Wars in which the AI attacks a faction only to immediately declare peace and attack them again the next turn repeating the process throughout the game.
I don't think theres been more than two turns in my current campaign where I haven't had an announcement telling me War declared Arche Seleukia on Ptolemaioi. In my previous campaign it was Ptolemaioi vs Makedon on and off for pretty much the whole game. Any way of stopping this short of using FD or wiping out said factions myself?

What .exe are you using? I've had that problem with Carthage vs. Rome AI wars, but never with Seleukeia vs. Ptolemaioi. With BI.exe anyway, which is what I use, the bug seems to only come up when two factions go to war without having any territories they control adjacent to each other, making naval invasions between AI controlled factions difficult, if not impossible. I usually deal with this by manipulating the two parties into having adjacent territories somewhere.

I've heard that ALX.exe this sort of thing is pretty much fixed, but I haven't been able to get a copy of it yet. I didn't use RTW.exe very much before switching to BI, but as I recall it would do that sort of thing even if the factions were right next to each other. So aside from trying a different .exe you may be stuck with it.

You could try using the move_character cheat to banish their diplomats to the far corners of the earth, but that could easily get tedious, if not impossible, especially if you have to do it with factions who are right next to each other.

That wouldn't work in my situation :(
When Ptolemaioi had on/off wars with Makedon Makedon only had Rhodos left and Ptolemaioi owned everything from Segestica to Persepolis. There were about two Ptolemaic stacks on Rhodes constantly besieging the city and immediately lifting the siege. Is there some sort of give_settlement command or some option to remove all units in a settlement so that they could have taken it without having to wait a turn?

I affraid that you must teleport one of your army to Rhodos... kill those Makedonians, and then FD rhodos to ptolemaioi.... after that.... the on - off wars won't bother you...

It it a tactic used by desperate factions to save themselves, by allying with the allies of invading factions.

If it happens to you, just cancel all useless alliances.

I used that too to save my ass and revert hopless diplomatic situations :laugh4::laugh4::laugh4:

no alliance was useless... especially it counts that the stupid AI of your enemy won't get more reinforcements...

Messing with the RTW .exe is illegal, I'm 'fraid. Maybe when it's obsolete, we may be able to petition them for a change.
