're saying confused me even more because as you rightly said it doesn't match the write up at all. So something aren't right...

Maybe you got his character wrong?
Maybe Reenk lied about the character (you don't have to be 100% honest in this game)

Night 1 write up

Aarin Gend was alert all night, as a spymaster he knew all around him, so when A dark figure touched his shoulder as Aarin made himself a campfire, his body activated and within microseconds Aarin turned to see what had touched him.

Nothing was there, there was no wind. Nothing. Aarin refused to shrug this off to, as many would, soon he traversed through the wilderness in search of what may of hit him, what is petty to many is serious to this man and this instincts prevailed as he found a man with a hood sitting not far from the campfire.

As Aarin advanced on the figure it rose and an ancient face emerged. The face began to smile in a loving nature, whilst shooting a red spark from it’s hand, eventually Aarin began to laugh as his eyes went crimson red and he levitated a foot or two from the ground, yet in all of this Aarin didn’t die as many of Neverwinter’s residence usually would. Soon he just fell to the ground and after regains consciousness, the two became companions....

An adventurer was lying asleep when a throwing axe passed their head, it didn’t succeed however, and simply embedded itself into the persons arm.
Just a few miles away, an hour later another was unfortunate enough to experience this, however the axe lodged in the leg on this attempt.

Jolt & Greyblades are both Injured; Injured people are still in the game but cannot vote unless they are recovered.

Valen Shadowbreath was on a mission as he grabbed one of his finest weapons, in the wilderness he was looking for a man to fight, he wanted practice as much as a kill as he rustled through the bushes, was it by chance that he’d found a target? A race of man he’d never encountered before with a sword, shield and throwing axes. Both were more than happy to fight without a word as Valen madly charged with his warhammer whilst his opponent held his shield up whilst throwing his axes, though they all deflected off of Valens cumbersome armour and the warhammer thundered down on the outlandish opponent, his shield was ruined and left arm therefore mauled in the transition, Valen met his victims sword thrust with a blow to the head as his opponent was smashed into the ground. After this heated brawl Valen was content with abilities and soon slept easily even after his foul deed.

Hmmm, this sounds intriguing. I would say someone has re-joined our ranks (A divine connection implying something good) and someone investigated him (As was made pretty clear). So it would appear someone knows who Valen Shadowbreath is and we know they killed taka. A lack of a role reveal would probably hint at Valen being a vigilante of some sort.
