Drag a retinue member on to the character you want to transfer him to, you can't transfer traits. The two character need to be in the same settlement or stack to do this.

Retinues. Best place to transfer is in a fort so you can see all the members of a FM's retinue, you can have a maximum of 8.
For example as the Romanii I'll often have several young FM's undergoing education in Rome. When they turn 20 and become tribunes, I'll move a bunch of them into a fort and transfer retinues, also have one poor sap there with no retinue you can dump nannys, drunken uncles, mother in laws on, also with spaces to move other retinues around. And remember if you want Roman FM's to become provincial govenors they will need a spare slot to get it.
A bit of an exploit but it's fun to keep Archimedes alive for 150yrs+

Wow!!!! I've been playing TW for so long and I never knew this!!! Now I can finally pass on my unique philosophers etc. from simple governors to great statesmen or conquerers! Thanks for the info, this will make playing even more fun as it is already!~D

How so? A father might pass a bodyguard to his son's service, a friend send a siege engineer specialist to accompany his friend to a campaign, and so on... :juggle2:

Yeah, and the father FM's retinue could have had children who were traditionally taught the same trade. Thus, a father FM could have an engineer whose son also becomes one. Role-play that :2thumbsup:. In the Antiquity, professions were much more hereditary than today. You had generations upon generations of the same men, especially if it was a more common occupation. While at teh same time, rarer retinues, such as the unique ones, or ones such as "Natural Philosopher" are un-inheritable due to their rarity.

Strange. I mostly trade retinues for roleplay reasons. I can't stand seeing these "slaves" not doing anything just standing around in city around their masters. I've actually roleplayed specifically as one of the body slaves. I wish I wasn't so much of a bum-lazy illiterate. I could've written decent story...:whip:

"You don't understand. I coulda had class. I coulda been a contender. I coulda been somebody, instead of a bum, which is what I am."

Sorry, but what you said reminded me of "On the Waterfront", which we watched in class a few days ago. :clown:
