My apologies if this has been covered before!

"-At least year 253BC
-Two different generals must loose a large battle (including a loss to the general's bodyguard) against a faction that uses cataphracts (Pahlav, Armenia, Baktria)."

1. As mentioned above do I need to lose two battles in the same turn with two seperate generals against one of the mentioned cultures? or is that twice ever irrelevent of turn?

2. When it says (including a loss to the General's Bodyguard) does that mean i have to kill my general or just have some of his retinue killed off?:help:

3. Do the enemy have to actually have Cataphracts on the field in that battle or does that not matter as long as they are a culture that can use them?

Many thanks for any replies and again my apologies if these have been answered previously as I cannot find any concrete answers for the questions above.

1) it's irrelevant when you loose
2) no the general must survive, he must just loose some of his bodyguards
3) the enemy must have catas on the field

The Generals become a new trait: "impressed by Cataphracts".
Meening they´r so facinated, that they are helping to develop the new class of helenic heavy cav, next to the hetairoi.
the process need some (2 or 3 ?) years.

when is a battle a "large battle"? How many men should participate? And how many of those should die?

Not sure about the numbers: I guess it varies with unit size, but it should be about 1000 per side. The general should lose 20% of his bodyguard and an equal percentage of his army. No cataphracts need to be present (the scripting engine cannot see those anyway), but the enemy army needs to have at least 10% cavalry.

Ich denke, es ist erstaunlich, dass Sie sprechen zwei Sprachen, so dass nicht das Gefühl, schlecht über die kleinen Fehler.

Wenn Sie Reformen erhalten Sie automatisch eine neue Kaserne. If you see a damaged barracks then you can simply destroy it because there will be a new one.

you don't need new barracks for the seleucid reforms. The cata's just become recruitable
